Bounty: 90 Berries. But only because of her former alliance to The Sea Sirens (NPCs). The Marines are aware that she’s a fairly minimal threat to the peace on her own.

Species: Human/Mermaid (but very much so a 60/40 rather than a 50/50 as her father was not a merman.) Note: In my imagining of the character, while fishmen, mermen or “mermales” look like Arlong and the likes- females of the species, “mermaids”, resemble the traditional depiction of a woman with the hindquarters of a fish. The fact that Delphi is only half-mer could also play a part in her looking the way she does.

Home Village/Ocean: North Ocean (Port Delfino, originally)

Appearance: Young woman standing at 5ft 6 inches and weighing in at 10 stone. She’s not the skinniest girl on the sea but her bust and hips are well-sized to make up for it. Has light-brown skin, long tawny brown hair to her waist and green eyes with a spray of freckles above her nose. Can often be seen sporting a loose white shirt with a black corset over it, a pair of black red pants, black boots, red waistcoat and a gold chain around her neck. Her ears are pierced with small gold hoops; she wears a holster with a pistol and also carries a small-strap bag for herbs, seashells and anything else that she might happen to pick up around the place. Now and then, she also sports a fake-eye patch...but this is only to look a little more “pirate-y” rather than anything else.
In her mermaid-form, which appears once in a blue moon, she gains a green-scaled fish-tail with four fins (two main and two vestigial), each lined with a soft red tint. Her scales stretch up as far as her waist, her breasts usually strategically covered by her hair (when she’s lucky) or a shirt and her neck is lined with small gill folds.
Whether you consider the above description to be “pretty” or not is your choice- but Delphi generally doesn’t get any “special treatment” for the way she looks, so she ain’t any great beauty. She’s just a little cute.

History: Beatrice “Delphi” Delfino was born in the small port town of “Del Fino” in the North Ocean area. Her father was a sailor who had come into the bay and her mother was a mermaid (yes this IS possible....don’t make me go into mermaid-mating mechanics). Her father left her mother after their short love-affair and her mother reluctantly had to her leave her ashore after her birth upon discovering that her child could not breathe underwater 24/7...plus the racist tendencies of Arlong and such towards humans would make it rather difficult for her to bring up such a child within their community. The hybrid baby was taken in by a nearby convent. She was named “Beatrice” after St Beatrice and gave her surname as “Delfino” after the town where she was born, however she has never liked her first name and insists on being called “Delphi.” Her mermaid abilities were considered largely taboo and as such, she was kept from the outside world, learning about herbs and medicine in the hospital wing of the convent for the first few years of her life. The convent was raided and attacked by an all-female pirate-crew known as the Sea Sirens, when she was 12. Their captain, Skyler Montemarte, saw potential in her mermaid blood and abducted her, taking her to sea with them as a ship’s doctor. She served as useful to them, being able to dive far beneath the ship to locate treasure troves, spot potential ship-sinkers...and scrape barnacles off the hull. Her “storm sensing” abilities also came in handy for the navigator. Delphi made great friends among her crew-mates, though she never really excelled as much of a pirate. Her best friend, Marine, the first-mate led an unsuccessful mutiny against the somewhat corrupt Captain Montemarte. When it was brutally put down, Marine was shot and Delphi became disillusioned with the crew that she once thought to be her “sisters.” Following the advice of another friend, she fled from the ship to escape Montemarte’s paranoia and suspicion of being another leader of the mutiny.
She managed to evade her former crew by stowing away on a merchant ship but now is mostly alone, wandering harbor towns and avoiding Naval interest.
Delphi’s only relationships in life came from her former crew and the convent that she grew up in. She has no other family, no lover and no other friends.
Recently she has joined the White Rose Pirates under Captain Romeo X. Dugall (WatersCalling) as a ship's doctor.

Personality: Delphi is a curious girl who loves exploration and mischief but has never been one for violence or fighting. She admires the ideals and pride in being a pirate but has never really considered attacking someone for money or power without the orders of her crewmates due to her normally easy-going, non-violent nature. She’s innocent because of her upbringing but not naive to the world and rather clumsy, making her fighting rather weak.
She has a greedy streak and enjoys looking for treasure but prefers to hoard what she finds rather than spending it. Delphi also has a special weakness for pretty seashells which she collects almost obsessively.
Naturally, she has a deep love of the sea and everything to do with it- so she feels rather uncomfortable when on land for too long. She likes to talk to people, always inquistive because of her conservative upbringing and desiring to learn about new cultures and new people. She also loves a challenge to her medical skills and as such, has no problem helping random strangers with their illnesses and injuries in exchange for whatever they can pay.
Delphi has a learned hatred of the Naval forces and a slight distrust of other pirates...however she is willing to give her loyalties and whatever else she can to anyone who can give her something that she needs. i.e. her loyalties now lie with the highest bidder.
This is both a major strength and a major weakness for her.


Ship: Formerly the “Lorelei” of the Sea Sirens. Currently the "Coastsurfer" of the White Rose Pirates.

Ship Flag: The "Coastsurfer"'s flag has a white rose in the middle with bones crossing behind it.

Devil Fruit: None. This girlie is pure.

Special Abilities: Her major ability is that she can become a full mermaid and breathe underwater as well as swim at great speed for about 24 hours every few days. Due to her mermaid genes being in an awkward ratio, however, her mermaid abilities have two major downsides. ONE: she can only become a mermaid for an uncontrollable period of time and once that’s up, she’ll return to being a human, regardless of where she is. TWO: her transforming relies on her mood- so if she’s agitated or panicked, she’ll find it harder to transform than when she’s calm.
As a mermaid, she’s a strong swimmer. However as a human, she’s not very co-ordinated.
Can also sometimes “sense” when the sea is about to get rough or stormy.


Learned Techniques:
Delphi has an extensive knowledge of herbs and medical cures to make up for her lack of hand-to-hand fighting abilities.
She also has a great knowledge of poisons, laxatives and drugs- she can kill, but mostly in an indirect way.
She can shoot on target but only at a close- to- middle distance.
Other than that, Delphi’s fighting abilities are pretty weak.

Weapons/Items: Just a small pistol and a pouch of various herbs and poisonous dusts.

Goals: To survive and get by, without running into her former crew- possibly by finding work on a different crew. Also hoping to find some nice seashells.
