Manta Maimou

Manta is the younger brother of the pirate captain with the 50,000,000 beli bounty, Maximillion Maimou. Since he was a child, Manta was not treated the same way Maximillion was. He was treated like he was garbage by his parents because he was not as intelligent as his brother and looked like he was the most idiot and stupid person in the world compared to him. On the other side, Maximillion did not think that way. Despite the fact that he had no feelings for many people, the evil boy cared for his younger brother and the Manta cared for his brother because of that to the point that he would do whatever Maximillion said. However, the fact that he always did what Maximillion said was what corrupted his personality. Maximillion would use him in his evil plans when he was a child and so he started developing an evil side. The evil side inside him found a shelter thanks to his hatred for his parents and so he started turning into an evil person like Maximillion.

When he entered his "teen" years, the young boy watched at his brother training at the Shockwave Style by himself. As a result, in order to be able to assist his brother Manta started training himself as well. However, unlike Maximillion, Manta liked dirtying his own hands with the blood of his enemies and so he trained into a battling style that had to do with close-combat and slicing through the enemies' bodies. Apparently, he started training himself on using the scythe, a perfect weapon that fit his evil personality. Meanwhile, while he had been training on the scythe style, Maximillion also learned him how to use the Shockwave Style from his feet, allowing him to launch Shockwave from his feet for offense, defense and support. In no time, Manta turned into an extremely good fighter who was slightly weaker than Maximillion because of the difference in their age.

Some time later, Maximillion departed from their home island and Manta was left alone. His parents, still behaved to him like he was an idiot and always compared him with his older brother, making his hatred for them grow. He planned to kill them a lot of times, but he did not. Instead, he decided to leave his home island and start his rampage across the various islands of West Blue with a small crew of weaklings he gathered, while also searching for his brother. In his very first rampage, Manta and his crew destroyed a small village on a small island and killed all of its citizens by cutting their heads while they also stole as many food supplies and jewlry they could. That gave Manta his bounty of 10,000,000 at that time.

The first months of his rampage on West Blue, Manta killed countless people and turned into a greedy person. He wanted as much treasure as possible and started forgeting the reason he sailed across the seas. Moreover, he started thinking that his brother was dead as he had not seen him for a long time and he did not have a bounty on his head to see that he was alright. As a result, he vowed himself into making Maximillion's dreams real and take over the world for himself...

The pirate formed a simple plan to achieve that goal. He would annihilate anyone that would come right in front of his path, starting from the marines in the island he was at. The Scythe Pirates attacked the Marine Basement and annihilated everyone inside it the same way the crew started its rampage. Then, they burnt the marine flag and put the flag of the Scythe Pirates as the flag of the basement to declare the place as their own territory. For a while, the pirate crew was leading the place and it grew stronger and stronger in an extremely fast rate

In one of their attacks at nearby islands, the pirates happened to find a Devil Fruit. Manta did not want to eat it, but he did not want to give it to his subordinates, either. Instead, he forced a scientist to make his scythe eat the Devil Fruit, granting it the abilities of the Hiyoki-Hiyoki no Mi. After that, he was able to launch beams from his scythe that temporary turned people into chickens. That ability proved to be deadly as Manta easily destroyed any of his opponents that opposed him, even if they were stronger by turning them into chickens and killing them afterwards.

As a result, Manta took over a few more islands and his bounty increased to 32,000,000 beli, one of the highest pirate bounties in West Blue. However, the more his bounty increased, the more attacks he would receive by marines and by pirates. Manta was able to pull off many of the enemy attacks by turning them into chickens and killing them but after a while he started getting tired. At least once a month he would be attacked by pirates who wanted to take over his territory, by bounty hunters who seeked his bandage or by marines who wanted to stop the pirate from destroying more places. However, he always managed to successfully defend his territory from all the intruders but the price of his victories was high as he lost most of his comrades and crewmates in his battles.

One day, though, after the Atlantis War, Manta learned something that would change his life forever. His brother, Maximillion, was given a bounty for crimes he commited in the Grand Line. That meant that he was not dead. And so, the man abandoned his territories and headed for the Grand Line with his fastest ship in order to find his brother and join him in his adventures. In no time, the man passed from the reverse mountain of West Blue and arrived at the Grand Line. He would finally live his adventures and make a name in the most dangerous sea in the world under the name of the only person that cared for him: His brother's name!

And so, now, Manta is sailing in the Grand Line, searching for his brother while killing anyone who happens to come in front of his path and possesses a threat to himself and his brother. As a result, his bounty slightly increased once more and now he has a bounty of 40,000,000 beli for various crimes he commited, including killing, stealing, burning and destroying.

After travelling for a while, Manta arrived at Water 7. The place piqued his curiosity. While there, the man divised a plan to attract Maximillion to the place if he happened to be around. He infiltrated a small marine basement, consisted of very weak marines that was actually there to watch over a small part of the town and he killed them all after turning them into chickens. Then, he used the marine Mushis with a different voice and claimed that the pirate with the bounty of 40,000,000 beli, Manta Maimou, had been caught and was at Water 7. He knew that if his brother learned that he would come at his place in order to save him and so he went with that plan. However, instead of waiting in the basement, the fuss outside picked the attention of the man. Apparently, Unholy was attacking Water 7 and a battle between him and the Steel Village took place. The "Chickenman" with Connie on his shoulder approached and the smell of the blood and the corpses made him go on a rampage. At first, he battled with Fate, a member of the Unholy Kingdom. After a quick battle Manta cut his head down and he managed to kill him. Before he continued, though, he was approached by somebody he never expected to meet. Vice-Admiral Major Payne.

The two of them engaged in a battle. Although Payne was stronger, Manta kept dodging. Hopefully he possessed enough speed to dodge and so he was okay. His plan was to turn him into a chicken and cut his head. However, that could not work. They were battling for quite a while and Manta was not eager to leave without killing Payne. However, Payne was attracted by Unholy and along with Gary O'Daniel, they engaged in a battle with him. Meanwhile, Maximillion arrived at the place and also got in the battlefield... Manta saw him battling with a member of the Unholy Kingdom. The younger brother was surprised to see him using a strange devil fruit that allowed him to copy and reproduce elements from his pads. With that, he copied the steel lava of Unholy... That was a strange Devil Fruit indeed...

Despite his attempts, Manta failed to do anything to Unholy because his metal deflected his chicken beams while his left hand was burnt by Unholy's steel lava. There was nothing he could do at all. Hopefully, Iken, the captain of the Steel Village managed to stop Unholy. However at the meantime, Maximillion used his second pad on the venom of a marine captain. This made Maximillion go all-out and so a battle between him and Payne started. Payne used different methods in order to stop Maximillion such as catching Manta and blackmailing Maximillion that he would kill him. However, Maximillion managed to save him. In the end, he ended up battling the 300 marine troops Payne sent. With his scythe, he turned many of them into chickens and killed them and damaged other ones. His rampage would end up soon, when Maximillion surrendered himself for an unexplained reason. Despite the fact that the chances of him escaping were high, he still surrendered. Manta could understand that something was going on, however, he did not ask anything and instead cried for having his brother caught by the Vice-Admiral. The words of Maximillion to come and get him made him feel better but still he could not stand what happened at that time.

The next two days the crew prepared to attack Impel Down. Manta was appointed as the temporary captain of the Dusk Pirates. The other crew members started training and he had a short battle with Frank. These events made Manta feel warmer to the crew. However, the most important events these days was the meeting with Suigo and a few other members of the Black Cross Pirates as well as the joining of Chusei and Alexander in the crew. Suigo and Manta talked about some things and everything was okay in the end. And now, the crew is moving towards Impel Down in order to help Maximillion escape from the hell he has been placed into.

After freeing Maximillion from Impel Down, many incidents happened inside the Dusk Pirates, with Manta as one of the main protagonists of those events. Alexander's betrayal on the crew, as well as the joining of many members happened under Manta's rule, while Maximillion could not control the crew because he was absent. However, even after freeing Maximillion and regaining their former strength, something was about to happen. The crew found itself engaged in the Battle of Calm Belt. Many marines rushed to attack the Dusk Pirates and so the pirates put up an epic battle against the Vice Admiral Derge Namikaze Sr., the Meteor Heroes and of course the Hooded Knights, a crew that Maximillion had faced in the battle of Water 7, as well. In the end, Maximillion made the ultimate choice. After Happy Dusky was destroyed by the marines, he agreed to let his crew leave while he would take on the whole marine fleet that was attacking him. As a result, Manta left with the rest of the crew and Maximillion took on all the marines in an epic battle at the sea's surface, without a ship, despite the fact that he was a fruit user.

After the events of Calm Belt, Manta, Quincy, Ellen and Frank moved towards Katana island, an island near the Calm Belt. There, the crew was hiding until the news spread that Maximillion Maimou was found at the beach of the island. Eventually the crew reunited and as the crew left Maximillion destroyed the whole town of the island in order to mark his return because of the fact that he was believed to be dead after the battle of the Calm Belt. The pirate had just returned to the scenes and the Dusk Pirates would be revived once again.

The next destination of the Dusk Pirates was Market Island, a place where they found many goods for their new ship. The materials were brought by the crew to Drum Island and the new ship, Colonel Royale, was eventually built and prepared to sail towards the New World. Before setting to the New World, the Dusk Pirates visited one of their allies. Maximillion met with Roberto D. Wally, announcing to him that even after his defeat at the hands of the "Flying Hermit" he still treated him as an ally as he was a man with great strength and great influence. The two captains talked with each other and had a party, before the pirates finally set sail to the New World.

The first destination of the Dusk Pirates in the New World was Raijin Island. While Maximillion, Manta and Lappy, another new member of the crew, guarded the ship, the new swordsman of the ship, Nathan and Ellen, Wako, Quincy and Frank moved towards the island in order to take it over and claim it as the territory of the Dusk Pirates. There, the crew got engaged in a battle against a powerful man: Moe Kuroama. And while the others were away, Maximillion had a discussion with Manta about himself eating a fruit that Maximillion needed in his plan to become the pirate king... Eventually, after a long conversation Maximillion fed the fruit to Manta and so Manta has now a control over a new Devil Fruit ability: The ability of the Tago Tago no Mi.

However, the crew of Moe would not leave the Dusk Pirates like this. The almighty crew, known as the Unknown Pirates would attack the island. Manta was eventually defeated by the boss of those pirates and he was carried by Maximillion most of the time. After his defeat at the hands of his enemy, Manta decided to train himself even more. As a result, after those events, he trained to become stronger and he added a few new techniques under his arsenal. Also, he adopted a new style at his dressing.

After Maximillion's battle with Samakage Iken, Maximillion vanished when he was trapped by Koga's weapon abilities to another world. Koga disappeared along with his weapon and ever since that day, Manta went after him. He took over the remaining members of the Dusk Pirates, who were considerably weakened without Maximillion, and he started looking for intel about Koga's location. Thus, he took over the whole network Maximillion had built around him, except of course the parts that belonged to the extremely dangerous members of the Black Cross Pirates. Despite the good relationship between the two crews, Manta and the rest of the Dusk Pirates knew that they would be forced to become subordinates to the former Yonko, Wally. Nowadays, he is residing at the island of Permeus along with some members of the Dusk Pirates, working along with a former associate of Maximillion, shipping magnate Sir Ulrid Fisherking. He is in search of information about Koga's whereabouts so that he can find him, kill him and finally free Maximillion to restore his empire.

Manta is a person that does not hesitate at killing anyone who seems to possess a threat for himself and his brother. He is willing to go as far as destroying a village to achieve his goals. The only thing that can restrain him is a talk with his brother. If Maximillion tells him to stop, he will stop immediately and apologize for what he did. However, he still has a soft side inside him. He cares for children and does not want to see them suffering. He sympathizes with children whom their parents do not behave well. Also, Manta is quite greedy and he likes gathering treasures. He is a believer of the phrase "Money makes the world go round." and he would sell himself to the authorities to get the prize for his bounty. However, he also respects his freedom and so he has not done that... yet.
Another thing that Manta likes is cooking. He is an expert cook and he enjoys cooking. His favorite food is chicken and people tend to call him a canibal because he can turn people into chickens as well... They believe that he gave his scythe that ability so that he would turn his targets into chickens and eat them. However, he is not a canibal. He is only turning people into chicken when he wants to kill them for something they did.
Another aspect of Manta's personality is that he is willing to punish anyone against the law, except from his comrades of course. However, he believes that most people are criminals even for stealing food. That usually results him into killing many people and causing a chaos, something bad for a pirate as he gets spotted.
The most wierd thing about him, though, is that he is always carrying a female chicken with him as his pet. There are suspicions that he turns himself into a male chicken and he acts as her mate but that is not verified yet. That suspicion is also supported by the facts that he is willing to kill anyone that will try to harm his chicken and by the fact that the she usually gives birth to eggs while there are not any male chickens around. The female chicken's name is "Connie".

-Shockwave: Manta points towards his enemies with his feet and launches a Shockwave attack towards them.
-Shockwave Rush: Manta uses his signature shockwaves from his feet while running, enchancing his speed to the point that it matches Soru.
-Shockwave Fly: Manta uses his signature shockwaves continuously from his feet to the ground to make himself levitate temporarily.
-Shockwave Kick: Manta kicks his enemies with a kick that is echanced by his signature shockwave.
-Scythe Slash: Manta swings his scythe quickly, slashing anyone in front of him.
-Scythe Cut: Manta cuts his victims with his scythe, causing deep wounds.
-Scythe Headcut: Manta places his scythe at the neck of his targets from behind, cutting their necks.
-Scythe Windslash: Manta swings his scythe quickly and launches an air blade towards his enemies in order to cut them to pieces.
-Chicken Beam: Manta launches a beam from his scythe that turns his targets temporary into chickens.
-Chicken Garden: Manta launches a blast from his scythe on the ground that explodes. Anyone who got hit from the explosion is turned into a chicken.
-Chicken Hunter Mode: Manta gathers the energy of his scythe's beams on the blade of the scythe, making it glow. Afterwards, anything that the scythe hits is turned into a chicken.
-Shockwave Machine Gun: Manta launches a barrage of Shockwaves in a few seconds to cause termendous damage in an area. This attack, though, tires his legs a lot and it cannot be reused for 6 posts. Manta first used this technique in the Battle of the Calm Belt.
-Chicken Cannon: Manta's current ultimate technique with his Blood Spatter. Manta moves his weapon forward and forms a chicken beam. However, unlike the normal Chicken Beam, this one lasts for 3 posts. It starts at the edge of his blade and can extend up to 15 meters, making Manta able to slash his enemies from a distance with it to turn them into chickens. This technique was developped by Manta after the invasion in Impel Down.
-Chicken Egg: Manta touches the chicken beam that his scythe creates with his hands and so he turns into a chicken for 1 post. However, as he touches it with his hands, he gets the ability to launch egg projectiles made from the chicken energy, for the remainder of 4 posts thanks to his Devil Fruit ability. Those egg projectiles are made of the energy of the Hiyoko Hiyoko no Mi and so they turn those that they hit into chickens.
-Burning Egg: Manta burns his hand with fire. From that point, thanks to the powers of his Devil Fruit, he is able to launch fire projectiles that look like an egg for 5 posts.
-Steel Egg: Manta touches the steel blade of his scythe. From that point, thanks to the powers of his Devil Fruit, he is able to launch steel projectiles that look like an egg for 5 posts.
