Name: Raulin Denys
Age: 27
Bounty: 5oo.ooo (Theft)
Species: Human
Occupation: Navigator
Allegiance: Pirate, the Dire Desperados
Home Village/Ocean: Grand Line
Appearance: Raulin is a fairly tall man, standing at a height of 6'1". Raulin has very, very, very short brown hair that's only barely noticeable. His eyes are a clear, middling green. He is lean, but this is usually hidden by what he wears. He normally wears... a short sleeved shirt over a long sleeve shirt, with a sweater over the short sleeved shirt, and a coat on top of that, and a overcoat over that. And that's just his top half. His bottom half starts with long pants, then shorts, then long pants again, followed by sweatpants. His feet are pretty much the only normal thing about him, and he's wearing sneakers. Beside all this, Raulin has four long multiswatched and colored scarves wrapped around his neck. One would assume he'd overheat like this, but he's normally quite comfortable... though he will begin to strip once he gets into a fight with people. Another interesting tidbit about Raulin is that fact that his right arm is entirely metallic. The entire arm is made out of a smooth, well molded chunk of iron, and has been attached to his shoulder using his Devil Fruit.
History: Raulin's beginnings weren't really that emininent. He was the son of a man who worked for the Marines as an informant, constantly moving from island to island with his mother. Raulin's mother was the head of a moderately successful restuarant chain. It had about three or four branches open at a time, depending on where the Denys family went and how accepted their food was. Of course, Raulin was raised as a cook, in order to take over his mother's businesses when she died. She died surprisingly early, of natural causes (as in disease) when Raulin was twenty. Of course, his father was rather... inept when running a business, so he was out when it came to deciding a heir. It fell on Raulin to take over... until another complication hit.
The Denys restaurants were swallowed up by a far larger chain that destroyed all their business and bought all their stores. It didn't end with just destroying their business: the larger chain's executive destroyed the Denys family's credit, most of their savings, and their reputation as well. Raulin was far more insulted than his father was: not only had the executive destroyed everything his mother worked for, he had insulted Raulin personally by destroying the chain while he was in charge of it! Raulin's revenge mostly consisted of him repeatedly going to the central hub of the executive's operations and swearing at anyone who went inside. However, Raulin's deranged dedication (if you could call it that) paid off in the end.
One day, when he was around 23 (about three weeks after his family lost everything), he learned that there was a surprise shipment in for the executive. Raulin heard that it was extremely rare and valuable, and figured that he could easily steal it away and make the executive suffer for it. So that's what he did... or at least attempted to do. In the spur of the moment, Raulin's planning wasn't particularly advanced, so he simply rushed the people guarding the shipment. His abrupt and straightforward method DID result in him obtaining the package: however, his lack of a good escape plan also resulted in him losing an arm. A guard sliced off his right arm at the shoulder as Raulin ran away with the package: the extra adrenaline boost helped Raulin escape and hide away for a short while.
Raulin just wanted to know what was in the package before he lost too much blood: what was inside surprised him. He had heard of Devil Fruits, but had never seen one up close. Maybe... maybe eating it would give the executive one last 'screw you' before Raulin died. Raulin (obviously) took a bite, and was disgusted by its taste. Raulin then found that his wounds were starting to clog up: the iron in his blood was sealing the severed arteries and veins, preventing further blood loss. He continued to experiment, and found that he was able to form a prosthetic arm out of iron. With his new power, Raulin found he could do more than create metal limbs: he also had the ability to make weaponry as well.
This is when Raulin's "power crazed mode" set in. Raulin began to travel the world (after brutalizing the executive), challenging everyone he came across to a match. He destroyed Marines and Pirates alike, always growing stronger and stronger with each fight. This continued until Raulin had the... misfortune to face a Marine who used a style he had never seen before. The Marine's ability to use more than two swords at a time astounded Raulin, and the total and utterly futile matched showed Raulin exactly how strong people could be. The Marine let Raulin off with a 'warning', if you could call it that. Raulin's pride was irreparably damaged, and he swore that he would get stronger and defeat the Marine later.
Raulin continued his quest for more strength, borrowing the concepts from his humiliating defeat and incorporating it as his main style of combat. Again, Raulin's strength was growing further and further, and he knew he still wasn't strong enough to best the Marine. Later on, he found a pirate, one Avis Ridley, who used a somewhat similar style to him and the Marine: she could levitate her swords around her in a manner similar to the ultimate technique of the Marine. If he could beat her, he'd have a chance to defeat the Marine! Of course, Raulin challenged her, and the fight lasted far longer than Raulin had anticipated.
As their duel wore on, Raulin found his clothes slowly being torn to shreds by misplaced but very near slashes. First his outer layers went, and while he couldn't ever get a good hit onto her, she managed to keep cutting him and his steel body. Eventually, near the end of their fight, somehow it had happened that Raulin's pants and shirt were cut off, leaving only his underpants behind. Although he was stunned by the fact that he had managed to lose almost all of his clothing, Raulin continued his attempt to best Avis: unfortunately, she was so disgusted that he managed to lose his pants as well that she finished the fight, cutting Raulin additionally and making him fall to the ground, defeated.
She left him there: alone, bruised, and insulted. By the time he became conscious again, she was gone. All Raulin knew of her was her name: and that made him mad. So, so, so incredibly mad. Beaten soundly by a girl, and then left behind? No, he wouldn't allow it. He tracked her down, and discovered that she was in a crew of pirates, not as the leader, but as a plain old subordinate. He managed to join the crew, and blended in with the intent to discover how Avis fought, and how he could beat her.
Two months after he joined, Avis gave Raulin a task many would deem impossible. Determined to get in Avis' good graces, and slowly growing to like the woman, Raulin left to complete the task she assigned. It took him eight months, but in the end, Raulin succeeded in his assigned task. Unfortunately, Raulin couldn't find her again: he hunted for five months for her before he finally heard rumors of the Dire Desperados and their captain, one Avis Ridley. Finally with access to knowledge as to where she was, Raulin set off to find her, oddly obsessive as to her well-being.
Personality: Raulin is rather exciteable and somewhat hardheaded, as he is rather prone to requesting a fight from people. While Raulin won't greet people with a request for a duel, he does sort of go overboard when dueling. While fighting, Raulin will disgarb himself based on how powerful his opponent is... with only someone of Avis Ridley's level getting him down to his underpants. Besides his dueling nature, Raulin can behave quite childishly and over excitedly, rushing around to do things without the slightest hesitation. Unfortunately, his somewhat childish behavior leads to REALLY childish grudges, sometimes leading to terrible and dark occurances happening. Raulin will humilate himself freely, but when someone ELSE humiliates him... there's a problem. He will carry grudges for a very long period of time, but these grudges have been known to give way to childish and rather freaky obsessions.
Ship: Varies.
Ship Flag: The Dire Desperados' flag.
Devil Fruit: Tetsu Tetsu no MiiType: Logia
Effect: "allows user to create object of metal, manipulate matal, and become solid metal, even when not useing there power uswers retain the properties of metal, no metal based attack can harm this user (bullets, swords, ect.). althogh the user can become metal they cant alther there shape or when metal at all."
Special Abilities: Infinite Swords Style: A unique sword fighting method Raulin learned from fighting against a swordsman who used it against him in battle, this sword style involves the creation and/or use of hundreds of swords at a time, usually launching them up into the air before having them embed themselves in the ground. This style relies on a mixture of erratic movements and mobility to become extremely dangerous, because of the large number of swords laying around the battlefield. The user of this technique is also able to meld defense with offense once they begin to use the Beware the Steel.
Infinite Shields Style: A technique created by Raulin for use when he was on the defensive, or if he was needed to work in tandem with his captain, Avis Ridley. It involves Raulin creating many shields of iron, and then levitating them around himself using his Devil Fruit. It is difficult for Raulin to control too many of them at the same time. This technique is usually done with eight shields around Raulin, and a number of others scattered around the battlefield. This allows Raulin to switch between the shields he uses rapidly and fluidly in order to keep his opponent on their toes.
Creator's Hands: In addition to his two direct combat styles, Raulin also has another style he calls the Creator's Hands. It involves him forming a creature or object out of iron, and then giving it a life of its own when it is nearby him. He uses this technique to create large sea monsters and mammals out of iron, which he then uses to attack people without getting his own hands dirty. He can also use Creator's Hands to lock someone inside a portable jail cell, to restrain them for a period of time.
Absurd Leg Strength: Raulin has improved the strength of his legs, enabling him to jump upwards of fifteen meters into the air, as well as run extremely fast. Raulin is also light on his feet, making him agile and quick to dodge attacks.
Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25): - Infinite Sword Style:
1.0 Field of the Warriors: Raulin unwinds his scarves from around his neck, before throwing them into the air. He then creates a large quantity of sword in midair, sending them all plunging down towards the ground. As they fly, several of them wrap the scarves around their handles, and then plunge into the ground, creating a fence of sorts of scarf-wrapped swords around the main battlefield.
2.0 No Longer Melee: Raulin swipes his main sword down to knock other embedded swords into the air, before striking them and launching them at his opponent. The swords can be launched at speeds upwards of 70 mph with enough strength put behind them.
3.0 Keep Out!: Raulin grabs onto the end of one of his scarves, pulling it up to dislodge all the attached swords from the ground. He will then swing the scarf around, using it as a long, flexible sword. He can also quickly maneuver to place the swords back in the ground and edge his opponent in.
4.0 Steel Bites: Raulin grabs onto one of the scarves attached to the swords, and pulling upon it, yanks it into the air and flings the swords wrapped up in it at the opponent.
5.0 Steel Hurts: Usually following Steel Bites (but it isn't necessary), Raulin picks up his speed and begins to throw swords at his opponent, usually reaching his opponents just as the thrown swords do, and he attacks them with several more swords from behind.
6.0 Step By Step: Raulin will start jumping from sword to sword, throwing spare swords down to act as additional stepping stones, leading to him finally jumping over his enemy to bring a full-power somersaulting slash down on his opponent's head.
7.0 Beware the Steel: This is when Raulin gets serious. He will take hold of one of the swords he has, and then use it to scoop other swords out of the ground. He will then continue to bat them into the air, eventually turning the area around him into a cluster of spinning, dangerous weaponry. Approaching Raulin is extremely dangerous at this point, and even attacks from behind will normally damage the attacker more than Raulin. This also gives Raulin several swords easily available for use.
7.1 Run and Hide: Raulin swings his held sword, smashing five swords from his Beware the Steel stance at his opponents. Acts like No Longer Melee, but with more swords.
7.2 Don't Get Too Close: Raulin spins while knocking his defensive sword structure around him in a circle, usually used to widen the area of Beware the Steel temporarily to damage a nearby opponent.
7.3 Swear On Your Grave: Raulin launches himself into the air while conducting Beware the Steel, before smacking all the swords around him down towards his opponent. This is a dangerous and somewhat risky move to perform, as it 'deactivates' Beware the Steel temporarily until Raulin can gather new swords.
7.4 Try Getting Closer: Raulin quickly ducks low after sweeping his sword to send several swords around him at an enemy. This is used to try to damage enemies using air blades on Raulin, as the blades he hits will cut through an air blade and disperse it.
7.5 The Stars Will Fall: Raulin knocks all the swords around him into the air, and follows by flinging all the other swords around him into the air as well. He then jumps into the air and sequentially knocks each successive sword down at his opponent, usually following with Punishment From the Sun.
7.6 Punishment From the Sun: After using The Stars Will Fall, Raulin finally falls down himself, hiding in the glare of the sun, and trying to split his opponent in half with his handheld sword.
- Infinite Shield Style:
1.0 Field of Guardians: Raulin will raise his hands into the air before generating many shields, which rain down before lodging themselves into the ground.
2.0 Mobile Outpost: Raulin levitates eight of his shields around him, creating a barrier he can move to protect himself from nearly any angle.
3.0 Crushing Defeat: Raulin will grab hold of a shield and rush at his opponent, bringing another shield driving into his opponent from behind with telekinesis. This move sandwiches the enemy, making them vulnerable to other attacks, as well as damaging them through blunt force.
4.0 You Won't Escape: Raulin manipulates the shields around the battlefield into a latticework of shields that form a large box around him and his opponent. This is generally used to (you guessed it) prevent escape.
4.1 Stay Put: After using 'You Won't Escape', if someone tries to use the walls of the box to protect themselves from back attacks, the shields comprising the wall will jut out, pushing the person forward and making them stumble.
5.0 Active Siege: Raulin's most powerful offensive attack in this style, this move is performed by Raulin sequentially lifting up three to four shields at a time, attacking the opponent from all sides with a barrage of shields.
6.0 Fortifications: Raulin's most powerful defensive move in this style, this move is performed by Raulin gathering all his shields towards himself, layering the upon each other to form a large ellipsoidal shape around him. The shields are placed to accommodate for the cracks between other shields, making it near impossible for anything to edge its way around the shields into the core. Unfortunately, this robs Raulin of his sight for the duration of this move.
- Creator's Hands - Living:
1. Sea Serpent: Raulin forms a large, snake like sea serpent out of iron, which can swim in water by moving over its surface extremely quickly. The Sea Serpent is also extremely dangerous to ships, as it can ram through wooden ships and ruin them with ease.
2. Panther: Raulin forms up to three panthers out of iron, and he can use them to attack those in his vicinity with their claws and their teeth. He can also utilize them as transportation.
3. Jackal: Raulin creates a pack of up to eight jackals of iron, manipulating them all to take down a large enemy or a group of enemies. They can also be used to carry stuff around for him in their mouths.
- Creator's Hands - Nonliving:
1. Jail: Raulin throws iron filings at his enemies, manipulating them into a ring around the opponent. This ring then forms a circle of bars that go straight into the air before bending down to create a dome cage around the opponent.
2. Solitary: Raulin simply creates a lot of iron, which he forms into a solid walled box around his enemies to seal them in.
Weapons/Items: N/A
Character Flaws: Raulin loathes being called a failure, and this leads to him wanting to murder anyone who dares call him such. Raulin can't control iron he didn't make, but he can separate metal from other substances: this makes other swordsmen able to continue to fight against him.
Goals: Defeat his first superior, and protect Avis Ridley.
