Also, I think there's some naming problem, since Mushi Mushi is also the name of the zoan insect branch. Further more, why not just use the Hiso Hiso No Mi over insects?

Wrong: not how it works. As we all know, this is not generic mind control and one piece canon alread has plenty of pseudo mind control like this.
Hiso hiso is just speaking, not controlling, so no.
Mushi mushi is a bad name sure, but that is the only thing wrong with the fruit.
