Appearance: Houraieso has a light blue skin tone. Most of his face is taken up by his jaw with its rows of dagger like teeth. He has neither hair on his head, nor any tattoos on his body. He never wears a shirt because he says it restricts him underwater. All he ever wears is a pair of tight fitting diving shorts. He has very big eyes because he is a species of deep sea fish, and because of such has to wear dark goggles on land.
History: Houraieso was born in the deep sea under pitch blackness. His family lived at depths so deep that they rarely came in contact with the other Fishmen. Houraieso always wanted to visit the surface world but his father forbade it. His father was not all bad, and taught Houraieso fishmen karate to fend off the giant sea monsters that lived in the deep. Houraieso soon became a master at fighting but was very good at scouting out locations for his family to live when their home became overrun with monsters.
One day when Houraieso was out his family was attacked by a massive sea king. When he returned home he found that his family had all been killed. Enraged he went up to the surface against his father’s wishes. However when he arrived he became blinded by the sun, which he had never seen. Some slave traders found him drifting out in the ocean. They easily captured him because he could not see.
While he was being transported to the slaver’s auction he managed to escape. He hurt the captain of the crew during the escape. He swam towards the nearest island where he found other a small village. He listened to some of the villager’s tales of the Pirate King. It seemed the Pirate King was well liked in the village because many pirates had grown up there. Houraieso liked the stories of the Pirate King because he was the only human who seemed to be worthy of respect that he had heard of so far. Later while still hiding from the pirates who were searching for him, he found out that he had a bounty placed on his head.
He left the island and headed off to try and escape his captors. But he always remembered the stories of the Pirate King. While hiding out he heard tales of a man who also respected the Pirate King. So he went out looking for him.
After trying to lay low from the marines, Houraieso learned that there were other pirates like him that admired the pirate king. He set out in search of people to whom he felt a common bond, hoping that he would find acceptance there.
Personality: Houraieso is very wary of the surface world because he has not been there for very long. He does like to try new things though and is very adventurous. He prefers the water to land and hates sunlight.
