Name: Alviss Saiga
Age: 23
Bounty: 20,000,000
Species: Human
Occupation: Shipwright
Allegiance: Pirates
Home Village/Ocean: Crossroad Village/South Blue
Appearance: Alviss stands at 5’10”. He has reddish-brown hair that he lets grow a little wild. He does, however, keep it trimmed so that his neck is still at least mostly visible. Alviss has emerald green eyes. His skin is lightly tanned and is toughened up by the work he does. His arms especially are covered in scars from fights he has fought and the intense training he put himself through. He is also very well muscled, which is once again due to the work he does, but is also helped by the weapon training he has been through. Despite all of this, Alviss’s facial features are still young-looking and he has often been mistaken for a teenager. Alviss dresses for whatever the occasion may be, though his normal attire consists of a t-shirt and shorts. His footwear is a pair of metallic boots that have cushioning on the inside to protect the foot from the hard metal itself. Alviss also wears a pair of work gloves which, like the boots, are made of metal with cushioning inside. The gloves, however, are segmented at and around the joints for freedom of movement. The last part of Alviss’s attire consists solely of a pair of battered, old goggles which he keeps up on his head except on the occasions when he is working.
History: Alviss was born in Crossroad Village as the son of two shipbuilders. Both his mother and father were deeply into their job and they brought their three children, Alviss being the middle child, into the family business as soon as they were able. Alviss himself was five when he started learning how to fix and build ships. His older brother was not really into it and his younger sister liked it, but she was more interested in her social life at school. Alviss, however, loved every aspect of it. Unlike his sister, he didn’t even bother having much of a social life until his teenage years. By then it was too late for him. Having a girlfriend or even a best friend was an opportunity that had been not just missed, but lost completely. Alviss simply didn’t have a clue as to how to deal with people.
Things changed as the years passed, just like they always do. Alviss’s older brother was trained to be a warrior, wielding a spear that he had received from one of his uncles. He then left home and became a Marine. When he returned three years after that, he was already a lieutenant, such was his skill. Meanwhile both Alviss and his younger sister stayed at home and worked alongside their parents. Alviss got some face time with some customers, directly taking orders from them and telling them what could or could not be done to fix or build their vessels. This taught him some much needed social skills. In a similar manner, his sister was beginning to settle down more and prepare herself for her life after leaving home.
Then, tragedy struck. Alviss’s older brother was at home on leave and a pirate, who’s captain Alviss’s brother had defeated, tracked him there. Thinking that he could catch the Marine Lieutenant off guard, this pirate attacked him in the middle of the night. Alviss’s older brother fought to defend himself and managed to kill the pirate, despite his ambush. Unfortunately, the pirate had eaten a devil fruit, the Inu-Inu no mi; Model: Coyote to be exact, and he left Alviss’s brother with a fatal wound. Understandably, the battle woke everyone else in the house, but they arrived far too late. Alviss’s brother was dying. Alviss approached him and was going to help him, but his brother stopped him. His brother warned him of the dangers of devil fruits and asked him to take his spear. Then he died. They buried him the next day.
Overcome by grief, Alviss went and hid himself away from the world. He rarely ate and even more rarely left his room. For the most part, he lay on his bed, holding the spear tightly against his chest. When he finally emerged from his shell, more then two weeks later, Alviss had come to a conclusion. It was not a pirate that had killed his brother, but devil fruits. Had devil fruits not existed, then his brother would still be alive and that was the truth of the matter. He could not be persuaded otherwise and began an almost obsessive campaign against all devil fruits. There wasn’t much he could do on his island, so he began to make plans to leave.
A couple of days later some Marines arrived. They were led by a Vice Admiral Higgins, who had been Alviss’s brother’s superior. He knew how valuable the spear was and demanded that Alviss return it. Alviss refused on the grounds that it was his spear now and not the Marine’s. The Vice Admiral ordered his men to arrest Alviss and Alviss ran. He nearly died that day a hundred times over, but by some miracle Alviss made it out of town in a small rowboat, in which he had already been planning to leave.
Ever since then he has been on the run. For the most part he has remained in the shadows, training with his new weapon, knowing that if he ever came out of hiding; Higgins would come swooping down on him in a heartbeat. His bounty is the product of having wounded several Marines before leaving his home island, evading capture for two long years, and because the Vice Admiral personally requested his bounty to be higher then it would have been.
Personality: Alviss a lively person. He keeps on the move and hardly lets himself take any breaks other then when he sleeps at night. He still carries the weight of the loss of his brother and sometimes it shows in his expression. Alviss is hardly the most social person, but that is to be expected. He is much more fond of animals, with which he never has to be right or wrong. He can just be and that is all that matters to them. Despite this, Alviss is not a loner. Sure, he holds things back from people and doesn’t go marching into crowds unless he absolutely has to, but he tends to stick to more populated areas. Alviss is also still obsessed with his work as a shipwright. During his first year on the run he avoided it, but after that he could simply not resist it any longer. And it is not just that he enjoys building and fixing ships. No, to him being a shipwright represents being part of a family since everyone in his could do the job.
Ship: Rowboat
Ship Flag: N/A
Devil Fruit: N/A
Type: N/A
Effect: N/A
Special Abilities:
Strength: Alviss is far above average in strength. He can crush rocks in his fists or smash through walls with a single punch, such is his power.
Speed: Alviss is also above average in speed. He can’t run at an insane speed for extended periods of time, but he can move almost lightning fast in short bursts.
Endurance: Lastly Alviss’s endurance is high. This is partly from the work he has done and partly because of his training. He can take a severe beating before finally going down. (I will not abuse this. He gets hit hard in a vital area and he will go down. He isn’t invulnerable or even close to that.)
Learned Techniques:
1. Iron Cannon: A powerful thrusting attack with his spear.
2. Steel Cyclone: While standing in place, Alviss spins his spear so that the blade cuts into the ground. As he does this, he begins moving the spear around his body so that it cuts into the ground on all sides. The point of this attack is that he loosens the dirt by cutting into it and then the wind from him spinning his spear pulls the dirt into the air creating a smokescreen that lasts for a single post. The smokescreen hides everything that is within eight feet of Alviss.
3. Titanium Cross: Alviss moves at high speed, dashing past his opponent, and delivering two perpendicular cuts with his spear.
4. Silver Bomber: Alviss drops from the sky, stabbing downward with his spear.
