Name: Errol Fynn

Epithet: Flying Fynn, Fabulous Fynn

Age: 26

Bounty: 0

Species: Fishman [Flying Fish]

Occupation: Entertainer, Martial Artist

Allegiance: Neutral

Home Ocean: Grand Line

Appearance: Fynn is a tall but lean fishman, a pale silvery-green in coloration. His most notable trait is the dorsal wings that he possesses, attached to his arms. They are fine, though quite tough despite their delicate-looking nature, and these wingfins are maroon, with salmon pink coloring branching from the joints that connect the fins to the body. As the fins are actually part of Fynn’s arms, they widen at the middle but then taper to allow ease of movement at the shoulders. Fynn sports flowing wavy locks of pink hair, though the style is cut short to just below the ears, where the hair curls outwards in a cute schoolgirl style. Fynn has prominently drawn-in cheekbones, like most okama, and his lips are garish with vibrant purple lipstick, whilst his cheeks blush with a darker green rouge. He has long curling eyelashes, powerful but slender eyebrows and his eyes are highlighted by shimmering blue and violet eyeshadow. Unlike most okama, Flynn doesn’t have stubble, given his fishman nature, and this makes him one of the more feminine-looking okama around. His clothing includes a very brief pair of underwear with flower prints on them, and a loose, flowing blouse-style black shirt. The shirt is sleeveless, so as to allow the best movement of Fynn’s wingfins. His legs are clad in stockings, fishnet of course, suspenders attached to his panties, his shoes are stiletto heels, and he wears a showy scarf to complete the outfit. Thanks to his most recent show, Fynn has also taken to wearing a fake halo at all times, even when out of costume.

History: ”Oh honey, look, it’s your birthday present! Let’s open it, shall we, see what you’ve got?” cooed the beautiful mermaid, drifting lovingly above her daughter. Just on the other side of the table, hidden from view from the rest of his family a little fishboy mumbled happily, occupying himself whilst his sister received her presents first. Nearby, seated comfortably in his coral couch was a burly fishman, his harsh face lightened by the joy of seeing his children on their birthday. The little fishgirl sat on a bubble, giggling excitedly as her mother helped her to pull away the seaweed wrapping and the bright seabulb decorations. The girl yanked away the wrapping to reveal… a toy shark.

The beautiful mermaid’s eyebrows knotted in momentary confusion, and then she let out an exasperated sigh as she stuck her head under the table to find her son. There he was, surrounded by wrapping weed and laughing happily as he pulled a pretty pink seadress over his head.

“Oh, Errol, not again!”

Errol always knew he was an odd fishboy, his attention always drawn towards the pretty shell necklaces his sister and her friends made, their sea-daisy chains and their little dolls, whilst he found himself endlessly bored with the toy sharks, little harpoons and squidballs that the boys his age played with. He often tried his best to play with the girls instead but the adults shunned him away, told him to go play with the other boys. As it turned out however, the other boys didn’t like him at all, because which little boy likes associating with little girls at all, let alone want to play their silly girl games? This lead to Errol living a rather lonesome life as a child, tending to keep to himself and to escape his dreary and contrary existence into an imaginative land in which he himself filled all the roles, often playing out complex storylines with only himself and some props.

As Errol grew older his parents enlisted him in the Fishman Karate Dojo, hoping that it would encourage him to become more masculine, and it was here that Errol got his grounding in the ways of Fishman Karate. However, his parents’ plan didn’t work and Errol became increasingly more flamboyant and arrogant, sure of his own superior intelligence and destiny over other Fishmen. This attitude wore on the others of Fishman Island and Errol soon took the hint, running away as a young teenager to head to the surface world, where he hoped he would be more accepted. He found on the surface that it was no different and yet entirely different, for his status as a Fishman lead to his segregation but also allowed him to get away with far more brazen activities amongst the humans than ever could have been possible with the conservative people of Fishman Island. His odd nature was actually what drew him into theatre, as he was approached to fill a role as a sea demon in a small community play one year. This was where Errol fell in love with theatre, and it was from this moment that he devoted himself to improving as an actor and to performing in bigger and better shows.

After a time, a travelling theatre showman happened upon a show that Errol was performing in, and recognized his value, both for his talent, which was quite good, his ‘badboy’ reputation merely for being a Fishman, and for his oddity as a transvestite. These three things combined together to turn Errol into a goldmine for the showman, and Errol travelled the ocean performing his shows, eventually getting enough money and sway in the industry to commission his own shows, written and directed by none other than himself, as well as building an increasing entourage of assistants, backup dancers and stuntmen of all different kinds. It was during a tour of Paradise for his hit show “The Fishboy Who Dreamed of Being a Mermaid” that Errol first encountered true okamas. He had heard the stories before, of other men who dressed in women’s clothing and prided themselves on beautiful performances, but to actually meet them was something that Errol had never expected. So floored by them was he that Errol immediately canceled his show and journeyed to Newkama Kingdom with them, to learn more about the enchanting teachings of the Okama Way.

It was at the Newkama Kingdom that Errol honed his dancing skills, educated in the ways of Okama Kenpo and ballet, and melded all his knowledge together to create his own highly theatrical fighting style. Though the Newkama Kingdom was like a dream come true for Errol, he couldn’t help but resist the complete teachings of the Okama Way as long as he knew that the rest of the world still continued to see him as odd and aberrant, and so Errol has decided to journey back out into the world. His hopes are that he will develop in himself, becoming more able to embrace the Okama Way and less concerned by how others feel about him, and also to return to the theatre lifestyle that his blood craves so much. To this end, Errol has recently written a brand new show that focuses not only on his Fishman nature, but also more specifically his flying fish species, the title of the show being “The Angel-Winged Fashion Messiah of the Depths”.

Personality: Arrogant, obnoxious and somewhat superficial, Errol is obsessed with the latest fashions, which are normally of the highest quality and most expensive brands. He is also very flamboyant and terribly obsessed with his hair, spending hours preparing it, and often adjusting it at random intervals, usually when performing. While many assume him to just be a snob, the truth is, this is simply a mask that Errol wears in order to hide his insecurities and fears. His early life plagued by loneliness and isolation, Errol initially found he had a hard time connecting with those around him except through his dancing and performances, but since embracing the Okama Way and meeting other okamas in the Newkama Kingdom Errol has become slightly better adjusted and more willing to let people in. However, he still guards himself heavily with his guise of arrogance and will shut down any friendship quickly if he gets even the slightest indication that it could lead to him getting hurt. Because of this guarded nature Errol still has not completely opened himself to the Okama Way of friendship and unbreakable bonds, but has a firm belief that he will one day find himself able to let his guards down.

He has a relatively carefree attitude towards a person’s dreams and desires, feeling that anyone should be free to pursue what it is they truly want without fear of being ostracized. His own dreams are something that he pursues fiercely, and his dream of being a performing superstar is one of the few things that he willingly suffer in silence over, calmly taking snide comments about such a dream in his stride. Indeed, his dedication to his performances is considered by many to be extraordinary, though his prima donna attitude about being the star of the show can often cause the performance to be upstaged by his backstage antics.

Ship: Errol Fynn, the Angelic Okama of Fishman Island! T1-143a
Priscilla, Queen of the Ocean: A small single-mast vessel, this ship carries Errol and his entourage of “Okamashark” dolphin dancers and “Smooth Slider” tuxedo penguins across the seas to his various performance commitments.

Ship Flag: None

Devil Fruit: None

Special Abilities: Errol is a fishman, and as such has strength far greater than a regular human. However, as a flying fish-type fishman, he is designed more for speed and flexibility than strength, and as such isn’t quite as strong at equal levels of development as most fishmen are. Fortunately, his stay at the Newkama Kingdom involved plenty of Attack Cuisine in his diet, which has enhanced his physical traits immensely, granting him a finely honed body that most fishmen would have to train for years to achieve.

Having honed his body for the grueling discipline of Okama Kenpo, Errol’s highly athletic body allows him to tackle many physical challenges with confidence, and his ballet training has made him incredibly nimble on his feet, strengthening his legs immensely so that he can jump extremely high. With his wingfins Errol can even glide for a good amount of time and control his descent, and he has incorporated this into his martial arts, blending his gliding, Okama Kenpo and his Fishman Karate into his own personal style, known as Featherweight Fishkama Kenpo. His Featherweight Fishkama Kenpo is elaborate, showy and reflects the bonds of the Okama Way as well as its Fishman heritage in the highly choreographed Synchronised Swim techniques that require Errol’s dolphin dancers as backup assistants.

Learned Techniques:

  • Dolphin Arabesque: A high ballet kick performed after a barrage of punches and lighter kicks, this is one of the stronger kicks of Featherweight Fishkama Kenpo.

  • Fishkama Dash - Run to Paradise: Errol taps the ground several times and then takes a giant leap forward. With his long legs, Errol is able to quickly cross long distances, though underwater it is even more effective, as he alters the movement slightly to propel himself at astounding speeds, similar to a torpedo.

  • Fishkama Chop - Poke 'er Face: Errol strikes the enemy in the eyes with a chop, blinding them. This attack can prepare Errol for Claw Kick Pointe, and is particularly brutal with his Fishman strength behind it

  • Claw Kick Pointe: After blinding the enemy with Okama Chop - Poke 'er Face, Errol jumps into the air and kicks the enemy in the face with both feet. He continues to push the enemy until he kicks them off into a nearby structure. His powerful jumping ability and wing fins allow him to hang in the air longer if needed for greater accuracy, and to strike from higher up for more momentum and power.

  • Mascara Boomerang: Errol peels off his mascara and throws it at the enemy, and, like an actual boomerang, it returns to his hand. The mascara is bladed so it cuts the enemy, and can hit the enemy upon return.

  • Angelic Dolphin Fouetté: Errol lunges forward and does a backwards somersault in midair or underwater, to land a powerful kick on the opponent's head, utilising his wing fins to alter his trajectory in mid-air for aerial dodging and aiming.

  • Love Wink: A technique in which Errol can repel projectiles aimed at him with a blast of air pressure created merely by winking. It has also been demonstrated as a powerful close combat attack, similar to a punch, or a long-range attack.

  • Cruel Angel's Thesis: A technique where Errol makes a single quick flap of his wing fins, at the same time performing a Death Wink. The simultaneous triple wind blast is particularly powerful, and Errol can also use it to propel himself backwards even through solid structures like walls, as well as using this technique to keep himself aloft at times.

  • Where's My Head At?: By moving his head around at high speeds, Errol makes it look like he's multiplied his head. The afterimages are real enough to confuse even astute foes, and easily confuse artificial sensory equipment. This technique is required to perform Galaxy Wink.

  • Galaxy Wink: While moving his head around in Where's My Head At?, Errol winks at an opponent. Due to the great speed, this variation of his Love Wink attack is multiplied, as if several heads were winking all at once, at an opponent; much like a Gatling gun. Underwater, this produces a barrage of buffeting strikes that may not knock an opponent as far as above water, but can still inflict heavy damage regardless.

  • Consecutive Undersea Bowel Buster: An underwater attack, Errol darts forward and uses that momentum to deliver a savage side kick to the opponent's stomach. When his Marine Entourage is assisting him, this kick is followed up by a striking headbutt from each of his five dolphin dancers, enhancing the efficacy of this technique.

  • Five Hundred Tile True Punch: A hard punch that can send an opponent flying, and is strong enough to shatter five hundred tiles.

  • Showtunes Sea Surface Splitter: Using a ballet kick, Errol can split the very ocean itself in order to send a shock wave to attack an enemy.

  • Arabesque Tile True Punch: Errol punches at a fair distance from the intended target(s), so instead of the fist connecting, it releases a shock wave that sends them flying. This move is very similar to Kuma's Pad Cannon with the only difference is that the shock waves aren't concentrated upon being released; but in exchange, it has a much wider area of effect. This move has a delayed effect, as the shock wave takes a while to affect the opponent(s).

  • Fishkama Way of Bonding: Water Heart: An underwater technique that Errol initiates by first performing a bowl-shaped gesture with his webbed hands (one hand over the other) while underwater right before giving the water itself around him a mighty yank; this allows Errol to physically grab and redirect currents as if he were manipulating cloth. Errol collects the water into a glowing, blue-white orb in his hands, he then swims off at high speed causing the orb to form a spiralling water current which he then throws to the water’s surface.

  • Bridge Of Troubled Water: An underwater technique performed after Water Heart. Errol heaves the current upward, where it erupts from the ocean surface as a towering stream of water. Errol can generate multiple water streams like these if necessary, but his main usage for the technique is diving into the stream as he launches it, to transport him quickly and efficiently to higher ground or across long distances.

  • Spear Wave - Shot Through the Heart: A technique used on a body of water's surface. Errol heaves a spear-shaped burst of water with enough force to punch a hole in solid structures.

  • Great Whirlpool: After using the 'Water Heart' technique, which allows the user to physically grab the water and its currents, Errol can take advantage of his high-speed swimming and slim hydrodynamic frame to travel towards the surface while holding onto the water. Upon getting close to the surface, Errol can take advantage of his high-speed swimming again, this time to start circling at such tremendous speed he can actually create a whirlpool. Bigger whirlpools would require greater speed, as Errol would have to finish the bigger circle in the same amount of time.

  • Showtime Spray Thrust: While Errol’s hand is soaked he performs a quick thrust forward with his hand, causing a spray of water drops being launched at high speed from it. These drops do the same kind of damage as knifes, cutting where they hit. This technique can also be used to throw water with greater force and accuracy than normal, and Errol often uses it to fire droplets into the air to create a misty, dramatic theatrical atmosphere.

  • Consecutive Drifting Hammer - Footloose: While in the air or underwater, Errol uses both legs to repeatedly kick at her opponent, raining down fast and hard on an enemy much like a jackhammer. This technique is also used to keep an opponent suspended in the air or in the water, usually helpless to move as they are set up for a stronger strike. Errol’s gliding abilities means that he’s able to chain this attack in a long string with other techniques, never allowing an opponent the chance to retaliate.

  • Synchronized Swim: I Will Survive! Errol’s dolphin dancers form a line and begin tail flicking in a manner similar to the can-can, flicking water at the foe in a manner similar to a barrage of Spray Thrust attacks whilst Errol holds the foe’s legs underwater and zips around with them, before a tidal wave raises the dolphins far above the foe and crashes down on the enemy as the dolphins leap out of it in graceful arcs, a dazzling finale to an astounding attack. The enemy, trapped under the wave of water, is slapped furiously by Errol several times before the technique ends.

  • Synchronized Swim: You Spin Me Right Round! Errol’s dolphin fighters circle the foe at ever increasing speeds, forming a vortex of water that spins the foe around, trapping them inside and disorienting them horribly. As the finisher of the move, Errol bursts from the bottom of the vortex, carrying the foe up in a graceful jump before suplexing them into the waves below.

  • Synchronized Swim: Under Pressure! One of Errol’s main aquatic finishers, he kicks the foe deep into the water, then swims down and grabs the foe, spiraling as he dives deeper and deeper. The dolphin assistants restrain the foe further and beat up the foe with their fins at point blank range as the water pressure continues to build and they dive to a depth that will cause the foe to black out.

  • Synchronized Swim: Defying Gravity! Errol leaps out of the water, and is then propelled further into the air by each of his five dolphins leaping consecutively higher and tail-flip kicking him upwards. Once he reaches maximal altitude, Errol is either able to glide a great distance or drop into a bomber Claw Kick Pointe with great speed and momentum, making this the single most powerful physical strike in Errol’s arsenal.

  • Synchronized Swim: Six Hearts, One Song – Dance Like You Want To Win! The most complex and beautiful of Errol’s Featherweight Fishkama techniques, this is a hauntingly beautiful minute long attack sequence whereby Errol and his five dolphin assistants perform a perfectly synchronized series of high leaps, backflips, rolls and dance moves, all the while kicking, tail-striking and flinging pressurized water at the foes in perfect harmony. The music that manifests during this technique is said to bring joy to even the most hardened of observers.

Weapons/Items: Whilst not items per se, Errol is always accompanied by his Okamashark Marine Entourage, a collection of five IQ-treated dolphins whose fins and other organs have developed enough that they can move on land with the assistance of cybernetic landwalker suits. Errol also possesses a "magic comb", a lucky charm that he truly believes has the magic to grant him an exceptional performance on stage. Because of its awesome power he uses it sparingly, but it is his most treasured possession in all the world and he would be devastated if ever he were to lose it.

Goals: To become the most renowned theatrical performer and dancer in all the world.
