Appearance: Katelyn is a not a particularly intimidating-looking young woman, standing at only 5ft 3 with round features that greatly resemble that of a bisque doll’s. Her skin is a creamy, eerily pale porcelain, her lips are small and rosebud-esque and her eyes are large and brown, surrounded by long eyelashes. She always wears her blonde hair in the same childlike ringlets, held back from her face with a pink ribbon. Katelyn wears a pale pink long coat with a frilly trim and a white lacy Lolita-style dress beneath. This is complimented by a set of thigh high white lace stockings secured by garters, a pink ribbon necklace and a pair of neat white high-heeled shoes- though she will exchange these for a pair of pink ballerina’s pointe shoes when heading into battle. Whenever she is called to “get her hands dirty” for any reason, she also wears a set of white silk gloves to keep her dainty fingers clean. Katelyn is also rarely seen without her signature pink parasol dangling over her arm or shading her head in bright sunlight.

History:
Katelyn was born into a life of wealth but discipline. Her father was a marine lieutenant and her mother was a ballet dancer. When Katelyn was five, her mother was involved in an coach accident that permanently prevented her from ever having children again as well as severely injuring her legs and making it impossible for her to continue dancing.
With no possibility of any sons ever being born, Katelyn was forcibly thrust into marine training at the age of twelve. At home, her father gave her extra combat lessons and made sure that she was well-versed in naval strategy. Katelyn passed her marine training at the age of seventeen though her Lt Ceres, afraid for the life of his only daughter, used his power as a lieutenant to ensure that she was only ever sent to the front lines against weak pirate crews and during mild uprisings. Her father was fiercely loyal to the cause of the World Government and instilled this same strong loyalty into his daughter.

Running in conjunction with all of her marine training, her mother- Madame Ceres- insisted that she begin ballet lessons at the age of seven. Madame Ceres decided that if she could never dance again, she would train her daughter to become the prima ballerina that she once was. She was trained vigorously by private dance instructors as well as her own mother, soon becoming graceful, poised, supple and elegant- a stark contrast to the brutality of the battle drills that she was undergoing every day at the naval base.

Katelyn served as a medium and surrogate for both of her parents’ wishes; she was expected to become an elite ballerina as well as the perfect marine ensign. She lived her entire life under immense pressure and constant training. At an early age, she felt that she was an object of value to her parents rather than a loved daughter. Both types of the training that she endured promoted austerity and a lack of emotion and soon, Katelyn learned to suppress her emotions as they seemed useless and a hindrance to her advancement as both an elite dancer and a marine officer.

In private, Katelyn began working on a method of fusing her marine combat work with her ballet training. She also became enamored with the private undertakings of the World Government that she had sworn her loyalty to, as a marine. While rootling through her father’s files one day, she came to know about Cipher Pol and was greatly intrigued by what she saw as a group working outside of the law to protect the interest of the World Government. Somewhere in her mind, the idea of doing wrong to do the ultimate right struck a definite chord.

Only months after she completed her marine training, her father was called to put down a pirate raid and to help lead an assault on a fleet of pirate ships. He lost his life in this battle and Katelyn was left distraught. Despite the pain she felt after losing the man whom she had looked up to as her greatest childhood mentor, the young woman’s extreme self discipline and her desire not to constantly upset her bereaved mother, prevented her from being able to outwardly express that pain.
It was also around this time that Katelyn’s hatred of pirates grew even further and she privately swore to do everything she could to contribute to the annihilation of piracy on the seas as a whole.

Also with her father no longer there to stand between her and more violent battles at sea, Katelyn was soon sent on much harder, more dangerous assignments.
The constant suppression of her emotions and her grief soon created mental problems for her. In public, she began to appear desensitized and stoic, ironically worrying her mother even further.
When she was nineteen, her mother arranged for her to be sent away from home to a private dance academy as she believed that if Katelyn spent some time away from home with girls her own age, she might be “cured” of her lack of human emotion.

However, not wanting her father to have died in vain, Katelyn had no intention of going to the dance academy. Unknown to her mother she went straight to CP4 and presented herself as a trainee agent. Her unique combat style and lack of any emotion or empathy when it came to killing impressed her superiors and her near-obsessive, vengeful hatred of pirates made her willing to take up any assignment that involved the slaughter of them. Her appearance and demeanor also made it easy for her to act as an intelligence agent and taking on a new identity was never an issue for her. It was around this time that she first designed her signature spiked parasol.
During her time as an agent, Katelyn came into contact with a former CP9 agent and at a chance encounter, she unwittingly managed to save his life (simply by pulling him from the water after a shipwreck and pummeling his chest for a few minutes as she had been taught to do at marine first-aid briefs).
In gratitude he offered her any kind of information she wanted as retribution. Katelyn desired to know more about CP9 and their rumored string of assassins- saying that she wanted to join them, to be of further use to the World Government.
The agent informed her that CP9 agents are trained from childhood onwards and that in order to join them, she must learn Rokushiki- a martial art style unsuited to her. However he also told her of the World Government crew: Grey Code and advised that she go and find Captain Katal Eika.
Katelyn still keeps correspondence with her mother via letters but keeps it a firm secret that she has become an agent for CP4, allowing all those at home to believe that she is still training to become a world famous ballerina.


Personality:
Katelyn is a porcelain doll in both appearance and nature. She is a natural stoic rarely shows any kind of strong emotion in public. In general conversation, she speaks in a soft, breathy monotone, her expression perpetually childlike and innocent.
Her quiet, girlish, gentle exterior is nothing more than a facade. Beneath her skin lurks a fierce endurance, vengeful nature and a complete lack of sympathy for anyone who is against the cause that she fights for. Katelyn has a kind of eeriness about her as during any kind of combat situation, she can retain the same passive smile and doe-eyed gaze even when under intense pain or fatally wounding an opponent.
She has a vague kind of respect for anyone who fights against the menace of piracy and absolutely no scruples when it comes to lying about who she is in order to complete whatever task she has been assigned to complete.
On a lighter note, Katelyn is a cultured young woman who enjoys the finer things in life such as classical music, white chocolate, rainbow lollipops, games of chess and storms at sea. She also often has an innocent curiosity towards people of other cultures.

Special Abilities: Has extremely good balance and poise due to her ballet training and walks with incredible lightness- her delicate gait making it easy for her to follow someone or to sneak into a room without being noticed. She is also trained in basic hand to hand combat from her days in the Marines and can fire on target at average distance.
Katelyn has developed her own style of “Dancer’s Combat” in which she fuses her graceful ballet exercises with hard-hitting fighting moves.
Her constant dancing en pointe (on the tip of her toes) has also given her powerful endurance and strength in her legs.

Learned Techniques:
1. Fouette no Suraiso- Katelyn spins around quickly, flicking her leg in an outward motion and kicking her opponent mid-spin.

2. Battement no Kurakkingu- Katelyn suddenly swings her leg upward at a full 180 degree angle and drives her foot into the throat of her opponent to break the neck bone.

3.Tobikau no Bara- Katelyn leaps into the air, her parasol extended and drives it sharply into the stomach of her opponent.

4.Ningyo no Kikku- Katelyn digs the spike of her parasol into the ground and uses it to lean on as she swings herself around to kick her opponents in a circular fashion.

5.Mujitsu no Shisha- Katelyn approaches her unsuspecting without a trace of hostility, her face childlike and innocent at first. She drives the spike of her parasol into the foot of her opponent, impaling them to the ground. While they are stuck into the ground, Katelyn then thrusts the heel of her hand up into their nose, breaking it.
