Serious: The Shin Blade pirates Chapter 1 Stranded in margaritaville once again

Victor was taken a bit by suprise on the freindly greeting from the barman, not even being able to get a word in as Alfie as he was lead to the bar and sat on the nearest stool. After staring at the pint he was just given suspiciously as Alfie encouraged him to drink, the mercenary shrugged as he quickly gulped down the alchoholic beverage. As he did he slamed the mug down and commented; "Not bad.", with Widdles pitching in; "Yummy Mud!". Victor then quickly got on with buissness, anouncing to Alfie; "I apperciate the beverage but im here on buissness. You see I, and my adorabel worable wittle Widdles, need some transportation to arrive at anywhere for another client, for we are in the mercenary buissness, I supposse you would not mind if I stayed aboard until the next stowp? O rperhaps you would prefer to hire my services to poretect this, ummmm, this, errr, vessel." Widdles then felt left out of the conversation a bit and waved at Ryu, friendly saying to him; "Slashy Cutty!"

Alfie listened to this Viking's proposal and smiled when he offered to protect the pub, he knew he could handle a few unruly customers himself and was more than sure Ryu could too especially with those two dangerous looking chakrams but he figured having a doorman kinda guy aboard wouldn't hurt business.

"Hm well I'm sure me and Ryu could handle a few unruly customers but I don't see any reason for you not to help us out. I mean your a large imposing guy you could...........be our doorman. And after seeing this cute looking little guy I'm sold I'd like to give you a hand, although where do you need to go?" Alfie couldn't help looking at the cute little creature of which he had no idea what it was. "And what can I get this cute little...thing? Sorry I have no idea what he is, but he is cute, and lastly what did you think of the beer, its my own special brew, and I'm hoping it will become a worldwide favourite beer, but I'm not sure." Alfie smiled then poured himself another Foggen and took the Viking's glass and poured him another too then placed it back down in front of him.

Alfie again realized he was asking questions and not waiting for the answers as he lifted his glass and announced, "I propose a toast, welcome aboard..............I have no idea what our name is."

Having just finished with the dishes, Ryu left them on a rack to dry. He returned to the main room to find Alfie talking with a rather large stranger. Upon hearing the words "Welcome aboard", Ryu understood that the pub had just acquired a new hand. It was a good thing. The more people to defend the ship the better.

"Yes. Welcome aboard. It will be nice to have you around. You seem sociable. And your pet... um." Turning to Alfie to turn the subject away from the animal Victor brought with him, Ryu asked Alfie "What is the name of the crew? We can't be the blunt knife crew, that doesn't sound very intimidating."

Victor held onto his mug, but did not raise it. "I am Victor Yurvel, mercenary by trade. Some choose to call me Bluebeard due to my facial hair. As for the beer I believe it is quite satisfactory, I have little taste in alchoholic beverages, difficult to work when drunk. As for location, it does not matter, I merely go where there is work, though now that you have agreed to give me some I shall have to stay until my contract with you has run it's course.", the man known as Bluebeard told the barman and the waiter sternly, before adding with a voice of a pround parent; "And this cute little bundle of fun is Widdles! Oh he's a clever little chimera aren't you Widdles! Would you like some yummy milk from the nice man? What do you say to the nice man?" Widdles the chimera straine dhis face in thought for a few moments before carefully saying; "p-p-please!", then getting showered in praise from his master.

Alfie smiled at both Ryu and Victor then said, "Well he is a cute little thing, its a shame to know your not fond of my beer though, I understand why you don't like it but its still a bit of a shame." Alfie then looked at Ryu and replied, "I'm not sure but there was one name I was throwing around in my head for the crew name, but I was never sure about it, I was thinking the Shin Blade pirates? What do you guys think of the name?"

Alfie then reached down under the bar into a large bag of peanuts which he kept under the bar so he could quickly slid some peanuts into the small dishes he had on the bar. Alfie picked up a small hand full of peanuts and placed them in the dish then lifted a peanut and offered it to Widdles hoping he would take it. "Well guys its been great meeting you I'm very grateful for your help Victor or blue beard which ever one you prefer but I think we should celebrate you guys joining me sailing the seas." Alfie then popped a few peanuts into his own mouth and chomped on them noisily smiling at Ryu and Victor.

As soon as Alfie offered a peanut to Widdles, the domesticated chimera leapt onto the bar, quickly scoffing up the peanut, cheerfully purring; "Tastes Sunny!" and quickly scoffing down some more from Victor's small dish. Victor smiled warmly at his pet's enjoyment, commenting; "Well, seem's widdles made a new friend, as well as a sudden craving for peanuts." He then turned back to his gruff buissness only attitude and replied; "I belive the Shin Blade pirates is an acceptable name, it would be unprofesional for me to voice my opinon on such an important matter as I am merely hired help, and as for celebrations, I would not mind being part of such a thing, but I stress that I do not drink alcohol." He then attempted to stand riggid with order and seriousness, but caved in as he saw Widdles smile up at him with the remainders of peanut shells around his face. "Oh silly Widdles! Your only supposed to eat the nut inside the shell! You'll get an unhappy tummy if you eat the shells, let daddy Victor open them for you.", as he cracked a few of the peanuts open with his bare hands.

Alfie smiled at Victor for agreeing the Shin Blade pirates would be their name then looked to Ryu for agreement too, he wanted to be sure that the guy who came up with the idea agreed too. Alfie then asked "Hey Ryu are you up for a little celebrating too then, a little celebration for our staff coming together?" Alfie was excited to be with his new crew or staff and said to Victor, "There are some rooms upstairs by the way they are all along the right hand side the 1st one is mine then after that you and Ryu can choose between you two." Alfie smiled at them then stroked Widdles gently.

"Shin Blades. I like it. The name sounds more fitting for a crew." Ryu looked at Victor as well. "You can go pick out a room first. I don't mind which one I get. After all, i've been a part of the crew about as long as you have." Ryu said the last statement with a smile. It was good enough for him just to have his own place.

"A celebration huh?" Ryu liked the idea but didn't view it as much. It was still daytime and there was only three of them. Then again, there was nothing a bit of alcohol couldn't fix.

Alfie nodded to both Victor and Ryu happy they both accepted the name then patted Widdles gently, he climbed up on the bar with a mug slightly filled with Foggen and downed the last of it then called out, "Lets head into town." As Alfie finished his drink his right foot slipped forward from the little remains of alcohol or water on the bar and he fell landing on his back on the bar before sliding off by Victor's feet and letting out a little "ow" Alfie's back was not only hurting but so was his head he was still hung over and the pain in his head had just gotten worse. He slowly stood back up and said in a quieter and croaky voice. "To town, Victor can you please carry me?" Alfie held his head as it throbbed angrily and cracked his back as it felt like his spine had been realigned.

Tethleon was skulking around the allies because he was heavily wounded and he didnt want to have people look at him. he had a sword wound through his wings, the sword wasnt there anymore because he had removed it but his wings were now blood red. he had arrows through his chest and he thought (why doesnt it kill me already?) he was in such agony he was crying uncontrolably and he was so upset. he then walked out of the allie way he started to make his way out of town and he stumbled and stayed on his feat but as he stumbled again he tripped and as he landed on the ground the arrows from his chest burst through his chest and poke out of his back. he screamed in agony.

After helping Alfie onto Victor's shoulders, Ryu ran to grab a mop. That wet spot on the floor couldn't be overlooked. With a quick sweep, the liquids were all soaked up. Ryu returned the mop and prepared to head out. He first ran back downstairs and placed his chakrams on a counter. After all, weapons weren't needed to shop with... most of the time.

"Ready to head out when you guys are."

Victor merel shrugged at the room offer, merely saying; "I don't really mind which room I stay in, i'll just put my belongings in later.", before begining to carry Alfie on his back with Ryu's help. "Take it easy now sir, even if we do go to celebrate you do seem quite in pain." , he added as he began to walk out of the bar, heading towards Town, with Widdles keeping Alfie company, cheerfully telling the barman; "Shiny Sun!"

Alfie felt comfortable as he was being carried by Victor he smiled at Victor as he took concern for him, he liked how nice his crew were being then said, "Thanks for your concern Vic, can I call you Vic but I'll be fine I always am." Alfie gave out a little laugh then continued, "Its the luck of a drunk." As the entered town Alfie heard a scream and realised this was never a good thing to hear it sounded like one of pain and agony instead of fright he rolled out of Victor's grip and landed on his back once again on the ground. "Ow" Alfie sat up holding his back which was pretty badly bruised right now and ran off into town looking for where he thought the scream came from, running around alleyways he ended up finding a woman in shock clasping her face.

She was just happy to be proposed to Alfie smiled at the woman then said, "Congratulations" to her before he heard another scream near by and it sounded like it was echoing. Thinking about it he figured the person was probably in a narrow alley way which was fairly tall and ran off again in search for the sound, as he ran past the alley way he stopped a few steps after passing it then took 3 steps backwards and realised, "Oh shit, I didn't tell Ryu and Victor where I was going." Alfie then noticed in the darkness of the alleyway there was something or someone moving he couldn't quite tell what it was but whatever it was it was bleeding and pretty badly, he could see blood on the floor as the trail got further into the alley way more and more blood could be seen. Alfie walked into the alley way following the trail of blood curious of what it was. "Hey is anyone in here? Are you ok? I'm Alfie and I'm not going to hurt you."

As he shouted down the alley way a small group of rats ran out from the darkness over Alfie's foot and he gave a small yell out of the slight fear. Alfie continued walking up the alley way hoping to offer his help.

Victor looked shrugged as his employer asked if he cared what he called him an replied simply; "You can call me anything really, as long as theres still money flowing through.", not realising that Alfie had actually fallen off and now wandered into an alley way. "Speaking of money, I really should make a contract later on, nothing complicated just a piece of paper saying you'll pay me so and so and how long i'll be working.", the bluebearded mercenary explained as he turned his head to see his employer had disapered. Widdles shrugged at him and blurted out as if a perfect explenation, "Fell Off". Victor then quickly ran back the way they came, searching for Alfie, shouting out to Ryu as he ran; "He's probably not too far behind, i'll go get him, hopefully he hasn't landed to badly."

Ryu watched as Victor ran off to search for Alfie. A puzzled look covered his face. It was odd how Alfie fell off and neither Victor nor Ryu heard him run off. Looking forward again, Ryu was surprised to see little spots of blood that ran across the street from one alleyway to the opposite one. Ryu took the coin and threw it into one alley. It didn't hit anything and clinked around until it finally came to a stop.

tethleon heard voices he tried to crawl away before trying to pull himself up and leaning agaisnt his pike which took 3 attempts he didnt speak he coughed up blood as he moved out of the alley he was in and by accident he went towards the people making the sound he tried to grab an arrow from his own chest to use as a weapon. but as he tore it out it ripped some of his flesh and he bled even quicker. he gave out a shout in pain as he tried to point the arrow at alfie he also raised his wings to make a circle behind him, casting a huge shadow the wings made the sound of rain as blood dripped of them quickly.

Alfie felt a coin hit him in the foot and looked down at it he bent down to pick it up then looked back to where it had came from and shrugged his shoulders pocketing it. "Free money" He thought to himself. He could see some more blood still leading him to whatever it was that was bleeding and he even heard a few quiet sounds of something rubbing against the ground getting closer Alfie knelt down thinking it was an injured animal and knowing that it would run away if he stood up tall and towered over it. The sound stopped and was replaced with the sounds of grunting and what sounded to be something ripping along with pained moans. Alfie was curious what this as and took a small step forward he could see a rough outline of what it was and when he saw wing open up into the air he thought to himself, "Bird of some kind?" Alfie heard the pitter patter of rain then realised it wasn't and was a little worried at what might be dripping on the ground. Alfie didn't mean any harm to the creature and slowly edged closer and closer and called out in a calm tone raising his hands in the air. "I'm not going to hurt you." He then began to slowly realise what it was as he got closer and closer. Alfie saw blood dripping from the wings and a look of shock filled his face.

"Holy s**t!"

Tethleon saw alfie move towards him and he then knew he wasnt going to go. he beat his wings using all his energy and he said "let me go pass" after alfie didnt let him past he then stopped useing his pike as a holder he then threw the arrow in his hand to the ground. he then held his pike in a battle stance. his body was held up by his wings that were beating so hard and fast that is was createing a very strong wind down the allie. he was in such pain and he was getting dizzy and tired through blood loss. he then shouted "LET ME GO PAST". he then swung his pike out at alfie just trying to move his so he could get past. he was blind with anger. he couldnt trust anyone he knew no one, his old crew left him to die his only friends left him to die and he didnt trust people much anyway. after taking a swing he stabbed 3 times. his eyes flooded with tears as his body was breaking apart as he used it. his wings were lossing feathers as he beat them.

Alfie felt a breeze blow down the alley way towards him it was strong but he could withstand it. Hearing a boy shout let me go past. Alfie didn't want to let him go as he could see the boy was injured when he saw and heard the arrow hit the ground he saw the boy try to attack him but due to his loss of blood, energy and pain the attacks weren't as quick or strong as they would've been normally so Alfie managed to avoid them by ducking down and jumping to the left and right out of the way of oncoming attacks. hen he got closer he saw that feathers were also falling and he felt sorry for the kid who was crying in pain. Alfie said to the boy calmly, "Let me help you." I'm not a doctor but I can take you to one." Alfie only wanted to help and he realised after dodging those attacks he felt a little dizzy due to still feeling slightly hung over, his back was caching a bit but he could ignore that pain.

Alfie put forward his hand to the boy showing he had nothing and smiled as he said, "Come on you look like your hurt and I don't want to hurt you, I promise you." Alfie then removed his cloth he used for wiping the bar and tried reaching the boy's face to wipe away the tears. He felt that this kid shouldn't be in this state, no kid should be found like this and the fact that he had found a child like this made him feel sick.

tethleon stumbled back away from the man as he tried to wipe away his tears wiping them down with his own sleeve which just covered his own face with blood but it did remove the tears. he then reached into his shirt and then tore out the last four arrows and which each one he let out a sharp cry and a splash of blood came out of him. his body was filled with holes and his wings were also filled with holes and they were blooding heavily. he was also coughing up blood. he then in minuted later tried to walk the other way and as he did he tripped over his own feat and then floated down to the ground due to his wings barely councious. he didnt take alfies help because he didnt trust him like he didnt trust anyone at this time.

Ryu, hearing the cries of someone in pain, decided to find the source as well. He knew that running through the alleys was a waste of time. Instead, Ryu headed for the rooftops. He scaled the rain gutter of one building and made it to the roof. It did not take long to find the source. In the area between two buildings, a large gust of wind suddenly blew the garbage and such through the air. Ryu headed in that direction. Before the wind stopped, Ryu made it to the ledge of a building overlooking the alleyway. Inside, he could see Alfie and a winged boy. What they were up to, Ryu did not know. However, the boy was full of arrows and Ryu knew that he needed help. He did not, however, come down from the roof as Alfie seemed to already have trouble comforting him.

Ryu, instead, decided to run along the rooftops and look for Victor who was probably still searching for Alfie.

Watching the kid refuse his kindness Alfie, his back hurt as he stood up and when he had seen the boy pull the arrows out and scream he closed his won eyes as he did not want to see the boy in pain. He felt blood splatter on to his own face and stood up knowing as he watched the boy try to walk the other way that he wouldn't last long. He could see more feather's falling from his wings and blood smeared over his face instead of tears and blood drenched feathers still clinging on. Alfie followed him slowly hoping to help him. As the boy floated to the ground Alfie approached quickly to pick him up. He wrapped his arms around the boy and picked him up carrying him in front of his stomach with blood spilling on to his fingers and waistcoat. Alfie left the alley way in search of a hospital holding the bloody child, he couldn't see one anywhere and ran into town desperately looking for one. As Alfie ran around in search he eventually found a small building which used to be a hospital and he rushed in side whispering, "Don't die just yet."

As he rushed inside he managed to find a couple of cleaners just cleaning out the shelves, they looked horrified when they saw the casualty. Alfie laid the boy down on a bed used for patients and opened the cupboard as quickly as he could looking for anything to help he looked at the items before him and realised he had no idea what to do.
He popped his head out into the corridor and asked, "Do any of you have any idea how to treat wounds?!" One cleaner raised her hand and Alfie shouted, "well get in here please!" As the cleaner ran in and Alfie rushed her over to the boy he whispered to the boy, "Don't worry everything is going to be just fine." The cleaner worked on the boy as fast and panicky as she could before turning to Alfie sweating and horrified and said, in an exhausted tone, "I think he'll live senor, I used to watch the doctors perform operations when this place was a hospital but since last week the Government claims we are too poor to have one on this Island." Alfie nodded to the woman understanding what he had just been told and thought, Thats ridiculous.
Too poor, they won't happy till this island dies off.

As Victor walked along down the street looking round for his new employer, Widdles commented disheartedly; "Man's gone!" "Hmmm yes, he has dissapeared, theres no trace ofm him. Very good Widdles! Clever boy!", Victor praised his pet who purred in happiness as his master stroke his head. Th mercenay then noticed someone leaping across roof tops to his suprise, which in fact was Ryu. "Ah Ryu, any luck finding the captain? I have had little luck so far.", Victor asked the waiter.
