| Name: "Bamboo Sword" Brewmaster Age: 15 (Note: That's an old age for a Panda. Pandas live up to 20 years maximum in the wild, but they can live longer in captivity) Bounty: First Bounty: 5,000,000 Second Bounty: 15,000,000 Third Bounty: 25,000,000 Species: Animal; Panda Occupation: Swordsman, Former Captain of the Nature Pirates Allegiance: Pirate Home Village/Ocean: East Blue Appearance: - Spoiler:
Brewmaster is a tall creature. His height is around 2.5 meters and his body is muscular. He weighs a lot, but that is because of his big sized body. Apparently, he weighs 180 kilograms. That is not seen easily, though, as he is very tall. Also, his body is wide because of the training he received when he was captured by the World Government for the Nezumahan Project. As for his face, it is similar to a panda's. His eyes are surrounded by black panda spots and his ears are normal. His face looks slightly big, but that is just because he is overally big in size. He has a serious look on his face most times and he is rarely to never seen smiling. Apparently, when he is with humans, his face looks quite disgusted because of the suffering he has received because of them. Even if he tries to hide that and do not show his hatred about them, it is difficult for him to do so. As a result, because this world is inhabited by humans, mostly, he has this face most of the time because he happens to encounter them more often. His appearance is rather strange. Brewmaster wears a completely black robe that has no spots or anything on it. It is a simple black robe. However, he also wears a light grey robe above it. The robe is tied with a greyer colored belt and makes a "V" at the chest, revealing a part of the black robe that Brewmaster is wearing on his body. Also, he wears light brown colored sandals that show his feet. Finally, his appearance is completed with the sword his carrying at his waist. The sword is carried inside a bamboo made seath and has a bamboo handle. The weapon is an ordinary weapon but with a bamboo handle. It has no difference with other katanas. History: - Spoiler:
Brewmaster the Panda, originally originated from East Blue. He grew up in a small island in which pandas used to reside. There, he lived a peaceful life, eating leaves and herbs and making a quiet life. However, one day, the island he lived on entered the World Government. In no time after the island entered the alliance, the forest was attacked by Government agents and five different kinds of animals were taken away. Out of these animals, the person that got taken as a panda sample was Brewmaster, who was immediately moved to the Grand Line at an island called Nezumahan Island.
There, Brewmaster experienced the "Nezumahan Project" at a young age. The Nezumahan Project, a secret project of the World Government, was an experiment that would turn the animals taking part in it into the deadliest fighters of the World by teaching them different martial arts. For many years, Brewmaster was suffering the effects of the project. He was injected with strange serums, he was given the IQ plant to eat every day and the humans showed him how to use a sword for at least eight hours per day. Three years after the project started, the results were very clear. Brewmaster developped human intelligence and gain the ability to speak the human language. On top of that, the Panda seemed to remember exactly how to use a sword from what he was shown. However, that was not the end of the Project. Apparently, the Government decided to continue with it to see the limits of the animals. The Project kept going on for two years... As it went, though, Brewmaster wanted to get out more and more and he started losing his human conscience. He was getting angry easily and was ready to attack at any moment.
But, luck had other plans for him. One day, one of the scientists working on the project made a tragic mistake. Unfortunately for him, he accidentally left Brewmaster's cell opened and Brewmaster managed to escape out of the cell. For a few hours, he was walking in secret at the laboratory. The World Government agents were searching for him but he managed to escape them. This was the only chance he got to leave and he would never miss it. Without even thinking of his tired body, he searched for an exit... And after searching for quite a while, he managed to find it. As he got out, though, and looked at the sun that was shining, he thought of the other animals. If he left them at their fate inside the lab, he would regret it for his whole life life. He would never forgive himself if he did that. And so, without even thinking for a second time, he rushed in the lab and started a rampage.
At the beginning of his raid in the lab, he was lucky enough to find a sword. With a sword, he was pretty sure that he would succeed at freeing the other animals. He was the animal that was trained at swordsmanship, after all. Upon grabbing the sword he found, he started moving from cell to cell and beating down the guards. With his great swordsman skills, he stopped any guards that were attacking him and in the end he managed to free all the animals from the cells. The more animals he freed, the easier it was for him to free the others, as those who were freed would help him as well. And so, the story ended with Brewmaster ruining the Nezumahan Project and putting an end to the inhumane experiments that the World Government conducted. With these actions, Brewmaster earned his bounty. He earned a bounty of 10,000,000 Beli, and the Government claimed that he was a pirate dressed as a panda, rather than a talking Panda. Also, they hid what they did and gave him a lower bounty than he would normally get so that they would prevent people from suspecting what really happened...
No animals stayed on the island in order to live, except from Brewmaster. At least, that was what he thought. While living at the island, he did not happen to encounter any of these animals for over a year. Meeting them, though, was not as easy as it seemed to be. After all, the island was surrounded by small mountains. The chance of meeting the few animals of the Project that lived there was extremely small, especially because Brewmaster used to move only in the nights so that he would not be seen.
For over a year, Brewmaster lived alone on the island. One day, though, his loneliness was about to stop. While searching at the night for some plants to eat, he managed to find a stray dog. The dog was probably abandoned by somebody from the people of the village and because the night was cold, he took him at the cave he used to live. The same night, he started talking to the dog. As Brewmaster was a panda, he could understand the animal language and whatever the animals said. As a result, he befriended the dog and since then they started living together. He gave the dock the name "Mangix".
One day, while Brewmaster was out of the cave along with Mangix, he found a book. He picked the book. Apparently, it was a book that was giving information about Devil Fruits. Brewmaster started reading it and so he found out many things about Devil Fruits. The Panda grew interested in these fruits and decided to search for one, one day.
And now, Brewmaster lives at the mountains of Nezumahan Island, while gathering supplies along with his pet, Mangix, and while crafting a small raft to leave from the island quietly...
As soon as Brewmaster crafted the small raft he needed, he and Mangix were about to leave the island. However, before they did so, they happened to run on an animal that also gained human intelligence because of the Nezumahan Project. That animal was a grizzly bear that knew martial arts and was called Griz. From the moment they realised that they shared a same past, the two befriended each other. While they were talking, though, both of them listened to shots coming from the village. They run to the place and they found out that the World Government was attacking the village. Both of them took on their agents and stopped a few of them.
While battling, though, the hologram of a man appeared in front of them. The man, a bald man, claimed to be the leader of the Nezumahan Project. He provoked Brewmaster and made him angry, while he revealed to Griz that he found what he wanted and told the guards to retreat. Then, while in the basement, he contacted a superior of his and claimed that the pirates were responsible for attacking the village and that they were the ones to kill the villagers. As a result, Griz and Brewmaster got a bounty increase of 5,000,000 beli each, making Brewmaster's bounty 15,000,000 beli and Griz's bounty 5,000,000 beli.
Later, the crew traveled to another island. There, they met another pirate crew that was consisting of zoan users. Also, while on the island, Brewmaster met a monkey named Tunkstone, who also happened to be a part of the Nezumahan Project. Together, the animals started taking on the pirate crew. While battling those pirates, Brewmaster learned about an animal martial art. The seven "Arts of Nature", a powerful fighting style that was made for people with animal-like characteristics. Even if his enemies used that battling style, in the end the Nature Pirates managed to defeat them. The crew stole the ship of those pirates and they were about to depart. However, something else happened. Griz decided to stay back and Mangix to accompany him so that he would not be alone. Even if Brewmaster did not want it, in the end he accepted the decision of his two friends. And so, Brewmaster left from the island with a new ship, new knowledge and a new comrade, while also losing two of his good friends.
And now, the crew is heading towards Drum Island, while Brewmaster also tries to master the seven "Arts of Nature"... The captain is putting up a great effort in order to learn them and he has learned how to perform the "Primal Dash" move, without mastering it, though.
While the crew was heading towards Drum Island, though, something unexpected happened. Apparently, the crew was found by the World Government and Brewmaster was captured and was moved to another island named "Metal Brain Island". On that island, Brewmaster would met a person that he knew very well... The head scientist of the Nezumahan Project, Bonard Scott Ludwig had set up a lab there and he used to create machines and contact experiments on islands. Upon landing on the island, Brewmaster learned all those things and during his rage, he managed to break free from the agents that took him there, escaping once more from the clutches of the World Government that had caused him much suffering. However, he could not leave the island like that. Bonard was experimenting on animals... He would have to find him and stop him. As a result, Brewmaster decided to stay there in order to put an end to his evil deeds over animals.
The talking panda rushed into the laboratory in order to attack it. He fought with countless cyborg animals and other robots which Bonard created and he eventually made his way to the insides of the basement. However, after he reached the deepest parts of the basement, a few people who were there used a sleeping gas on him and so Brewmaster fell unconscious, only to be found by another intruder in the basement who seemed to be searching for something; the pirate captain named Dorian D. Herron, the captain of the Bare Fist Pirates.
As soon as Dorian fell on Brewmaster, this caused him to wake up. At first, Brewmaster could not understand in which room he was, as he was sleeping for quite a while. However, it was eventually found out that they were actually in Bonard's room. Bonard suddenly appeared and he attempted to crush them with a machine at first. Brewmaster and Dorian, who had asked Brewmaster to join his crew, managed to survive. Upon being asked to join the Bare Fist Pirates, Brewmaster declined the offer, saying that all humans were scum and that he could never trust a human because of the bad things they had done to him and the other animals on Nezumahan Island. However, as the time passed and the two of them had to battle the cyborg animals of the island, the panda realized that he had no other choice but to team up with Dorian and his crew, if he wanted to take down Bonard and take his revenge for the Nezumahan Project and the other animals which suffered because of him.
As the agreement was finally made and the two of them took care of the cyborg animals, though, Bonard made his final movement. The mad scientist appeared inside a giant mecha and he was about to destroy anybody who was around. A big battle started with Brewmaster assisting the Bare Fist Pirates. During the battle, Brewmaster started realizing that not all humans were bad after all and that Dorian was not like most of them... He was completely different, he did not see the animals as creatures which he could use as tools. As a result, when the Bare Fist Pirates finally took down the giant mecha and Dorian asked Brewmaster to join his crew one more time, Brewmaster smiled and decline, this time not because he hated him for being a human but because he did not want to be a burden for him and his crew. The man had helped him free the animals of the place and he wanted to pay him back... And not only that but also he showed a behavior that was completely different from that of regular humans. A new friendship was starting which would affect Brewmaster a lot to the point that he did not view all humans as bad people anymore... One mystery remained, though... Was the head of the Nezumahan Project, the one who actually thought of the idea and asked Bonard to do it, there as well?
And so, Brewmaster started sailing once again by himself in order to find out more information about the project of Nezumahan Island and started sailing around the Blues this time, searching for other animals who were at the project so that he would ask them what they knew and extract some more information to track down the guys who were responsible for it. Also, during those months that he is sailing around the blues, he has defeated several marines and even destroyed some ships, resulting in a bounty increase at 25,000,000 Beri. Personality: - Spoiler:
Despite the fact that Brewmaster is a kind-hearted animal, he also is a human hating Panda. He hates humans to the point that he likes beating them down for no reason. In many occasions he has rampaged through villages and damaged humans badly because of that. However, he would never kill any human as he believes that they also have a heart and that if he killed them, he would be like them. That makes him similar to many fishmen, who hate humans because they treat them as monsters. As a result, he gets along well with fishmen and is willing to accept them in his crew, knowing that they suffer a lot because of the arrogance of the human species. Also, a huge exception in this are Zoan Type Devil Fruit users, who do not earn his respect but also do not earn his hatred because they are also animals. Brewmaster has mentioned that he could get along well with a human that has eaten a zoan Devil Fruit that belongs to the Kuma Kuma no Mi series.
Brewmaster cares a lot about other animals. As a result, he never ate meat in his whole life. Even if he starved to death, he would never allow himself to eat meat because he would behave to himself like he commited a sin. That helped him a lot at developing his discipline. As for what his diet is, he usually feeds himself with any plants he finds and knows that they will not cause him any harm.
Brewmaster also is a loyal friend to everyone he is friends with. He will never abandon a friend no matter what and will forgive them for something they do on most occasions. If what they do was accidental, he will never ask them to apologise or say that they are sorry. Instead, he will let it pass and will never say a thing because he knows that they did not mean it. If his friends do a bad thing while knowing what they are doing and have no other choice, he will scold them for that but he will forgive them. Finally, if a friend of his kills a creature, even a human creature, he will get mad at them and might turn his back on them, unless they truly regret their action.
In the social relationships part, Brewmaster is extremely serious. He will rarely to never make a joke and he will rarely laugh over anything. Instead, Brewmaster will usually speak about the rights of the animals and about how his crew should be united together. His serious personality, though, does not mean that he does not have a sense of humour. If he listens to a good joke he will say if it was good or not, even if he won't laugh with it. The only times he is seen smiling is whenever he is using his sword abilities to their full extent, something that rarely happens because if he does so, he is afraid that those that will face off against his sword will get fatally wounded.
Whenever he is fighting, Brewmaster is a serious battler. He will never underestimate an enemy, even if he knows that their overall strength is weaker than his because he might be overpowered from them due to their strategies. While he lived in the mountains, he used to see strong animals getting defeated by smarter and weaker animals and so he is trying to not treat himself as a superior to his enemies. However, his seriousness is limited to the point that he uses his skills to damage his enemies with non-fatal wounds and not with wounds that might cause them death. That sometimes makes him look weaker than he normally is. He tries to improve his skills, though, and be able to use his full powers without causing fatal wounds, just wounds that are enough to knock the enemy unconscious.
Another part of the panda's personality is that he is a very hard worker and tries to help his friends. Even if he is the captain of his own ship, he is also eager to help the crew with their responsibilities if he knows that he can help. For example, he is eager to help the helmsman of the ship at steering the ship, but he is unable to help his navigator at navigating because he is lacking off navigating knowledge. If he does anything wrong while he helps, he will apologise to the crew for his action and he is eager to listen to them yelling at him for that. At other aspects, such as training, he never slacks off and trains as much as possible every day so that he will be strong enough to achieve his goal of getting revenge on the World Government for what they did to him and the other animals of the "Nezumahan Project".
Except from the fact that he beats down humans for no reason, Brewmaster is a calm creature that is always ready to listen to the others. Even if he has his own problems, he will go to their friends and listen to them in order to give them his advice. On the other side, he will rarely say what is bothering him to the others, thinking that if he did so, he would worry the others and would be a bother to them. That contradicts with the part of his personality that is responsible for having Brewmaster listen to the others, but he does not understand that at all, unless he is told.
Finally, Brewmaster is a creature that protects his friends, even in the greatest dangers. He is eager to switch opponents when they battle with somebody so that they will not get harmed and will interfere if he sees that they are in trouble, even if their pride does not allow him to. However, in his own battles, he does not let his friends interfere, even if he gets beaten by his enemies, saying that he is battling to protect them and if they enter the battle they will be in danger.
Also, after an interaction with the captain of the Bare Fist Pirates, Brewmaster understood that not all humans were bad and that some humans were actually good. That made him started interacting with more humans during his travels, without beating them down. Ship: Flying Bamboo Ship Flag: - Spoiler:
Devil Fruit: N/A Type: N/A Effect: N/A Special Abilities: -IQ Echantement; Human Intelligence and Speech: Because he was fed with IQ for very long, Brewmaster gained human intelligence and human speech. -Animal Power: Being an animal, Brewmaster is slightly stronger than normal humans. -Seven Arts of Nature: The seven Arts of Nature is a battling style that was originally made for zoan users. However, as Brewmaster is an animal himself, he is also able to use it. However, as he learned about it very recently, he is only able to perform only one of the seven techniques and he cannot use it perfectly. Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25):One Sword Style - Slash: Brewmaster runs towards his enemies with his sword and slashes them at the chest. One Sword Style - Air Slash: Brewmaster slashes the air in front of him with his sword, launching an air blade towards his enemies. One Sword Style - Stab: Brewmaster runs towards his enemies and stabs them with his Bamboo Sword. One Sword Style - Air Stab: Brewmaster performs the Stab technique on the air, launching a bullet of air towards his enemies. The bullet is not as strong as the Air Slash technique but extremely faster and precise. One Sword Style - Unseath Dagger: Brewmaster's swiftest technique, even faster than the Air Stab. As Brewmaster unseathes his sword, a dagger sized air blade starts travelling towards his enemies. The air blade's speed is slightly greater than the Air Stab's making this his fastest technique. The air dagger's power varies depending on how much Brewmaster unseathed his sword. If he unseathes the whole sword its power is as strong as the power of the Air Slash technique. The disadvantage of this technique is that he has to seath his sword completely to reuse it, making the usage of his other two normal ranged techniques (One Sword Style - Air Slash, One Sword Style - Air Stab) more frequent than the usage of this technique as it takes him some time to seath the sword back and then unseath it again. One Sword Style - Brewmaster Melee Version: Brewmaster's current ultimate melee technique. Brewmaster writes a "B" with his sword on the bodies of his enemies. As soon as he seathes his sword, the wound opens and the enemies start feeling the effects of the technique, while a wound shaped as a "B" appears on their chests. One Sword Style - Brewmaster Range Version: Brewmaster's current ultimate range technique. Brewmaster writes a "B"with his sword on the air. As soon as he seaths his sword, an air slash in the form of the letter "B" moves towards the enemies with the great speed of the Air Stab technique and with the great strength of the Air Slash technique. One Sword Style - Circle: Brewmaster's latest technique. The panda moves his sword around himself, forming a circle. Then, he sheaths it and a circular air slash starts spreading from around himself at the area around him, hitting anybody and anything around Brewmaster. The attack has a big range and radius but the air slash spreads slowly. Primal Dash: Primal Dash is one of the seven "Arts of Nature" that is the equal move to Soru. By performing five fast consecutive jumps (after a jump ends and the user lands, he jumps again, it's not a jump like Geppou), the user increases his speed tremendously to reach Soru speeds. However, as Brewmaster has not mastered the technique yet, he is only able to run with half the speed of the Primal Dash technique. After he started traveling around the blues, though, Brewmaster finally mastered the technique and now he is able to keep up with superhuman speed users. Weapons/Items: Bamboo Katana (A normal katana with a bamboo hilt) Goals: Bring down the World Government for the inhumane experiments they conducted on him and the other animals of the "Nezumahan Project" and create a world in which every creature lives together with each other peacefully, by becoming the "Pirate King".
