Actually, owning a rom or emulator is considered piracy unless you have the actual console/ game. So I only use roms for games that I own. Mostly so that I can rip the soundtracks and sprites. (I listen to video game music.) Another good reason is so that you can play your favorite console games on a portable laptop computer!

But isn't the point of getting a rom, because you wanted the game but couldn't afford it or something.

You don't necessarily get stuff for less on ebay. Go and by a new wii on eaby and its like 400 dollars yet NIB at the store its 250.

That's why you should buy used. Or look for the ones being sold by people with half a brain that know how to sell something. Selling a Wii for $400 might have worked when no one could find one, but not now.
