Name: Uriah M. (Maynard) Kent "Has-Been"

Age: 41

Bounty: Non-Applicable

Species: Human

Occupation: Bounty-Hunter

Allegiance: Freelance

Home Village/Ocean: West

Appearance: Uriah is a tall, burly man with broad shoulders and a thick neck. It would be a mistake to describe Uriah's warrior physique as athletic and, while obviously strong, Uriah's muscles are visibly not well-toned. He has an olive-colored tan on his body, with a reddish-pink sunburn on his nape. Uriah's wavy hair is kept short (no longer than an inch and a half at its maximum) and swept back when it grows too long. He has five o'clock shadow that continues to persist after many attempts at shaving it away (these attempts are physically represented by small scars across various parts of his cheeks and upper lip). He has a square jaw, a firm upper lip, and thick eyebrows. Uriah's eyes are unsettling to those who stare into them; the grey-blue color of his retina does not hide his intensity, however, it also exudes a discomfort with the world, thus giving Uriah the presence of a man who has lost what he cares for.
Uriah dons a forest green (of a darker shade) vest over a white work-shirt. The sleeves of his shirt are rolled up to his elbows, revealing a series of tattoos; on the underside of his right forearm is the marine symbol (that is the simplified design of a navy blue bird with a bar going through its head. On both ends of the bar are crescents of the same color.) In the same spot on the other arm is the word "CONVICT" inked in bold black text. On the upper side of both forearms are a collection of five-point stars that vary in size. Uriah rarely wears gloves, so the disfigured swelling of his first two knuckles (on each hand) is plainly visible to those who look at him. A long silver chain dangles from his neck, holding a plain, oval-shaped locket (inside this locket is a picture of him in his younger days). Uriah also wears a pair of blue jeans held up by a cheap cowhide belt and leathery brown combat boots. Occasionally, Uriah may wear a black baseball cap with the word "HUNTER" written above the bill in gold. If finds himself in a brawl while wearing the hat he'll either turn the bill to face backwards or take it off. Other than the possibility of a hat covering the top of his head, Uriah's outfit rarely changes.

History: must be detailed

Personality: Uriah is a man whose pride was broken long ago, and is now left clinging to nostalgia. Inside him is a constant struggle between his desire to live in the golden days and the fear that he will never be strong again. His image of his past-self is inherently tied to his character. Remorseful and regretful, Uriah refuses to accept the fact that "the squandered years" he spent in prison were caused by the flaws of his younger self, but still secretly wishes he could retry his youthful years. His time in prison has hardened him emotionally, however, he subconsciously knows he is physically only a vestige of his former self. While once he was a passionate warrior, now he has to force himself through day to day affairs. Though he once was a master of a style he called "bodacious karate", he no longer has enough zeal to be called bodacious. A constant shame looms over him, but through all his disappointments the fire within him still smolders, waiting for another kindling. In combat, he finds the kind of peace others would find by fondly looking back at memories. His shame, his fear, and his worries all fade away while he battles his opponents. Victory inspires him and loss awakens him to faults he can correct. Uriah has an apathetic form of recklessness; he has nothing left to lose because he has nothing he cares for. In the past he was driven by a sense of great justice and an unshakable ardor. This sense of justice has not left him, but his ardor has been replaced by an unfaltering discipline. Through his rose-tinted glasses he cannot see the improvements he has made to himself with his age. Buried under all the fond-memories of who he once was lies the truth of his younger-self, a locked box containing the picture of a violent young fool who spent all his days fighting. Now an older man, Uriah still knows only how to fight and has no alternate path to travel down, but at least he'll be fighting for a reason greater than to crush the wretched. He scoffs now at that aggressively idealistic thought, and believes thoroughly that evil cannot be beaten through violence. However, his new reason to be is not to fight for the betterment of the world, but to fight for himself. Uriah is neither a funny man nor an angry one, however, he can be quick to fight.

Perhaps walking the road of the warrior once again will ease Uriah's pains.
