Name: Elvina
Age: 18
Bounty: N/A
Species: Human
Occupation: Ensign/Field Medic
Allegiance: Marines
Home Village/Ocean: Grand Line
Appearance: Elvina is a white female who stands at six feet and one inch in height. She is unusually thin, but has a layer of powerful, and unusually unnoticeable, muscle lying just beneath her skin. This odd body structure has tends to have different affects on people since she's so tall, but doesn't look very tough. Elvina also has jet black hair that falls around her face and down the back of her neck a short ways. For a One Piece female, Elvina has a relatively small bust and she does nothing to try and bring out any of her feminine attributes. She usually goes all natural, not that this is too much of a problem to her. She already possesses pleasant features. There is only one exception to this. On her right cheek is a tattoo that looks like this: GS-07.
Elvina dresses very simply. She doesn't care for anything overly fancy unless it has some practical use. Off duty, her usual outfit consists of a short-sleeve, black shirt underneath a gray, long-sleeve, button-up shirt, a pair of dark blue jeans with two metallic belts looped around it in an X shape, black combat boots, and a pair of sunglasses. She carries five kunai on both sides of both of her belts, so there are twenty in all. She keeps the belts and the sunglasses while on duty, but otherwise wears an ordinary Marine uniform. At all times she wears what looks like a metal dog collar around her neck.
History: The first thing Elvina can remember occurred only two years before present day. She opened her eyes to find herself laying in a pool of blood in a lab somewhere. All around her were the bodies of men and women, bleeding, which explained the blood on the floor. Each of these individuals was dressed in a lab coat, marking them as scientists. Elvina was the only exception. She was wearing a long, white, dress that reached down to her ankles. Also unlike the scientists, Elvina was not wounded in any way. In fact, she was soaked and it wasn't just blood.
Elvina eventually made her way out of the lab and into the open air. It was then that she realized that she was on a tiny island that was mostly rocks with the occasional shrub or patch of grass. The lab was the only building on the island. Elvina was all alone.
Eventually, after searching the island for a way to escape and finding none, Elvina returned to the lab. She went back to the place where she had woken up and looked for clues as to why she was there. She quickly took notice of this strange, broken, glass capsule at the back of the room. It was big enough to hold a human. Further investigation revealed that the inside of the capsule and on the floor around it was some sort of liquid substance. Interestingly enough, the substance smelled the same as the other liquid on Elvina's dress. So that explained where she had come from. Elvina's next question was about why she had been in this capsule in the first place. Though she was unable to find the answer in that room, she did see a metal plate next to the capsule that was labeled: GS-07 "Elvina". That is how she got her name.
Elvina continued on and searched through the rest of the base, trying to find something or someone to help her. She had gone about halfway through the base when she was attacked from behind by a man. Fortunately for Elvina, she heard him as he approached and she easily avoided his initial strike with a curved sword. As Elvina turned to face her opponent, she took note of his expression. He looked like he was terrified of her. This suspicion was confirmed when Elvina caught his wrist, broke it with a simple twist, and snatched the sword from his now loose grip. He collapsed on the ground, screaming in pain and crying as he backed away from her. He begged her not to kill him, but didn't seem to believe her when she told him that she had no intention of doing that. Elvina spent the next three minutes trying to convince him to trust her, even going so far as to return the sword to him. However, it wasn't until he passed out from pain that Elvina was able to approach him without having to worry about him trying to stab her.
Elvina took the man's unconscious form and placed him in a medical facility she had found earlier in her exploration of the base. There were actually multiple facilities like this one throughout the lab, but this one looked the least like a mad scientist's workspace. Once Elvina had gotten the man settled, she began working on fixing him up. Strangely enough, she knew exactly how to how to set the man's wrist so that it would heal properly, and yet she had no memories of ever doing anything like it before.
She then left the man and continued exploring the building. There were multiple floors, but the structure was still fairly simplistic to understand. It was basically just one lab stacked on top of another with an extensive library, a well-stocked cafeteria, three so-called "Testing Centers", and bathrooms placed throughout. On the first floor, Elvina found a door that led to a basement. This basement was a storage room with even more supplies. It turned out that there was still another basement beneath this one, but unlike the basement above it, this one had a small lake beyond which was a small hole that led to the ocean. In this lake were several ships and a few odd vehicles that resembled motorcycles, but floated on the water.
Two whole days went by before the man finally regained consciousness. Elvina passed the time cleaning up the dead bodies throughout the building and making sure the man was taken care of. She had located another room during that time and this one had weapons in it. One weapon in particular stood out to her. That weapon was a tonfa.
When the man woke up, he was unsure of where he was and stayed put. It wasn't until Elvina came into the room that he began freaking out. She tried to calm him down through logic, telling him that if she wanted him dead, she would have killed him already. The man still was afraid of her, but he admitted that she had a point, although it was possible that she was keeping him alive for something. Elvina ignored this comment and asked him why he was so scared of her. He was hesitant to tell her anything at first, but finally just went ahead and did it anyway.
This lab was one that had been created for the express purpose of creating a formula that increases the physical strength of a human being without them having to train for it. Elvina, as well as nine others, had been injected with the formula at different times. The formula had been tweaked between each of those times and it was finally perfected on the tenth try. Elvina was the seventh to be injected, which is the reason for the number part of her tattoo. All ten test subjects had remained under observation ever since their injections to make sure that there was no side effects. The only exception to this was number three. He had been stolen by a scientist and even though that scientist had eventually been tracked and killed, number three escaped. That wasn't everything, however. Elvina and the others had all been trained in many different areas including combat, cooking, medicine, and navigation. Each of them also learned how to read and write.
When the man had finished, Elvina asked him why she couldn't remember any of this. He was surprised by the fact that she had forgotten every detail. He had, in fact, only told her stuff he didn't think she knew and referred to some stuff she should have known. It wasn't like the scientists had told their subjects why they did what they did each day. The man told Elvina that he didn't know for sure why she had lost her memories, but that it may have had something to do with the murders of the scientists in the lab. This comment prompted another explanation.
Apparently the formula was not as perfect as the scientists thought. The closer they got to finishing it, the more wild each subject became. Number ten was more like an animal than a human being. Even so, he had retained just enough logical thought to be considered a threat. The day before Elvina awakened without her memories, number ten had torn his way out of his containment tube and slaughtered every scientist in the lab except for the man before Elvina. Number ten had not been completely insane though. He had not killed the other subjects, but freed them from containment. Then he had boarded a ship with those others and left the lab.
Elvina was stunned by this news, but even more so, she was shocked that she couldn't remember any of it. The story seemed so wild, so impossible. She left the man, thanking him for telling her these things. Then she went to think for a while about everything. After a while she decided that it didn't matter. People had died, but she was still alive. So she was going to make the best of her time and try to live her life the way she wanted to. She wasn't going into an insane rage or anything, so she figured that it should be possible. Elvina returned to the man and told him that she was going to take care of him until he got better. He was shocked by this and asked her why should would help him after everything that had happened. He had attacked her and was a part of the team that had been developing the formula. Elvina told him that she didn't care about that. She did not even remember any of the things that had happened to her in the past and his attack had been unsuccessful and it was doubtful he would try again.
It was another week before the man felt good enough to get out of bed. Elvina had really done a number on his wrist and he had already been through an ordeal before their little skirmish. It wasn't long before the man noticed how much interest Elvina had in the tonfa she had found in the weapon room. He offered to help teach her how to fight. He said it should be easy since she already knew how to do it, she just needed to be reminded of what she had learned before. Elvina eagerly accepted his offer and they started immediately. The lab had several training rooms hidden in secret areas that Elvina had not even known existed. These areas included intense climate changes such as an ice room, a desert, and even a miniature hurricane. There were also animals: wolves, bears, tigers, and much more. They all had survived more than a week of neglect because their rooms were equipped with automatic food and water dispensers that kept them just hungry enough to be vicious. Elvina dove into these areas with a fury that shocked her friend. She fought each of the beasts, defeating them all on the first try. However, as her friend immediately pointed out, her movements were sloppy. It was only her incredible strength and the stupidity of her opponents that had allowed her to succeed with such ease. So he began teaching her how to use the tonfa better. Elvina absorbed the information like a sponge and soon she was ready for the next level.
In a basement level even deeper down than the boat area was a very special training area. Down there was a labyrinth that made no attempt to disguise itself as anything, but looked like a part of the base. Down there were creatures that should have only existed in legends. Elvina's friend warned her that unlike with the other areas, should she enter this place, she would be on her own. There were no second chances. He couldn't help her escape if she got in trouble, lest the beasts also get out and cause chaos across the Grand Line. Elvina accepted this risk, got prepared, and then entered into the pathways.
Four whole months elapsed before she emerged again. Her friend had long since presumed her dead, but was overjoyed to see her again. He could see that her time in the labyrinth had changed her. Elvina had never been a particularly loud or happy person, but now she was even more subdued. She sometimes wore a haunted look when she thought her friend wasn't watching. But he still noticed. He tried cheering her up, but when she couldn't muster up any real enthusiasm. It all came across as hollow. So her friend asked her what had happened in there. Elvina told him that he did not want to know. That it hurt her to even remember it and for him it would be worse. He asked her why it would hurt him more. She didn't respond at first, but at last said that if she left things this way, he would never understand, but that if she told him even a little, he would be hurt. He then begged her to tell him, saying that it didn't matter if it hurt him. She didn't respond so he angrily demanded that she tell him. Elvina remained quiet until he stood up and was about to storm off. Then she told him that the they had not been the only people alive in this place like they had thought, but that they were now. So her story began.
After entering the training area, Elvina had first attempted to find some sort of shelter. She knew that it was possible that she would be in there for a long time and she might return at some point for further training. It hadn't taken her long to locate a niche in one of the walls that led back into a tunnel that did not look like it had been part of the labyrinths original design. Elvina made sure to explore the entire thing and made sure that nothing was living in there. Then she set up her base there, putting down a sleeping bag she had brought along with her food and medical supplies. After that, Elvina took a look around the labyrinth, marking her trail by putting scratches into the walls with her tonfa. She followed a path that spiraled further downward away from the surface. That was when she had met them. Three humans who had been running away from a giant gorilla-like creature. Elvina rushed out and killed the creature with a couple of quick strikes. Then she caught up to the humans, who had kept right on running, and she led them back to her base. All the way there, they could hear the roaring of beasts approaching behind them. Fortunately, they made it back without any loss of life on their part.
When they had returned, Elvina asked the other humans, two men and a woman, why they were down here. They revealed that they were scientists from the facility above. When the tenth subject had gone crazy, he had not killed everyone. Instead, he had dumped about thirty of them down here in these tunnels, locked the door, and left them to die. The other twenty-seven had long since been killed and these remaining three had just been flushed out of their hiding place when Elvina found them. Elvina agreed to help them escape, but things had gotten a little more complicated. The beasts had followed them back to Elvina's hole in the wall and they were blocking the escape route.
Elvina spent the next few weeks fighting the creatures, killing many and wounding even more. She even reached the escape route a few times and cleared the room in which it could be found so she could leave if she had wanted too. However, she had to leave the three behind every time she did this for fear that they would be torn to pieces if she brought them with her. Each of these times, she returned to the hole to get the three and take them out, but more beasts arrived before they could escape. At one point during this time, Elvina and the trio nearly ran out of the food and water, but then one of the trio discovered that the pipes of some of the beast's food and water dispensers traveled right passed their hole in the wall. So they used those when the need finally arose.
Finally, after many weeks, the beasts stopped coming. Elvina checked out the route multiple times and saw that it was completely clear. She returned to the hole and told the three they could get out. So carefully and quietly, they made their way up the tunnel. They managed to reach the final room without incident and that made Elvina lower her guard. It was a fatal mistake. One of the beasts, a huge chameleon that could turn completely invisible, was waiting for them. It fell from the ceiling and killed two of the trio instantly. The third was thrown against a wall, but lived. Elvina dove upon the chameleon and fought with it for several minutes. It was a powerful creature, far more deadly than any of the other beasts in the labyrinth. At long last, she managed to kill it. Exhausted, she turned to the last survivor, the woman, but she discovered that the other had a mortal wound. Then the beasts began roaring again. They were coming quickly. There was no time to escape. The woman told Elvina to leave her, but Elvina refused. She stood her ground, waited, and fought. It was a hardest battle she had ever experienced, but in the end, she was victorious again, though she had also received some heavy wounds. Her friend, however, was dead. For the first time, Elvina felt the wildness of the formula surging through her veins. The sight of that woman, dead, drove her mad. She stayed in the labyrinth for the remainder of those four months and killed every creature in those tunnels. At long last, she had emerged and the rest was history.
The man was silent at first, when Elvina had finished telling him what had happened, but then he thanked her. He said that he was glad that she had tried so hard and that it wasn't her fault they died. Then he went off to think about things for a while.
A few days later, the Marines arrived. A young Rear Admiral had been sent to investigate the rumor that some strange things were happening on this tiny rock. He hadn't really been expecting to find anything there, but was pleasantly surprised that his trip was not a total waste of time. He approached the base and was intercepted by Elvina on the beachhead. She asked him why he was there. He told her that he had received news that some dangerous chemicals were being used on this island. She told him that his information was correct, but then let him know that she had destroyed the chemicals, which she had done immediately after her friend had first told her about the experiments. The Marine asked about the scientists to which Elvina replied that they were all dead except one and that he would not being doing any more experiments in the near future. The Rear Admiral said he was happy to hear this news, but wanted to confirm it for himself. Elvina told him that would not be possible. The lab was her home and she did not want him invading her privacy. The Marine Rear Admiral let her know that it was his right to investigate places like this, even if it was her home. So Elvina drew out her tonfa and prepared for battle. Not a single word was spoken between the two of them for the next hour as they fought. In the end, however, Elvina was overwhelmed while her opponent remained fresh and uninjured. At first Elvina couldn't believe she had lost, but then the Rear Admiral told her that while she was strong, she needed to broaden her horizons. She couldn't learn how to fight properly if she stayed in a place like this one.
The other Marines then went aside the base while the Rear Admiral waited outside to guard Elvina. She was still a threat, even if he could beat her. When the Marines had confirmed that the materials had, in fact, been destroyed, their next problem was what to do with Elvina. She had assaulted an officer, even if she was just trying to protect her home. Then the Rear Admiral gave her an offer. He could arrest her and put her in jail or she could come with them and join the Marines. Elvina was shocked by his offer, pointing out that it was basically coercion. The Rear Admiral laughed and said he was joking, but the offer was still there. She could come with them and they would not only teach her how to fight, but she would be helping people as well. Elvina thought back to all the things she had done since waking up in that pool of blood. To be honest, all she wanted was to protect people and get stronger. So she accepted. Before leaving, she thanked her friend for helping her when she needed it. Then she left, taking along with her one of the motorcycle-like vehicles from the basement where the docks were kept. She had ridden it a few times and was fond of it.
A little over a year and a half later, Elvina is still in the Marines. She is now an Ensign, the first of the officer ranks, as well as a medic who can operate on and off of the field.
Personality: Elvina is the calm, trustworthy kind of person you want at your back. She isn't a very excitable person and rarely shows a lot of emotion. Still, she is friendly and will smile when it is appropriate. She is very empathetic towards her allies, but will not suffer fools. She does have one major emotional weakness and that is watching people die in front of her. She can handle the death of animals, but if a human is killed, she can get depressed. The only real exception to this is when a person is trying to kill someone close to her. Then she will not hesitate fight them to the death if she thinks it is necessary. Another thing that is strange to her is the differences between male and female. She has come to accept it since joining the Marines, but she doesn't really understand what attraction is or why women cover up certain parts of their bodies that men don't. However, as previously stated, she does accept it and she follows what everyone else does. She has even gotten a little bit self-conscious about it.
Ship: Aquacycle: This is Elvina's personal vehicle. It is essentially a Jet Ski, except it uses water as its source of power. It has only one seat, but can hold up to two people, assuming that the two are not especially big. However, even then it is a cramped ride.
Ship Flag: The Marine flag.
Devil Fruit: N/A
Type: N/A
Effect: N/A
Special Abilities:
Enhanced Power: Elvina was a test subject in a lab that used her to further the perfection of a formula that gives a person great strength without needing to train for it. The formula was not completed when it was injected into Elvina and it did give her strength, but she was boosted by a moderately smaller amount than was intended. This is why, despite her weak appearance, she is actually very strong.
Strength: Elvina is very powerful strength-wise. She doesn't have epic level strength, but she is still high above the average and can compete with most OCs that aren't super-powered or heavily trained in some way. (Examples of super-powered or heavily trained individuals: Cyborgs with mechanical muscles, Iken, Namor, etc.)
Agility: Elvina is a very agile individual. She is quick on her feet and can easily jump heights of twenty feet from a standing position.
Fighting Skills: Elvina is a highly trained individual with plenty of skill to back her up. She also is a very instinctive fighter. Though she lost her memories of the time before waking up in that pool of blood, she still has the experience of the intense training from those lost years imprinted in her brain. Unfortunately, she cannot access this information like she did before the memory loss. Only bare wisps of it can be seen in her current fighting abilities. It does, however, allow her to learn fighting techniques, while she is training, much faster than if she didn't have it.
Learned Techniques:
1: Piercing Thrust: Elvina stabs forward with her tonfa with enough power to shatter stones.
2: Scything Top: Elvina spins her tonfa in her hands and strikes at her opponent with them.
3: Pounding Hammers: Elvina slams her tonfa into a stone wall or rocky ground and then tears them free so that chunks of stone remain around the long end of each of her tonfa. The weight of this stone can be used to give a small boost the force of her attacks.
4: Lancing Sky Shot: Elvina swings her tonfa upwards towards her opponent's chin to try and knock them into the air.
5: Soru: The Soru allows its user to move at extremely high speeds in order to avoid attacks, as well as to attack at higher speeds and with greater power.
6: Sprinting Blaze: Elvina dashes forward, using soru, and swings her tonfa at her opponent or opponents as she passes them by.
7: Tekkai: The Tekkai hardens the users' muscles to the level of iron, in order to nullify damage taken from attacks. However, it can be broken by strong enough forces.
8: Steel Wall: Elvina holds her tonfa up in front of an oncoming attack before using tekkai. This allows her to absorb a portion of her enemy's attack into her weapons so that the full force won't reach her body.
Weapons/Items:
Kemuri ToraTwenty Kunai
Reel of Wire
Goals: To protect and save as many lives as she possibly can.
