Serious: The Dire Desperados Ch2 - Desperate Battle for the Desperados, the First Rivals Emerge (Closed)

Dontae manged to carry Jace on the deck " Man this guy is freaking heavy" Dontae lays him on the floor and walks over towards Avis and lights a cigarette and blows smoke " So captain whats the next thing we gonna do, according to the rules we're in charge of the island now right?" Dontae looked out over the island as he made that comment.....

The moment Killua mentioned the possibility of marines, Avis quickly ran to the railing and looked out towards the horizon. When her eyes caught sight of the ship, they narrowed in irritation.

"'The marines don't dare come near this island', my foot..." she mumbled, recalling what Megumi had said. "We'll wait to see what the marines are up to before we make a move, they could be just patrolling the seas and have nothing to do with us." Could it be the marines had already heard about Fei's defeat and came to clean up the situation? Or was she simply over thinking things, and they were simply out on patrol? At the very least, she thought it would be a good idea to lay low until they figured out the vessel's purpose and who was onboard, whether that mean making a quiet exit or waiting until they left. The crew was in no shape to be taking on many more enemies until they were fixed up and had a chance for a breather. One of the strangers they picked up seemed to be coming-to, but the other one and Jace were still unresponsive.

Dontae's observation caught Avis offguard, and she smacked her forehead as she was reminded about the state of Fei's leadership of the island. It would only make sense that they were in charge of the island now, after beating the previous leaders into the ground. They didn't have the time, nor the desire in Avis' case, to worry about such things. "That could turn out to be a hassle.. Can't we just give the control back to Fei?" she suggested, hoping that someone would know the answer.

"AGH!" Jace's head came up and he winced. "My chest and back feel like their on fire!" He growled. He bared his teeth, feeling them beginning to sharpen as the pain drove him towards his berserk state. He forced the feeling back down and looked around him. He spotted Valawxedit lying nearby and he weakly pulled himself over to the other man's side. He checked Valawxedit and found that he was still breathing. Feeling immensely relieved that he had not killed the guy, Jace allowed himself to fall back onto the deck, throughly exhausted.

valawxedit he asked very feightly "are you the owner of the ship and can you help me?"still trying to get the a small metal rod to insert into his arm bone after failing again the metal rods spilled out onto the floor out of his reach . he tryed to crawl to the rods just to have one of his ribs tear a bit more of his stomachand have more blood running out. he fell uncouncious from the blood lost from all the time he had been on the sidelines of the fight.

Dontae looked over at Jace as he made his comment about his back he relized he had just pulled Jace fora long distance "nah that cant be it,Maybe your right captain we should give this island back to the natives or we could make this our headquaters just incase somthing we get split up or somthing bad happens" Dontae then looks over in the direction towards the marine ship it was only one but probaly had hundreds of soldiers or even worse a very powerful marine officer the only ones that were fit for battle was him and Avis and not even they could take on a whole army of narines by them selfs "Captain.... this seems like a lose lose cituation we wont be able to sneak away from the marine ship and we wont be able to take on all the soldiers on the ship if they attacked,my question is what do we do? Dontae takes a puff out his cigeratte and looks at Avis hoping she had a plan...

Seeing Jace get up enough to move around a bit lifted Avis' spirits slightly, and she smiled with relief. "Good to see you back among the living. We're not entirely out of trouble quite yet, but take it easy for the moment... And would you happen to have any idea of what that fella might want?"

She didn't expect Jace to be concerned about the health of the stranger. While she appreciated the fact the stranger had helped to take out Feng, she couldn't help but fume slightly when he moved enough to cause his bleeding to hasten, staining the area of the deck dark red where he lay. The entire crew worked hard to keep this ship in their possession, but it wouldn't even matter if the approaching marines took them out. Nodding affirmatively, she listened to Dontae's valid points. The odds were not with them in this situation.

Avis silently pondered the situation for a moment, unable to grasp a solution that would end in flawless escape. "Take down the flag and try to avoid being seen by them for now; hopefully they've only come to check up on Fei," she stated, still rather unsure about the chances of that being their purpose. "While they're staring in shock at seeing her and her beaten up crew, we'll leave port before any of them can find out that we were the ones that did it... I can't think of any better options at the moment."

She shrugged her shoulders anticlimactically, wondering if any of the crew was expecting a full-fledged plan with a high success rate and not the one she came up with on a whim. The chances of the entire fleet of marines going into town without leave someone to watch the docks was laughable, although their numbers might be small enough to be dealt with by Dontae and herself.

Dontae looked at Alvis and smiled he knew that she thought of that plan right on the spot in fact that was the thing he liked most about her ever since he met her she always thought of a plan at the last minute and making it work without a flaw. Dontae then walks over towards the center of the ship he climbs up the pole and took down the flag and folds it nicely and jumps back down on the deck, he looks around at his crew they all were injured except Avis and his self he also noticed the frog but he doubt it was up for a fight after being hit that many times, Dontae walks below deck and grabs two chairs and brings them back up and puts one behind Avis and sat the other beside it " Well all we can do now is wait or do you have something up your sleeve?" Dontae takes another puff of his cigarette while still smiling at Avis..

Killua was adjusting himself as the marine ship closed by.

The captain aboard the marine ship looked down in confusion when he saw the people on board "You folks better leave.... we are about to run a raid on Xing Shi island... someone reported that the pirate leader there has fallen, and we are going in to capture those criminals!!!!"

Dynar sighed after listening to the commotion for a bit. He looked around for the most wounded ones, taking them inside. They could do their plans, he'd patch people up.

Jace shook his head in answer to Avis's question. "No, captain," he said. "He was fighting alongside us and helped defeat Feng, but...I sort of went berserk and did this to him." He waved all the man's injuries. As Dynar began rounding up the wounded, Jace stood and followed him, stumbling as he went, to go get fixed up.

(Oh, and just to save you a little time, Dynar, Jace has claw marks across his chest where Feng cut him with his claws and he has burns on his back from some chemicals that Valaxedit hit him with. I don't think he has any other injuries that need attention although I think he did get punched a couple of other times.)

"That would require me to actually have sleeves to hide things in the first place," Avis replied with an amused grin, pointing to her lack of covering besides the gloves that covered her forearms. She realized Dontae probably hadn't meant the statement to refer to actual sleeves, but it humored her nonetheless. After all, she needed something to loosen herself with while they waited for a chance to escape.

The marines didn't make them wait for long, and it wasn't long before they addressed the crew personally. She hardly had the chance to seat herself comfortably on the chair that Dontae provided before the captain of the vessel himself asked them to vacate the island. Temporarily stunned by the marine's warning, she leaned forward in her chair until she nearly fell out and stared at the man momentarily. Did that captain really suggest they should leave? It sounded too good to be true.

"Well, I s'pose we'll have to take his advice and come back at a later date," she stated loudly enough for the marines to take note of, feigning a look of disappointment. "I understand that everyone will be horribly upset, but could you withhold your sadness long enough to us out to sea, Killua? Then take a well-deserved break with the others, since they'll be despressed to hear we sailed the entire way for nothing."

Killua then noted Avis's voice and then sighed "Yes.... we leave with a heavy heart.... it is to bad we travelling merchants couldnt sell anything at this island........" Killua then began steering the ship till they were in the clear of the marine ship.

((OOC: Frog,let's say you healed me up already.))

Naito Meru was done being unconsciouss and slowly and painfully opened eyes. He looked around and was in a cabin laying on a soft bed while he saw the backstabbing guy with the weird hair handling some that were injured.
The swordsman remembered what had happened and he was full of anger even though it hurt him just to blink he jumped out of bed and darted on the deck where the others were.

"WHERE'S THAT WITCH?!" He yelled out furiously while seeing they were in the middle of the see "I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THAT WITCH!" Naito was referring to Fei which knocked him out. He disliked losing since he had a childish personality.
He then calmed down and looked around confused.
"Oh yeah, before I got knocked out I wanted to join some pirate crew...I wonder where those pirates are." He asked stupidly although the pirates were around him.

Dontae was sitting in the chair on the deck with his hat covering his face when he heard Naito screaming, Dontae pulled his hat from over his face and put it on his head

" I see Dyner did a good job since your up and yelling already, I guess you figured out we're already at sea our crew defeated Fei and her crew" Dontae picks up a glass from the table beside him and took a drink out of it.

" My names Dontae, welcome to our ship, and no I'm not the captain" Dontae looks at the kid for a moment and turns back around and looks out toward the sea.

Grinning excessively, Avis waved farewell to the marines in the port, and the marine captain awkwardly returned the gesture in response. As soon as they wear out of hearing distance, she laughed at their unexpected stroke of luck. Either her acting skills were improving, or the people she used them on were becoming more gullible. Both options were good enough for her.

"Now then," Avis said contently, comfortably leaning back in the chair she was sitting in. "Killua, go ahead and get yourself patched up with the others. Dontae and I should be able to handle it until the-"

One of the strangers bolted on deck and Avis discontinued speaking immediately to see what the commotion was about. He must have been feeling somewhat better after his wounds were taken care of, since he was shouting like a barbaric madman until he finally had a moment to calm down. His comment about witches had Avis wondering if it was her that he was referring to, and it was probably the result of their recent escape that improved her mood enough to not immediately assume such things.

"I wouldn't go so far to say he's welcome to our ship quite yet, but it'd definitely improve his chances if he were to state his name and purpose," she began, looking expectantly towards the one she was referring to, "and doesn't continue to alert every marine in the area of our presence with his shouting."

Naito turned around towards Avis and raised an eyebrow. She looked so familiar yet he couldn't remem-
"Ah! The swords girl!" He fisted his palm in a way it meant he had found out what he was thinking.
It was the woman that Naito jumped infront of against that witch...
"You defeated the witch?!" He asked in a curious and slightly loud tone and then remembered she gave a hint for him to introduce himself. "Yeah, sorry. I am Naito Meru, swordsman. I want to join a pirate crew, are you this crew's captain that the flying hedgehog doctor was talking about ?"

Being referred to in such a way didn't sit well with Avis, and her eyes narrowed crossly as she turned to face Naito. "Well, swords boy," she said sternly, unable to completely hide some of the disdain in her voice. "Yes, I was ultimately the one that took out Fei. The answer to your second question is yes as well, if the 'flying hedgehog' you're referring to happens to be named Dynar. And I hate to disappoint you, but I no longer feel the immediate need to have another swordsman on the crew for some time. If I really need a meddlesome, loud creature that waves swords around, I'll find a pet monkey and train it myself," she deadpanned without any trace of remorse.

From what Avis had seen, there wasn't anything that Naito capable of doing that some other member of the crew could do just as easily. Yes, he was a brave soul, but jumping into fights constantly only brought short life expectancy in her opinion and it'd just be another thing for her to worry about in the future. She was willing to ferry him to the next island as payment for his earlier actions, as long as she contained the urge to toss him overboard and make him swim there instead that is.

Killua then watched, that swords guy was really strong he could tell. "CAPTAIN!!! im sorry, but i think he would be a good addition, we need a swordsman on our crew since we lost our last one....." Killua somehow felt he was going to get in trouble.

Dontae listened to Avis and then he heard Killua he knew that Avis would speak he mind and probably not spar the kids feelings, Dontae contined to look out towards the sea and spoke " I agree with the kid whats the worst that could happen" Dontae took another sip out his glass " But.. on the other hand if your wish is to really not have this guy I will step down and support you" Dontae sat the glass on the table and continued looking at the sea,,

Avis could've been stabbed in the shoulder with a stake and given the same reaction to such a statement. While Dontae seemed to agree with her, Killua's sudden statement caught her offguard. A slight shadow crossed her brow, and her shoulders drooped slightly. Was Killua implying that leadership was the only thing she saw her capable of?

"... Doesn't my swordsmanship equate to anything? Of course not," she grumbled moodily, leaving the question to be rhetorical as she stood up and quickly walked bellow deck before someone could convince her otherwise. It wasn't long until she came back up with a partial bottle of drink in hand that appeared to be, prior to being claimed, part of Dontae's store. Ignoring any looks she may have gained, Avis went directly to her room and shut the door behind her. She needed some time to reorganize her thoughts before doing something idiotic, and maybe get a bit of shut eye in the process while they had the chance. The crew could handle themselves until then.

Naito was not listening to Hysteria after she answered his question and totally ignored her while watching the beautiful sea and then she said something about monkeys.
"Monkey!? WHERE?!" Naito turned his head left and right quickly searching for the monkey while Killua supported Naito and Dontae stood firm with what would the captain's decision be.
The swordsman really would've liked to sail with those guys, they seemed as the crew he was fated to join but the captain was being grumpy is all that Naito understood. Maybe he was wrong, maybe it wasn't this crew...No it must be.

Then again she said swords boy to him which reminded him...
"UUUUUTAAAAAAAAKAAAAAAAAAATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~" He yelled out so loudly that the whole ship shook. His face looked desperate. " Where's my sword?!"
Naito remembered where he was when he woke up so he went back down where Dynar was and found his sword leaning on the wall. Naito picked it up and went back on board while screaming:
"YATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!~" He jumped on the railing and became silent watching the sea and rewinding back time to his battle with Tzun Ren and some trainings with Oyabun. He really missed that old man.

Dontae sighed he knew Avis was in a bad mood so he let her calm down in her room he stood up and unsheathe one of his guns and pointed it at Naito he held the glass in his other hand and took another sip out it " Hey kid how bout coming down with all that noise" Dontae was tired and wanted some rest " Now as you can see the captain didn't make the choice about you joining yet, but if you don't shut all the noise I'm gonna shoot you and make the choice for her" Dontae stood firm and waited for the kids response....

"Idiot," Jace walked back out, bandages wrapped around his chest and back. He glared at Naito before lowering himself down, wincing, to sit and lean back against the main mast. "What do you think you were doing, talking to her like that? If you want to join a crew then pay attention and don't degrade the captain by referring to her as a child." Then he turned his glare on Killua. "You, kid, didn't you notice the captain has several swords? I suppose I can see where you're coming from in a way since she isn't purely a sword fighter, but even so, she does use swords and it would be insulting for someone not to notice that. Besides, sword wielders are a little bit touchy about their status." Jace glared now at Dontae. "And you, addict..." He hesitated, about to thank Dontae for bringing him back to the ship, but he changed his mind and finished saying, "...throw away those cigarettes. You're going to kill yourself one day."

Killua then sighed "I know about captains swords Jace ojisan, but she is not a natural swords fighter like this guy obviously is,and we need strong people in our crew, thats all......... and i agree about the ciggarette thing, your gonna get yourself killed Dontae aniki............." Killua was not afraid to say what he felt.
