Appearance: Hayato possesses the ability to use three distinct forms thanks to his devil fruit enhanced weapon zoan status. The first of which being his true form, a larger metallic boomerang with a sharpened edge, well-maintained and polished with “Luna” engraved in the side in elegant font. In his “hybrid” form however he takes the shape of a larger, metallic bat with bladed wings, over twice the size of a common vampire bat in this form, large enough for Sano to stand on his body is made of living metal. His bat form, fuzzy brown and just larger than a tea cup is rarely used but is no different from a standard vampire bat

Personality: Hayato is actually quite courageous for such a small animal, flying in to daring situations with the help of Sano, but being a weapon he’s quite tame and obeys Sano unfailingly, he can at times be prone to sleepiness and a sort of “cute” exterior but remains ever vigilant, even while asleep inside Sano’s coat.

History: Created by the Luna family of arms dealers over twenty years ago from a steel boomerang and the Kori Kori no mi, given to the youngest son in the family at an early age for protection. Since then Hayato has been with Sano through all the ups and downs of his life, his greatest friend and most trustworthy partner, as has always been his purpose.

Special abilities:
-Flight; an expert flyer, even by winged mammal standards Heyato is able to dive, dash, sore, glide, hover, and turn on a dime with ease, even capable of mastering higher speeds of flight
-Echolocation; Heyato makes up for his poor eyesight with echolocation, a natural talent for bats that he has honed to an art form, able to detect things even trained eyes miss altogether.
-Devil fruit weapon’s body; as he is not a flesh and blood animal naturally Hayato is therefore much more difficult to kill, his steel body doesn’t afford cuts or burses and in hybrid form he has no bones or internal organs, just a solid living metal body, the touch of seastone or being submerged in seawater will not kill Hayato but rather revert him back in to his inanimate, object form. Electricity can stun him for very long periods of time but is again not fatal, as his metal body does not always have organic parts. As a living object he has no real need for food or drink to survive and does not actually age in the conventional sense, disease and poison also being lost on him.
-High grade metal: Hayato’s body is made of a metal which was especially crafted for durability, heat, magnetic and electrical resistance, so much so that he can regularly take bullets to his body with no real lasting damages
-Blood synthesis; a unique trait Hayato does not share with other devil fruit weapons is that he can derive power from blood, this comes from his vampire bat devil fruit, consumption of blood simply adds to his speed and wing power
-Numbing agent; as a vampire bat Hayato is able to produce a numbing agent, which prevents targets from feeling punctures or cuts caused by him, able to coat his fangs and edges with it if necessary
-Anti-coagulant; like his numbing agent Hayato can produce an anti-coagulant which prevents blood from clotting, capable of coating his edges in it to add a particularly nasty element to his attacks
-Super-vampire-bat physique; as a devil fruit weapon Hayato’s strength and speed far out space that of an ordinary bat, able to use his own form of skills, similar to a bat-modified rokushiki

Learned techniques:
-Flash flicker; A variation on both Soru and Gheppou which Hayato uses with his wings, by adapting a special pattern of beating his wings he is able to fly about at speeds comparable to Soru, perhaps even slightly faster
-Wing cleaver; A variation on Rankyaku performed with wings, made especially easy by Hayato’s wings edges in which a slash of air is fired out from either wing, an easier variation of this is to make slashes while flying past the target at flash flicker speeds.
-Distortion sonata; A technique in which Hayato flash flickers all around a target, passing them from all sides at multiple angles while making a series of shrill screeches, thanks to his high speeds and the Doppler effect this creates a situation where the targets inner ear is struck with many varying frequencies at high decibels very quickly, resulting in a loss of balance, disorientation, vertigo and dizziness, commonly used to non-violently subdue targets, the noise making it exceptionally difficult to locate Hayato at his enhanced speeds.
-Ricochet tailspin; a combination move with Sano in which Sano fires two shots and Hayato uses flash flicker to get between them spinning his body and opening his wings to redirect the trajectory of his shot even after its missed.
-Bat drill; An in air technique where Hayato dives at a target in a barrel roll keeping his bladed wings together pointed at the target while flying at high speeds, this technique can easily drill thick wooden boards. This attack can also have blades of air in motion from his wing cleaver technique to assist in its effectiveness
-Crimson sonata; a variation and improvement on the distortion sonata coupled with wing cleaver attacks aimed at the target as Hayato flies past them, resulting in a barrage of air slashes from all sides and every conceivable angle in addition to the normal effects of the distortion sonata, the result is a powerful attack from all sides coupled with the inner ear disruption, making the attack extremely difficult to counter or block effectively, further this technique can continue for longer periods of time as Hayato catches blood from opponent’s and increases his speed, this technique does require Sano to throw him first but is used to utterly subdue targets.
