| Name: Midori (has adopted the name Gol D. Midori in the honor of the late Pirate King) Epithet: La Tormenta Midori Age: 16 Bounty: 21,000,000 Species: Human Occupation: Meteorologist, Helmsgirl, Assistant Navigator Allegiance: Sons of the King Home Village/Ocean: Shells Town/East Blue Appearance:History:This orange haired girl was born the daughter of a mysterious wizard from Weatheria and a woman in Shells Town, East Blue. Her father died before she was born because he was a pirate and was hunted down by the Marines. Her mother could not manage the funds to support her. Hence, off she went, abandoned by her mother to the local orphanage in Shells Town with three pieces of a green hollow metallic tube. They were the main weapon of her father, that her mother felt belonged with her. The girl's mother later died of starvation, never to be heard from again. The orphanage received the girl with open arms, naming her 'Midori', because of her deep emerald eyes and the green metallic tubes she had been given as the only remnant of her heritage. She grew up like any young girl would in an orphanage, but she had a wild and fiery side to her personality. She would often sneak out of the orphanage and thus became quite the street rat during her early life, often stealing things from the marketplace in order to eat and getting into fight with other street rats, only to be brought back to the orphanage to get another beating. Eventually, when she was around 12, Midori managed to successfully do what she had been trying to do ever since she was born. She completed managed to correctly assemble the three pieces of the Clima-Tact and create it. Granted, she did not know what it was, this green bo-staff that she soon discovered she could do magnificent things with, like creating cyclones and summoning rain. Realizing she now had the power she needed to get out of this damn place, Midori fled the orphanage permanently thanks to the help of her new weapon. She seemed to have been a natural at using it, despite not having been formally trained in its usage. Not really knowing its true name, she named it 'Las Nubes', or 'The Clouds', and used it to be a pain in the ass to the Marines, as Shells Town was primarily a small Marine Base. She was not really a pirate, she just found it amusing and prank like. Soon enough, similar stories of a orange haired girl prowling through nearby cities stealing from only the rich, giving some to the poor and causing severe climatic concerns began to spread. Due to the fact that one reporter managed to take a picture and then associate her with the girl who pranked the Marines, she was issued a bounty poster. She earned herself the epithet 'La Tormenta Midori', translating to 'Midori the Storm' or 'Midori the Torment'. Soon enough, she managed to earn herself enough reputation to get sought out by a certain Pirate Crew, the Dragoon Pirates, and her adventures with them soon led her to the Grand Line. During her stunts with the Dragoon Pirates Midori came to visit Loguetown, where several pirates, in disguises, had gathered to witness the execution of Gold Roger. Of course, like everyone else, she too had heard the name of Gol D. Roger, the late Pirate King, captain of the Roger Pirates, and owner of the legendary treasure known as "One Piece" as well as the incredible ship called the Oro Jackson. Yet, she had never really been pirate-crazy and hence never paid much attention to him, until the rest of her crew came to see his execution, at least. Inspired by this man, with unyielding spirit and determination, who could even smile in the face of death, Midori changed her name to Gol D. Midori after him and decided to become just him. Despite her newly gained dream, she continued on with the Dragoon Pirates. Her adventures with them soon led her to the Grand Line. However, it seems her adventures on the Grand Line at least, had to end soon, when her crew was destroyed in an attack by a powerful bounty hunting organization known as the Order of the White Lotus and their 100,000,000 captain was captured and taken to Impel Down. Midori was the only one who managed to escape, and she does not know how she's managed to survive being stranded in the ever changing and unexpected conditions of the Grand Line. Maybe its her Meteorology Expertise that's benefited her, but despite that, she's going to need someone to save her. Fast. Personality:Her theme song is "Can't Be Tamed" and it describes her perfectly. Midori is best described by her fiery temper and brash personality. Cynical and head strong, Midori is well known amongst her fellow pirates for her sarcastic personality. She has a bad complusive habit of making wise-cracks, making sarcastic, or even mocking, comments regarding situations that she finds herself in. Apart from the Captain of her ship, Midori frequently disrespects the authourity of her superiors, particularly First Mates, who she displays the most impertinence towards. Due to the prejudice and loneliness she suffered in her childhood, Midori developed a craving for acknowledgment. In order to achieve this, Midori would pull pranks all around the orphanage and even going far as to run away from it several times and stealing things from others, adopting the life of a street rat. Even after completing her Las Nubes and getting out of the orphanage permanently, Midori was still determined to be recognized, hence she began her revolutionist-vigilante attempts at pissing off the World Government. As she made more and more connections with others, her reasons for wanting to become strong and acknowledged underwent a change, having less to do with the desire for recognition, and more to do with wanting the strength to protect the people close to her. When she saw Gold Roger, she became infatuated with him, to the point that she only considers him her father and no one else. Her personality seems to shift with the situation. Mostly, however, under normal circumstances she displays the above characteristics, being most prominently characterized by her hyperactivity, being exuberant, impatient, impulsive, and inattentive. However, in battle, she has also been seen to be malevolent, cunning, and fiercely intelligent, but it does have a distinct sense of honor and possesses a loathing respect for those who manage to best her in battle. However, when the situation calls for it or when someone dear to her is in trouble, Midori can be very serious, and will instantly try to come to their aid. Ship: King's Memory Ship Flag: A typical jolly roger with a simple unstylized crown. Devil Fruit: Not Applicable Type: Not Applicable Effect: Not Applicable Special Abilities: Meteorological Expertise: Midori is an expert in the field of Meteorology; she studies the atmosphere: physical characteristics, motions, and processes, and the way it affects the rest of our environment. The most popular application of this knowledge is in forecasting the weather. She has the innate ability to sense changes in the weather, and can even predict the appearance of supposedly unpredictable cyclones in the Grand Line. These skills are the primary source that allow her to use her Las Nubes, and have proved useful in allowing her to survive the catastrophic conditions of the Grand Line on nothing more than a wooden raft after the destruction of her previous crew. Peak-Human Conditioning: Peak-Human Conditioning is used to describe the greatest amount of physical attributes a human can attain, without being considered superhuman. Midori's body represents the pinnacle of human physical prowess, without going superhuman. Her physical attributes exceeded that of any real-life Olympic level athlete that has ever completed. Strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes and coordination are at peak human perfection. She has performed amazing physical feats due to her superior physique. Though she does not possess anything close to the physical abilities of those with years of training in martial arts and the science of detection, she was an able street fighter and an agile gymnast before taking up the Las Nubes as her weapon of choice. Las Nubes, Midori's Clima-Tact: Despite possessing peak-human physical prowess, Midori is still and never was comparable to the monsters that plague the world of One Piece. She realized her shortcomings as a combatant due to lacking in a devil fruit power or training, and that her abilities would need to come from her resourcefulness and skills, meaning her nearly unmatched skills of meteorology and weather predictions. It was then when the only remaining heritage of her real parents, her father's Clima-Tact - which she named 'Las Nubes', meaning 'the Clouds' - came into her hands, and it was the perfect weapon for her. Midori can tactfully utilize the Las Nubes subtly without the enemy noticing her moves, always catching the opponent by surprise, and her ingenius techniques are astonishingly effective. Weapons/Items: Las Nubes ( a.k.a. the Clima-Tact). Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25): The Las Nubes is a weapon that resembles a three piece bo-staff, only made of steel and are hollow. Each piece of the Clima-Tact has a button and is capable of creating a bubble of air each with its own different properties. When the pieces are put together in certain combinations and activated by a button located on a piece connected within the combination, they can produce a variety of different results. There is a ball on each piece, containing what can be assumed to be a dial, which can be used to empower the weapon even further. The three pieces can be joined together to form a bo-staff or what resembles two Eskrima sticks, each form with different abilities, granting a multitude of possible techniques for use in battle. - Spoiler:
Each separate piece of the Clima-Tact is capable of producing a bubble of air. The bubbles produced from each piece have different properties.
- Heat Ball (ヒートボール, Hīto Bōru): Produced from the "Heat Pole" either when air is blown into the end of it or it is shaken, the Heat Ball is a red bubble of heated air that drifts along in the air. It heats up the temperature of the area surrounding it. This attack can be made powerful enough to do damage to an opponent in its basic form.
- Cool Ball (クールボール, Kūru Bōru): Produced from the "Cool Pole" when air is blown into the end of it, the Cool Ball is a blue bubble of cold air that drifts along in the air. It cools down the temperature of the area surrounding it. This attack can be made powerful enough to do damage to an opponent in its basic form.
- Thunder Ball (サンダーボール, Sandā Bōru): Produced from the "Electric Pole" when air is blown into the end of it, the Thunder Ball is a yellow bubble of electrified air that drifts along in the air. It electrifies the air of the area surrounding it. This attack can be made powerful enough to do damage to an opponent in its basic form.
Using her knowledge and some creativity, Midori can combine is three Ball attacks to form a variety of attacks based around weather phenomena. These combinations often left her opponents in bewilderment thanks to their unpredictability and strangeness.
- Blanco Lechoso (乳白色, Milky White): This is a prerequisite for most of her offensive techniques. Midori uses the "Cool Ball" to make the air cooler while she uses "Heat Ball" to suck up the moisture. The heated air then rises and collides with the cold air. The air then condenses and creates a cloud. By varying the conditions and concentrations of the "Cool Balls" and "Heat Balls", Midori can create different types of cloud.
- A Modo de Relámpago (雷の道で, By Way of Lightning): Using the Blanco Lechoso Midori continues to enlarge the cloud by producing more "Heat Balls" and "Cool Balls." Finally, she uses a "Thunder Ball" to electrify the cloud. Soon after, multiple powerful lightning bolts are produced that strike the opponent and deliver powerful electric shocks to them.
- Lluvia de Bendición (祝福のシャワー, Showers of Blessing): A relatively simple application of the Las Nubes, Midori uses the Blanco Lechoso to create a small cloud. She then sends an excess of "Cool Balls" on it. The water vapors in the cloud cool down further until they condense around particles in the air and form heavy drops. When they are too heavy to remain in the sky, they fall back to earth as rain.
- El Sol de Gloria (日の栄光, The Sun's Glory): Midori uses her Las Nubes to create a heat wave in the area around her opponent, causing the area to heat up to temperatures comparable to Level 3 of Impel Down. All the water vapor in the area evaporates, the plants wilt and the effect is similar to rapid drought. The heat wave can cause hyperthermia, heat edema, heat rashes and heat cramps to an unsuspecting opponent, hindering their capacity of battle. When used on an area containing large amounts of grass or a grassland ecosystem, it can generate wildfires and when used in conjunction with her Wind generation techniques can cause firestorms.
- Las Nieblas de Avalon (アヴァロンの霧, Mists of Avalon): Releasing several "Cool Balls" in rapid succession, Midori twirls the piece on its connecting socket with the rest of staff. After several spins, the cooled air around the area where Midori is causes water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the air to collect, forming a thick fog to spring forth and surround the area. Midori can use the Fog for supplementary purposes. She goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm to initiate surprise attacks. The Fog's thickness can controlled by the Las Nubes.
- Ball Lightning (日の栄光, Bōru Raitoningu): Named after Ball Lightning, the weather phenomena. Using the Blanco Lechoso, Midori creates an electrically-charged thundercloud. However, instead of a lightning bolt or rain, Midori instead varies the conditions in such a way as to cause small-sized "Thunder Balls" to rain down on an opponent. They're luminous, usually spherical objects which vary from pea-sized to several meters in diameter, and last considerably longer than the split-second flash of a lightning bolt. The ball eventually explodes around the opponent, sometimes with fatal consequences, leaving behind the odor of sulfur.
- Fecundante Vientos (収穫ウィンズ, Fecundating Winds): By rapidly releasing "Heat Balls", Midori can superheat the atmosphere around her, causing the hot air to rise up and the cooler air at the top of the atmosphere to blow downwards to fill the generated vacuum. This allows her to create powerful gusts of wind that she can use for various purposes.
- Vórtice del Fantasma (ファントムの渦, Vortex of the Phantom): Similar to a miniature version of a tornado, its a spinning funnel of air of various sizes. This can be used to trap and disorient opponents or as a potent defense since it will deflect and repel any objects and can even throw them back at an opponent.
- Presión Daños (圧害, Pressure Damage): By twirling her Las Nubes around in rapid circular swings and instantly building huge momentum, Midori can shoot a blast of compressed air at a target. The wind pressure is raised to its highest limit, and once the technique hits the target, the resulting blast sweeps everyone off their feet. It also deals great concussive damage.
- Victoria Tornado (ビクトリートルネード, Victory Tornado): Using the same princial as the A Modo de Relámpago, Midori uses the "Cool Ball" to make the air cooler while she uses "Heat Ball" to suck up the moisture. The heated air then rises and collides with the cold air. However, she varies the actual concentration of the "Balls", resulting in a different class of thunderstorms known as 'supercell' forming. Supercells contain mesocyclones, an area of organized rotation a few miles up in the atmosphere, connected to Midori's Clima-Tact by its base. Midori then pulls the mseocyclone back by swinging her bo-staff in the direction of the opponent/target. As the mesocyclone approaches the ground, a visible condensation funnel appears to descend from the base of the storm, often from a rotating wall cloud, eventually forming a tornado that can blow away houses and do great amounts of damage.
- Hechizo del Fantasma (幻想のスペル, Spell of the Phantasm): Midori creates a "Cool Ball" on the ball end of a piece. With the "Cool Ball" on the tip, she is able to create mirages to distract opponents and cloak herself in blanket of air to make herself invisible. She can also create multiple images of herself using reflections and refractions within the air. The images that are created consist of a long and tall skinny version, a chibi version, a fat version, a big, muscular version, and a normal version of Midori. Only one of these images is real, however, it isn't necessarily the normal looking one. Each of these images is capable of moving in unison with the real Midori due to her reflective nature. Any attack Midori produces while surrounded by these images will also be replicated, creating a barrage of projectiles, although only 20% of the attacks are real, so this tactic confuses even fast opponents into getting hit.
- Truenos (サンダー, Thunderclaps): Midori covers the end of her Las Nubes with a "Thunder Ball". She then twirls it around her, generating lightning, performing a circular motion with the arms. Lightning is created, and Midori only guides, rather than controls, the lightning's direction. Any opponent, should they be in the path of lightning bolt, would be pierced by the bolt and given extreme electric damage to their body.
- Tromba Marina (水柱, Waterspout): A powerful attack utilized when Midori's on the sea, Midori creates a waterspout. A waterspout is an intense columnar vortex (usually appearing as a funnel-shaped cloud) that occurs over a body of water and is connected to a cumuliform cloud, which Midori generates using the Blanco Leche. In the common form, it is a non-supercell tornado over water. Waterspouts do not suck up water; the water seen in the main funnel cloud is actually water droplets formed by condensation. It can be used to inflict severe damage to marine-based creatures such as Sea Kings or damage enemy ships.
- Devastación Vientos (黒風, Searing Winds/Sky Darkening Dust Storm): One of Midori's most powerful attacks, Midori creates a sky-darkening dust storm using a combination of several techniques, including Blanco Lechoso and Fecundante Vientos. This is most effective in arid and semi-arid regions, however, if she is not in such a location she can artificially reproduce arid conditions by adding her El Sol de Gloria. Dust storms arise when a gust front blows loose sand and dust from a dry surface. Particles are transported by saltation and suspension, causing soil erosion from one place and deposition in another. The rapidly moving dust particles can sear the skin.
Goals: To become like Gol D. Roger
