Weapon Name: "Niflbrandr"

Description: Niflbrandr is a massive double-bladed sword, nearly 6 feet in length from tip to tip. On each end of it's foot-and-half long hilt is a massive greatsword blade. They are made of a pale, lustreless (non-shiny) silver metal, and always appear to be lightly frosted, with cold steam rising from the blades.
Special Abilities: The sword is a powerful and sturdy alloy, cold-forged from the ore from one of the mountains on Shiv's home island, which gained renown for it's incredibly strong and durable metals. The ore itself is a type of naturally occurring tungsten alloy created by the impact of a meteor into those mountains in the distant pass, creating the veins of mineral that are mined to this day. It is roughly as strong as seastone, though lacks any of the special abilities.Additionally, the weapon was given the powers of the Hie Hie no Mi, allowing the user to cool the sword down to very low temperatures at will. It can also create ice, though the volume of ice is dependent on the amount of water available, and the sword converts ice to water slower than would a person using the Hie Hie.

History: When Shiv stole a ship to escape his home island, it had been loaded with the most prime and select samples of ore from the island. Holding onto it as a keepsake, Shiv eventually found a smith of incredible talent to work the ore into ingots, and in turn work those into a weapon of amazing durability, sharpness, and power. The Hie Hie no Mi was used in the forging of the blade to allow the metal to remain cold even during the forging, which allowed it to preserve much of it's original strength and unique qualities.

See this people?what a weapon thread should look like.
However, I must ask if there's anything you might want to add to techniques? And how much ice can be created?

It's just a reference, with changes. It's a tad difficult to describe things at times.

Gore - Clarified how fast it can convert water to ice, and slammed a water-availability clause on to limit ice production. It could still produce it from ambient moisture, but would need much more time or an extremely abundant source of moving air.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean on techniques...? I'm planning on using it in some of Shiv's techniques, but the sword itself doesn't do much without the master. If you meant Shiv, then yeah, I've still gotta get around to working out the techniques there, when I've got time tonight.

A-Dude - Gael summed it up pretty well for me. I'm not the sort that would ever just post a canon picture and say "<-luks liek dat" or anything. The picture I provided is a reference photo, something that people can use to get a general idea of the nature and shape of the weapon I have in mind. Then, from that visual starting point, they apply my changes and finally have a much truer to life mental image of the weapon that I'm trying to get across.

I added some extra language to clear this up; if even using canon reference material is against the rules, however, I'll gladly remove it.

Well, I guess you could call it lazy, but I feel like that's being unduly negative.

As for words, I included a bunch of those; even so, many people might not imagine exactly what I had in mind. This visual aid makes sure that, along with my words, they're seeing just what I'm seeing.

As for MS Paint: I lack any such skill to make a sword that looks as good as the one in that picture using that software. Pictures made with MS Paint, except when done by very experienced artists, generally tend to look flat and unrealistic. It wouldn't really help me get my ideas across any better. I'd personally rather people didn't know what my weapon looked like than have them imagining whatever two-dimensional, fake-looking MS Paint weapon I'd end up making.

For the sake of keeping things simple and problem-free, I've removed the picture. People can just imagine whatever they'd like to here. Still, seems odd to me to call the use of a visual reference "lazy."
