I just remembered that Kuma was screwed when Franky met him and I was wondering who was responsible for that, as well as to mention that the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi user can be damaged after all! xD

As you can see some swords stucking there and he is just damaged and the manga stated that he protected the ship. I conclude that he fought months and months against people without stopping and as you know wthey must all be pretty strong having survived till shabondy just to get the strawhats ship. Even someone like kuma can't hold itself against thousands of people without getting a scratch.

he could just repel himself away and avoid getting hit or use Ursus Shock

he couldn't repel himself away since he was there to protect the ship and maybe he did use Ursus Shock bet everybody has there limitations even Kuma
