PostSubject: Tobias   Tobias Icon_minitimeFri May 11, 2012 7:17 am

Name: Tobias

Age: 19

Bounty: 0

Species: Human

Occupation: Scout

Allegiance: N/A

Home Village/Ocean: North Blue

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Tobias is a young man who stands at six feet and two inches in height. He has fairly long, dark blue hair. On the back, it falls down to the base of his neck. On the front, there are several strands that go down farther than his eyes, though he usually is able to keep his hair from actually blocking his vision. On the top of his head he has a small clump of hair that sticks up and curls backward. His eyes are a golden-brown color, like amber. Tobias's skin is light, but he has a slight tan that keeps him from looking pale. He has a lean and well built physique that puts even some bodybuilders to shame.

A lot of Tobias's clothing consists of coats and long-sleeve shirts, but he never wears anything too heavy nor does he wear a shirt when he puts on a coat. To go with these coats and shirts, he usually wears jeans, but no shoes. He hates hats and refuses to wear them under any circumstances. Tobias has only one signature piece of clothing and that is his orange scarf. Whether he is in his human form or thunderbird, Tobias always wears the scarf.

As a thunderbird, Tobias is covered in golden feathers. His feathers stick out a little more than is normal, this giving him a constant on-edge look. Also, his body becomes much larger than his human form; he grows to a length of ten feet from the tip of his beak all the way back to his tail. The shape of his beak is hooked, similar to that of an eagle's, and he has long, sharp talons on each gigantic foot. As previously mentioned, While in this form Tobias continues to wear his scarf, which trails out behind him as he flies.

History: Tobias cannot remember anything about his past. His earliest memories are of fighting in his thunderbird form against animals, sometimes to the death. Other than that, it's like everything is a blank, even what happened in between his fights.

It went on like this for a long time until at long last, Tobias awoke in a new place. It was nothing like the battlefields he knew so well. It was a well-lit room, one that was made entirely of metal. Tobias himself was laying on a table inside of some sort of glass tube at one end of the room. Strange liquids surrounded him in the tube and he had an oxygen mask covering his nose and mouth. His arms and legs were chained to the inside of the tube, but the chains were not necessary. The fact that Tobias had eaten a devil fruit and was immersed in liquid took care of that problem.

Across the room from Tobias was the room's only door. It was hanging slightly open. Standing directly in front of Tobias was a young woman. Tobias had the strangest feeling, like he had seen this woman somewhere before. The woman reached out and pressed one of her hands against the glass of Tobias's container. She smiled at him and then turned her head and did something with her other hand. Suddenly, the liquid in the container drained away and the glass over Tobias slid open. Now that he could move, Tobias strained against the chains holding him back, but he couldn't muster the strength to break free. He felt weaker than usual, but a part of him doubted that he could have escaped even if he was at the height of his strength. Fortunately, the woman had come prepared. She leaned over him and used a key to unlock each of his chains. Then she lifted the mask from his face and helped him up into a sitting position. Finally, she introduced herself. Her name was Natalie and she had come to get him out of this place.

The escape started out smoothly. They made it out of the room and down a couple of hallways. Then they ran into a guard. The guard was busy reading some documents and didn't notice them right away. During that moment, Natalie rushed forward, clapped a hand over the guard's mouth, and drove a dagger into his throat. Then she moved on with Tobias, slightly sickened, following close behind. They got through another couple of corridors before it all fell apart. Someone must have found the guard because an alarm began blaring. However, Natalie was undeterred. She took Tobias into a room and locked the door behind her. The place was apparently a changing room. Natalie had Tobias change into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt as well as a white lab coat. After that, they left the room and moved on. The disguise worked well. Natalie was able to pretend that she and Tobias were discussing important matters and whenever they ran into guards and were ordered to hide until the emergency was over, they complied, and then made a run for it once the guards were gone. They had almost gotten out when a someone else wearing a lab coat came out and saw them. This man must have recognized Tobias because the moment he saw him, he began calling for guards to come. Natalie silenced the scientist with another well-placed dagger thrust and then they ran.

Natalie and Tobias got out the front doors of the building and found themselves in a large, walled compound. Natalie turned to Tobias and told him that this was where he came in. They couldn't leave the compound by normal means because there were too may guards at the front gate. They would have to fly. So Tobias switched into his thunderbird form. Just then, a large group of guards poured out of the building that Natalie and Tobias had just escaped from. Many of them had guns and they raised these, ordering both Tobias and Natalie to stand down. Tobias replied by hurling two bolts of lightning in their direction, scattering the guards. He then sprang into the air and seized Natalie's hands with his claws and flew straight up into the air, carrying her away from the guards and out of the compound.

Two days later, Tobias found himself on another island. Natalie had refused to explain who she was until she was sure they were safe. Now that that time had come, she began to tell him her story. She was a friend of his from many years ago. They had grown up together as children. When they were preteens, Tobias had simply disappeared and for a long time, Natalie had no idea what had happened to him. It wasn't until Tobias's twin sister had come to tell her and ask for her help in retrieving Tobias.

Natalie had to pause in her story to explain that Tobias did indeed have a twin. Her name was Silvia. She had also been Natalie's friend until Tobias's disappearance, but soon after he had vanished, both Silvia and her mother had left their home.

Once she had cleared up those details, Natalie returned to her story. As it turned out, Tobias's mother had been low on cash. She had been out of work for several months and barely had enough money to buy a loaf of bread. So when a team of scientists came along and offered to buy one of her children for live human testing, she found it very difficult to refuse them. In fact, she only held out for about a week before giving in to their demands. When Tobias had been taken away, Silvia demanded that her mother go and bring him back, but her mother refused, knowing that there was no way that the scientists would allow it. From that point on, Silvia hated her mother. Soon after, both Silvia and her mother moved to another island and Natalie wasn't entirely sure about the details of what happened there. All she knew was that for seven long years she had not heard a word about anyone of Tobias's family until Silvia returned asking for her help.

Natalie told Tobias that she and Silvia had been planning his escape for over a month. The facility he had been held in was not one that was sponsored by either the World Government or revolutionaries. They weren't really sure who was running the place. What they did know was that the place was testing Zoan type devil fruits on human teenagers and forcing them to fight each other. The purpose of this was still uncertain. In any case, Tobias had been one of the lucky ones. He had been given a powerful fruit, one that allowed him to fight with the best at the facility.

When Natalie paused for a moment to let Tobias digest the information he had been given, he asked one simple question: Where was Silvia? Unfortunately, Natalie did not know for sure. According to her, Silvia had infiltrated the base ahead of her and figured out where Tobias was and how to get him out. She had sent the information to Silvia and then vanished. That had been three days before Natalie got Tobias out of the facility. Silvia had been missing for five whole days. Natalie said that she had spent those three days looking for Silvia, but had found no trace of her in the facility or even in the facility's records. It was like she had never even been there. But the people running the facility couldn't have caught her, otherwise they would have discovered the connection between her and Tobias and the security around Tobias would have been tightened to make certain that she did not have any accomplices.

After that, Tobias went silent and Natalie gave him a few minutes. Then she asked him if he remembered her now, to which he replied no. He did not remember Silvia either or his mother or anything that she had described. All he could remember were his fights in the facility. His fights that had not been against animals, but other children who had been fed Zoan fruits. He had even killed some of them. Natalie tried to comfort Tobias arguing that it wasn't his fault, but it didn't matter. He still felt the guilt of his actions. Natalie asked him what he wanted to do now, since he couldn't remember anything. It took him a second, but then he told her that he wanted to find Silvia.

Natalie and Tobias spent the next few weeks searching for Silvia. They went back to the island where the facility was and even explored the surrounding islands, but with no luck. Over this period of time, Tobias learned from Natalie what their childhood had been like and some of the crazy things they had done. He still didn't remember any of it, but he enjoyed the stories. For Tobias, this was a fun time, even though he still hadn't found his sister. To him, the sense of freedom was amazing as was the friendship he was developing with Natalie. For both of them, it was like meeting someone completely new and discovering everything about them for the first time.

One day, when Tobias was leaving to go and meet with one of Natalie's informants, she stopped him at the door and made sure he had everything. It was his first time to do something like it on his own. After looking him over, Natalie had asked him to be careful and then she leaned up and kissed him. At first Tobias had not been able to move and even after Natalie pulled away, he was still stunned. She had just grinned at him and told him that she had been waiting to do that for seven years. Tobias had left a minute later, very much confused about what she had done. He had no memory of kisses from his past and the emotions that it had provoked within him were completely alien to him.

The rest of Tobias's morning was not as strange. He met with the informant, learned nothing new, and then returned home, only to find that the house was empty. Natalie had disappeared into thin air.

For me to describe every detail of the next three weeks of Tobias's life would be pointless. In a nutshell, he spent his time waiting for Natalie to come back and looking for her, but she was gone and there was nothing he could do about it. At long last, he had left the home with an new plan. If Natalie and Silvia were free, they would be looking for him and if whoever had made them vanish was looking for him, he would need back-up. So his plan was simple: He was going to make a name for himself, make new friends, and search the world for any sign of Natalie or Silvia. And one day, he was going to see them again.

Personality: Tobias is somewhat naive. He doesn't know how to react in every situation and sometimes totally misunderstands what is happening around him. This can sometimes put him into awkward situations where someone is threatening him or his friends and he keeps having to ask them what they mean. Despite all of this, he's a loyal companion and will protect those that he cares about. Tobias is also very hard to excite about something. This goes hand in hand with his nativity in that he may not always understand that he is supposed to be happy about something that he is told or given. He is, however, a highly intelligent person who can remember just about anything he is told.

Ship: N/A

Ship Flag: N/A

Devil Fruit: Tori-Tori no mi; Model: Thunderbird
Type: Mythical Zoan
Effect: This is a zoan fruit that gives its user the ability to turn into a thunderbird. While in bird form, the user has the ability to shoot lightning bolts, create gusts of wind, and cause thunderous BOOMs. The most powerful, and volatile, ability this fruit has is that it allows the user to manipulate cumulus clouds and create various kinds of stormy weather. The bird is significantly larger than its human form and has golden feathers.

Special Abilities:

Physical Abilities: Tobias is in excellent physical condition for a young man of his age. He is much more powerful than the average fighter and is very quick on his feet and/or wings. He can also endure a lot of pain and will not give up until he is knocked out.

Learned Techniques:

1. Piercing Talon: Tobias dives in and kicks at his opponent with one of his feet, attempting to stab them with his talons.

2. Raptor Cutter: Tobias flies past his opponent at his top speed and slashes at them with his talons.

Weapons/Items: N/A

Goal: To find Natalie and Silvia.
