Appearance: Lance's appearance is quite peculiar as he has been cut by an enemy who had the powers of the Ope Ope no Mi. As a result, he only has the upper part of his body and not his legs. His body is well built and he seems to be quite thin. He has medium sized muscles, which are quite fast, and he has a tattoo on his right arm which resembles the symbol of the marines. He also has a small scar below his neck. He also has six packs and he lacks of fat. His skin color is white.

As for his face, Lance has a quite beautiful face, even if he's 36 years old. He has light grey colored slim eyes, white colored curly hair and a small nose. He also has a slim mouth which looks like he slightly smiles and small ears. His eyebrows are white colored, just like his hair. He does not have any scars on his face, nor any accessories.

As he does not have the bottom part of his body because he was cut down by a user of the Ope Ope no Mi, Lance only has his upper body part dressed. He wears a sleeveless black shirt which is very tight so that his six packs and his muscles can be seen. He also wears black, fingerless gloves and a black headband.

The bottom part of his body looks exactly like a big black eagle. Nothing else.

History: Lance was born in the Grand Line. Ever since he was a kid, he was a big fan of justice. He wanted to become a marine and reinforce the justice around the world so that he would protect the innocent civilians who were falling as victims during the pirate era. As a result, when he became 12 years old, he joined the marines and he started at the lowest rank. For years, he trained himself and he became a proficient swordsman who knew how to wield two swords at the same time, as if they were extension of his hand. Also, during those years of training, he came to learn a technique called Soru, which allowed him to run with great speeds. He was a very prominent marine...

For many years, Lance was fighting for justice. During his many battles against pirates, he started forming some new beliefs. He became a fan of Absolute Justice and he was destroying any pirates he happened to run on. Because of his hard work and the results he showed in missions, Lance was awarded with the rank of Marine Commodore. Everything looked perfect to Lance... He was living the life he wanted to and he was achieving his goals more and more each day that happened to pass. However, something happened that was about to change his life forever.

During one mission, Lance had to attack a pirate fleet along with his subordinates. His crew rushed on the enemies' ships and a big battle started. For hours, the two sides were battling and Lance was taking out the enemies one by one. Everything looked like the marines were going to win... However, when the time had come for Lance to take on the captain, something strange happened. What Lance had not expected was that the captain was a fruit user. The captain, Victor Groose, was a very powerful individual and he had a terrible fruit power. He was the user of the Ope Ope no Mi... With his fruit abilities, he cut down Lance and attached the upper part of his body on his pet eagle, while leaving with the rest of Lance's body, making him quite useless. He did not want to kill Lance. He just wanted to ruin the man's career.

After that event, Lance's power was weakened considerably. He was much weaker than before because of the fact that he had lost half of his body. Lance soon started developing a form of depression and he did not want to go to missions anymore. The worst things, came a few days later, though. Because of his inability to fight, the marines kicked him out as they found him useless. This made Lance's depression turn into a form of hatred for Victor as well as the Marines themselves and ever since that time he's traveling around the world in order find and kill Victor, extract his revenge on the marines and find the rest of his body.

Personality: Lance is a loyal person. He will do whatever he has to, but if he does not think it is right, he will mention it. Despite that, he will still do it. Also, he is not a cheerful person at all, although he shows to be quite optimistic sometimes. Strangely enough for a guy like him who is serious, he is a person who likes dreaming and believes in dreams. He does not mock the dreams of other people. He is serious most of the times, but he can be sarcastic from times to times. However, he laughs when he is sarcastic or whenever he makes a pun or a rhyme, just like his casual "I am Lance, you don't stand a chance!" rhyme.
He has a big dislike for the marines and the World Government because of the fact that he was kicked out after he was cut by an Ope Ope no Mi user and was useless in combat. He also is a person who is seeking for revenge; he wants revenge for the betrayal he received and for the destruction of his marine career which took place after an enemy pirate cut him down with the powers of the Ope Ope no Mi. After he was kicked out of the navy force, his personality against enemies also changed. He used to be a believer of Moral Justice, although now he does not hesitate to dispose anybody he does not like. If he has to, he will not hesitate to kill and will not stop at anything. Also, his rage and hatred for his previous force is so great that he does not hold back on revealing marine secrets to his new crew. Finally, he is a capable strategist and manipulator; he does not hesitate to take advantage of his previous marine ranking to manipulate any marines around him that do not know that he was kicked out of the force and he is an enemy of them.
In his battles, Lance is a person who goes with the flow of the battle and he will quickly adapt to it to use his techniques. For example, if he deals with an enemy who is only attacking with melee techniques, he will use long range techniques to defeat him. He usually uses a technique at the right time and when it can deal the most damage and it is more difficult to dodge. As a result, he may go from times to times with his usual techniques before using his "real" stuff. Finally, he is cautious when he has to deal with fruit users because of the fact that he is suffering the effects of a fruit right now and because of the fact that this effect has ruined his entire life.

-Two Sword Style: Lance is a user of a two sword style. He is a proficient swordsman who can use two swords at the same time with great ease. His mastery over his swordsmanship is great and he can create air blades and cut metal.
-Flight: As Lance is attached on the back of his pet eagle which he knows very well, the two of them have got used to it and now behave as one creature. As a result, Roze flies however Lance wants as if he is an extension of his body. Also, as Roze is an eagle that has been fed with IQ, he received increased speed and power, he can fly faster and he's stronger than normal eagles.
