Name: Lobo Houdini

Age: 18

Bounty: 200 B

Species: Human

Occupation: Entertainer, Musician

Allegiance: Pirate

Home Village/Ocean: Shells Town, East Blue

Appearance: Lobo is a thin man, with not too much muscle on him but enough to make him a good choice out of a crowd of admirers. He is 1.75 meters tall, and weight 65 kilograms. Lobo's hair is dank orange in color, and is usually combed and gelled to give him a gentleman's appearance while he performs. He has a pair of green eyes and short bristles on his chin, along with a slightly elongated nose. Seeing Lobo without a cigarette in his mouth is a rare sight, smoking is a habit he copied from Merphy, his role model. Lobo's cigarettes also aid him in various magic tricks that involve fire, which are his absolute favorite.
Lobo copied a lot of his attire from Merphy, the original magician. He wears a black tuxedo suit and a red tie, along with shined black shoes and a pair of white gloves. The suit is custom made, sporting many hidden pockets that aid Lobo's magic tricks. He carries Merphy's old lighter, which he never got to return, in one of his pockets, and a pack of cigarettes in a different one. On his back, Lobo carries a small wooden box, position on his lower back and held by his shoulders and waists. The box contains Lobo's pair of marionettes: Woody and Pinocchio.

History: Lobo was born into a comfortable setting. His mother was a successful merchant, making his family quite formidable, while his father had a large fishing ship and a small crew of fishermen, who supplied a big chunk of Shells Town's fish supply. He had his weird powers ever since he could remember. Lobo's father's crew brought fruit with them every once in a while, to sell and eat. One of these fruits must have been a devil fruit that Lobo fortunately or unfortunately ate. His parents didn't like the fact that their son had these powers, since most of the devil fruit users became either pirates or marines, but Lobo was their only son and there was nothing they could do about it, so they accepted it.

Lobo's life took their first twist when he was 5. At that time, a man named Jack Merphy visited Shells Town. Merphy was a wondering magician, who's act was limited to street performing. But Merphy had bigger dreams, and when he spotted Lobo playing around with his friends and using his powers to stop a ball from entering the goal, he couldn't give up on the opportunity. With Lobo's powers, Merphy would be able to upgrade his show into real magic level! He could slice Lobo to pieces and reattach him without any tricks! With a seemingly generous offer of some candy and a cold drink, Merphy managed to trick Lobo into his small ship, abducting him.

Lobo was terrified, he wanted to go back home and forget this nightmare, but then Merphy promised him something. The magician showed Lobo a trick where he seemingly read the boy's mind by guessing which card the boy chose. The magician then promised Lobo that he could learn how to read minds as well if he followed him. After consideration, Lobo agreed, at least until he learned how to read minds. This simple agreement created a new alliance between Lobo and Merphy. The pair traveled around the blues, with an impressive magic show that attracted the highest links in the society out of the Grand Line. The burst of success brought money as well, allowing Merphy to buy himself a slave girl, a 15 year old girl named Teresa Dawn, who ate the special Gomu Gomu No Mi. Lobo was 12 at that time. With his trusty splitting boy and new rubber girl, Merphy's act soon turned more famous than ever, to successful to be trapped out of the Grand Line. Lobo was 13 when the group crossed over.

Realizing how valuable the pair he had with him was, Merphy decided upon taking the show to the Grand Line, where it would attract more fame and money than ever before. The three crossed over to the Grand Line, which later proved to be Merphy's worst mistake. In the Grand Line, the show was still as good as before, but with the amount of piracy that lurked around, Merphy could barely manage to get money for his work. Merphy's gambling problem wasn't a helpful aspect as well. The group managed to hold on for a year, making Teresa 16 and Lobo 14, until Merphy finally had enough. With nothing but alcohol in his gut and an empty wallet, there was nothing more that Merphy wanted to do than pass the blame to someone else. He grew attached to Lobo with which he spent almost 10 years, but Teresa was relatively new, and attractive.

Later that night, Lobo returned from his personal street show back to the ship, and heard sounds of yelling and screaming. Merphy was hitting Teresa. He was drunk and depressed, and Teresa was scared and defenseless, she never used her powers to do anything but perform. Lobo was split apart. On one hand, Merphy was practically his father, and they were close. But on the other, Teresa was nice and friendly, and him and her became good friends in the couple of years they knew each other. Eventually, Lobo chose Teresa's side. He rushed into the ship and used his powers to defend Teresa with a variety of cooking tool and other random items. Merphy had no chance, and was soon overpowered. "Get out!" He shouted, "You two have failed me enough! I never want to see you again!" he shouted, and the pair left the ship.

Teresa decided to head back to her home blue, and gave Lobo his first kiss before leaving on a marine shuttle, but Lobo had other plans. He lived with Merphy for most of his life, he could barely remember his home or his parents, he had nothing to gain by returning home. With that fact in mind, Lobo decided to stay in the Grand Line. With experience on his side, the now 14 years old Lobo started his own act. He discovered he had a talent for ventriloquism, therefore adding marionettes to the mix to replace the company he lost when the gang disbanded. He made a marionette after Merphy, Woody, who was given a rude and loud personality. He didn't make a Teresa marionette, since he thought his poor crafting skills won't do justice to the beautiful rubber girl. With his marionettes, his powers, his magic tricks and Merphy's gambling out of the way, Lobo managed to survive with his act. He used to pickpocket his audience when income was low, giving him a small bounty. Lobo set himself a simple goal: Become a greater magician than Merphy.

Personality: The thing that defines Lobo the most is his work. He is absolutely in love with his magic tricks and has a close bond to his marionettes. He'll usually make the marionettes speak according to the personality he gave them as if they were his friends, but he isn't crazy, he knows they're not real. He took a lot of his manners from Merphy, who used to be the perfect gentleman next to people he didn't know or when he performed, but was rude and quite self absorbed in actuality. Like him, Lobo is a perfect gentleman, but his intentions aren't always pure. Lobo is addicted to smoking, and will become angry and uptight when he lacks his cigarettes. For most of his life, Merphy was Lobo's only father figure, and after leaving him, Lobo made his first marionette, Woody, share a personality with Merphy, making Woody rude and blatant. Lobo's other marionette, Pinocchio, was given a more original personality, making him a pathological liar. Although he'll never admit it, Lobo used to have a crush on Teresa, and after getting his first kiss, swore that he'll meet her again to get his second kiss, making it his hidden goal.

Ship: name of ship

Ship Flag: describe

Devil Fruit: Bara Bara No Mi
Type: Paramecia
Effect: Allows the user to slice his body into controllable slices. Bestows immunity from any form of slicing damage.

Special Abilities:

Exceptional Coordination: As a magician, a puppeteer, and a user of the Bara Bara No Mi, Lobo has to have a high level of coordination in order to make a full use of his talents. From manipulating his various sliced body parts simultaneously, to operating his marionettes and performing whatever magic tricks he claims fit, Lobo can do it all with perfect coordination, as if each of his body parts acts on it's own. This allows him to pull off complex combination moves and impressive magic tricks.

Gifted Ventriloquist: Lobo can throw his voice around, and can imitate a wide variety of voices. With this talent, Lobo can produce beautiful singing of various musical styles, making him a great singer. This skill isn't very useful in combat, but has a great impact on Lobo's puppet shows.

Accordionist: Discovering the potential in his voice, Lobo decided to mix music into his act, and what instrument would combine Lobo's voice and coordination better than an accordion?

War On Strings: This is Lobo's main fighting style, and it combines Lobo's marionette-operating skills and his devil fruit ability, along with his coordination. Lobo will operate his marionettes, each with a deadly ability of it's own, while floating his sliced hands around, giving the marionettes a full range of movement instead of being chained to his body. This method allows Lobo to attack from about every angle, and have several attacks coming from different places occur simultaneously, giving him an edge in combat. Lobo can also throw several sliced body parts into the mix as well, giving him even more options.

Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25):

Bara Bara Mystery Box: Lobo's basic use of his fruit. Lobo will slice one of his body parts off, and control it by floating it around. This move grants Lobo an immunity from all slicing damage.
Bara Bara Blow: Lobo will send his floating fist at an opponent, making his fists a long range attack. This move lacks the spark of complexity, which makes the show-hungry Lobo dislike it.
Bara Bara Stage Fright: Lobo will slice all of his body parts off, leaving only his feet on the ground and making the slices of his body float in a dome formation, with the feet being the center. This allows Lobo to surround his opponents and land rapid blows from every angle, while turning himself into a scattered target.

War On Strings:
Foul Dragon: By pulling the special sixth string of Woody, Lobo can mix the flammable gas and the lit cigarette into a powerful flamethrower. This can either be used to create a fire stream, or to shoot out fire balls by releasing pressurized puffs of the gas. The flame carries a strong stench of alcohol and cigarette smoke. Normally, Lobo will make Woody say an insult before naming the attack and firing the flames.

Black Curtain: By pulling the special sixth string of Woody, Lobo can make the puppet expel a thick screen of cigarette smoke from it's mouth. this can be sued to either create cover for an escape, or to blind and choke the enemy. The smoke is very thick and carries all the toxins of a casual cigarette smoke.

Red Lie: By pulling the special sixth string of Pinocchio, Lobo can make the marionette shoot it's sharp nose forward with explosive speed, hopefully impaling it's target. Normally, Lobo will make Pinocchio tell an obvious lie before shooting the nose out.

Mad Swing: Lobo will simply thrust Pinocchio at his opponent with full force and speed, hitting them with the rusty nails and metallic spikes that cover Pinocchio's body.

Bloody Encore: A combination move between Woody and Pinocchio. First, Lobo will cover the target with smoke with Woody's Black curtain technique. Then, Lobo will place Pinocchio inside the spoke, spinning him around with great speed and shooting his nose to every direction, hopefully hitting the target in the mad frenzy. Then, after pulling Pinocchio out, Lobo will make Woody shoot a flame into the smoke screen, hopefully finishing off whatever survived.

Weapons/Items: The Magical Marionettes, Merphy's lighter, various magic accessories such as playing cards (these have no combat use at all), a small half metallic half wooden accordion

Character Flaws: Lobo is addicted to smoking, and becomes quite angry when he is short on cigarettes. The fact that he spends cigarettes on his marionettes as well doesn't help.

Goals:
*Become a successful magician
*Meet Teresa again for a second kiss
