Tayko

Life starting out for Tayko could be described as nothing other than ideal. Born into a loving family on fishman island he lived happily with his mother and father for 9 wonderful years. His childhood on fishman island is something Tayko will always be thankful for, if things had been different he might have lived life as a simple hunter like his father, but as it turns out fate had very different plans. Life would never be the same after that horrid night.

It was an ordinary day and there was no signs of the coming devastation. The people of fishman island worked happily as the day went on just like any other. Then at dusk all chaos broke loose, 3 pirates ships breached the island at once and started their assault, attacking everything in sight. The attack was merely a distraction though, because a different ship was breaching the islands opposite side with the intention of kidnapping fishman. In the panic Tayko and his mother got separated from his father. In a fury to get back to his wife and offspring Tayko's father assaulted several pirates in his search, leading to his death. Tayko wouldn't find out about his father's death until many years later. His mother and himself where rounded up and forced aboard a prison ship along with dozens of other fishman. In the midst of the chaos filled ship Tayko's mother started going into labor. This was seen as troublesome to the captain and organizer of the raid. So after the woman gave birth to Tayko's brother he ripped her off the floor by her hair and threw her overboard, her drowning screams are the last memories Tayko has of his mother. He held his brother tightly as the new born fishman cried heavily, He held onto the baby firmly as the captain tried prying it from Tayko's grasp. The Child was forced from Tayko's arms with a quick jerk and he was left empty handed except for a large scale that had come off of his brother. This scale would eventually become Tayko's prized necklace. Just as mercilessly as he killed his mother the captain hurried the infant into the ocean.

A week later Tayko was auctioned off to a Tenryuubito living in grand line, the man was a wicked little troll with a wicked sense of humor; and 1000 times more money than sense. He kept Tayko locked in a cage and forced him and his other sea creatures to fight each other to the brink of death. The 10 year old boy was forced into this chaos and it was in this chaos that Tayko was forced to hone his defense, this was a means of life an death. As a sick joke when Tayko was 13 he was forced to eat a devil fruit, the Tenryuubito thought it would be hilarious for a fishman to loose it's ability to swim. From that day forward Tayko was pulled out of his home in the water forever, for the entertainment of royalty. The young Tayko soon discovered his diamond powers when his fingers started transforming on day when he got angry; luckily he was able to control himself and hide what powers he was given, eventually his master simply thought the fruit didn't work on fishman. For 3 years Tayko waited, developing his skills and waiting for his moment to strike. This chance came one day while a servant was cleaning his cage, forcing the slave to open the door for him Tayko continued a destructive path on his way out of the palace that left utter devastation in his wake. It was from this day forward that Tayko was a wanted man.

Tayko left his prison with complete rage for mankind, he emerged into the world with a hatred for humans and what they did to his family. For the next 7 years Tayko spent his life on the run, stealing what he needed and killing who he had too. These days where full of turmoil and hatred, Tayko had deep resentment for the humans and no amount of destruction would settle his anger. It wasn't until Tayko was 23 that his path of destruction was detoured. As a man with 1,000,000 bounty on his head Tayko never let his guard down, so as a precaution he would regularly monitor bounty lists and newspapers to keep up to date. It was during this reading that he was punched in the face by a man's picture. A photo of the man that threw Tayko into his life of turmoil, the captain who killed his mother and brother was in the photo before him, he was a Shichi-Bukai. The fishman's mind spun, he now had a target to which he could pour his fury, but at the same time Tayko couldn't simply challenge one of the governments top warriors to a duel. Then his mind was also flooded with so much fury Tayko couldn't possibly think clearly. His brain was clouded and he had no cares his health, he was out for blood.

It took 7 months for Tayko to track the man down, John Panzeer, the Devil of South Blue. The man was currently on a South Blue island hiding out while he planned an upcoming raid. Several months where spent securing John Panzeer's location, then several more months to plan his attack. Aided by a crew of Fishman mercenaries Tayko seiged the Devil's island and caught his crew off guard. While the mercenaries took care of Panzeer's crew Tayko chased their fleeing captain. John Panzeer led the Fishman to an open area in the center of the island, secluded from everyone else. It was here that Tayko fought the Demon swordsman of South Blue, this is the fight that forced Tayko's name to become infamous as the man who defended against the Devil's slash and won .
In reality Tayko barely got out of the fight with his life, mortally wounded and on the brink of death, if it wasn't for a friendly Mercenary Tayko would be no more. The 2 fishmen fled to a nearby island, certain that the government would immediately send a retaliation; but as months went by and Tayko healed they heard no word. In fact the Government had little care of Panzeer's death, he had for some time worn out his relationship with the government. It was only a matter of time before a marine messenger came to Tayko, bringing an offer of the Shichi-Bukai position he had freed up; the group needed a new member now and they needed someone they knew was strong enough. Tayko's decision was by no means made lightly, eventually he decided the title would allow him perks he couldn't pass up. This was a choice he would always regret.

The next three years would cause as much inner conflict to Tayko as all his years enslaved. Though the title gave him privileges and the government even paid for the construction of his armored submarine, the things he needed to do outweighed the perks. Even though when he broke from his prison he emerged into the world as a bloodthirsty fishman, after killing John Panzeer Tayko somewhat regained his inner self. During his months of healing he realized his rage had subsided, he didn't hate all humans, just the ones who did him wrong. Now he was thrown back into the chaos, doing the bidding of the government as his mind did flips trying to justify what he did. The cycle went on for three 3 until the government pushed Tayko too far.

A direct order was put out for him to aide a prison ship to its destination in Grandline. The mission seemed routine and he accepted the orders like all the others. It wasn't until he boarded the Prison ship that he realized this was anything but ordinary. The prisoners were nothing but fishman, all battered and bruised, bound to the walls with thick chains. The captain told Tayko these where Fishman radicals that where captured after they raided a marine camp. Tayko knew the scrawny captain was full of it, the prisoners where obviously civilians, only a few looked like they would be worth much in a fight. The rage of the situation and Tayko's inner conflict crashed into each other and the 27 year old fishman knew what needed to be done.

It was simple work breaking open the cells, then after the prisoners where freed it was hardly necessary to overrun the crew. The marines wanted no part in fishman backed fight with a Shichi-Bukai. Deserting the marines on a nearby island, Tayko set a trustworthy crewman up as captain of the ship and with the help of the prisoners they were able to navigate their way to fishman island, while Tayko followed in his submarine. After the trip through the currents they safely navigated their way into the island. Tayko was welcomed as a liberator and hero, becoming a celebrity on Fishman island; The Fishman who had defied the world government for the freedom of his people. This was the first good choice Tayko had made in ages.

Since his rebellion against the government and desertion of his Shichi-Bukai position Tayko has never been happier. Though he lost the perks of his title, he has gained the freedom of a sound mind and soul. He no longer has any resentments towards the humans, he has spent these last 6 years traveling the seas finding someplace to call home. His life has been spent defending himself from the world, he wants to start letting the world in. There is something out there for Tayko and he knows it.

Defensive Techniques: 5
Mineral Man- Tayko creates an overall covering of diamonds, this is his all around defense booster and he doesn't go into combat without it employed.

Focused Arms- Tayko's primary defense technique during direct hand to hand fights. Thickening his arms greatly with several layers of diamonds. His arms become bulky and slower moving, but it was with this technique that Tayko defended the slash of the blue Demon.

Rough Back- Focusing diamonds on his back Tayko creates large diamond spikes covering the surface of his shell. The spikes range in size from 8 to 18 in. This is his basic defense while in attack mode and he can maintain it for around 8-10 posts.
Razor Back- An enhanced form of Rough Back, though leaving Tayko unable to manuver as well. Tayko focuses much more diamonds on his back creating spikes ranging from 3-5 ft. This is only used when needed and Tayko can only mantain the extended spikes for 2 posts.

Mountain Back- The most powerful denfensive technique in Tayko's arsonal. He drops to his stomach and tucks is arms and legs close to his side. Then focusing all his energy into into building layer after layer of diamonds on his body, solidifying himself enterly except for his vital organs, creating a rigid domed diamond mass on the ground. During this technique Tayko loses all ability to move, but defense is raised to a level capable to withstand most any physical attack. Lasting 1-2 posts



Offensive Techniques: 5
Crushing Gem- One of Tayko's favorite attack, he focuses diamonds on his hands. Creating large diamond fists about a foot wide. The fist's will either be smooth or sporting stubbing dull diamond spikes, depending on Tayko's intentions. He can maintain the gem fists for 3 posts.

Cutting Gem- Similar to Tayko's Focused Arms technique, he focuses diamonds on his arms but mostly on his forearms. Unlike Focused Arms instead of bulking up the arms to defend against attacks Tayko uses his wide flat arms to his advatage and forms diamond blades on his forearms. Though the blades my not be as sharp as a katana, with his brute strenghth he's able to rival many swordsman with is crushing slash. He can maintain the gem blades for 3 posts.

Punishing Embrace- The Inverted version of Razor Back, and Tayko's finishing move. Tayko starts by grabbing his opponent on either side, grabbing their arms with his diamond grip and wrapping his his legs the enemy. The preforms the Razor back but on his front side, forcing hundreds of long spikes through the opponent.

Judgement spikes- A deadly attack in which Tayko creates large spike on the toes and heels of his feet. Allowing him to deliver lethal peircing attacks with his swift kicks. He can maintain the spikes for 4 posts.

Finishing gem- An advanced version of crushing gem in which Tayko fuses his diamond hands together in a large spiked fist, then using it in a crushing hammer like fashion. He can maintain the large fist for 1-2 posts.



Other Techniques: 2
Shining Gem- Focusing his diamond powers on his flat outstretched hand Goga creates a completly transparent diamond hand, which he usually uses to focus light and start camp fires.

Focusing Gem- A technique used to bring the body in sync, developed during his chaotic days as a slave. Tayko controls his breathing precisly and brings his bodies' vitals into check. This is a technique he uses to force himself into a calm state of mind during intense encounters.
