Serious: The Dire Desperados Ch1 - A Stormy Beginning (Closed)

Avery stood back quietly from the drinking crowd, everyone seemed merry and content with the booze. Being called upon by his captain, Avery raised a eye brow to the group and greeted them as a whole. The levitating glass, what an oddity. Plucking the cup from the air, he sipped some of its liquid off the brim, " Devil fruit, Huh? Interesting.. "

With the boy behind the wheel, Avery stood briefly in aw at the size and sheer force of the Cyclone. " Oi!! Kid, where do you need me?! " he said loudly. In a fast motion he slung the contents of the glass over board; then setting it to his feet.

Killua then acknowledged Donae and then oredered "we aRE sailing right into the cyclone, we can bypass it by using the currents inside!!!! but of course we could die.... but lets be positive!!!!"

Avis' eyes widened drastically mid-swallow, and she nearly choked on her drink in shock. She had a mild coughing fit before clearing her throat enough to talk properly. "Looks like the party's postponed, men!" she cried out, leaping to her feet and running over to the ropes. She hastily scaled up them and untied the second sail before falling immediately back onto the deck.

Avis knew that Killua had predicted a worse storm than earlier, but she never recalled him saying it was a cyclone of all things. Now she really hoped the alcohol hadn't gone to his head and he could get them out of the mess. Even though his proposition sounded somewhat insane, at least Killua seemed level headed.

"Just get us out of this thing alive, and preferably with the ship in one piece! I'm sure those who can't swim would appreciate it," she shouted, competing with the wind.

"Dontae raises his hat " hahaha yes lets be positive" he then stands up and walks over beside killua with a smile on his face " lets see how good you are kid"

Jace climbed back down to the deck. He didn't want to get thrown off the ship accidentally and drown. That wouldn't look good for him on his first day as a pirate. He sat down near the center of the deck to watch and see how the navigator got them out of this mess.

Killua felt the wind and the ship began moving as Killua began steering,the ship was heading into the center of the violent cyclone. Killua remained steady thanks to his previous years of martial arts training , he then shouted "Lets try and hold on!!!! " The cyclone was pulling them in, but the important thing for Killua was not to make the ship go near the vortex in the centre,he needed to find the current to follow ,this would not be easy "EVERYONE!! MOVE THE SAILS TO THE EAST!!!! WE DONT WANT TO BE SUCKED IN TO THE VORTEX!!!!!!!" Killua rolled the steer to the right to try and make the ship near towards the east. It was difficult, violent wind was going to destroy the mast if he wasnt careful, any further in, and they would surely sink.

"Ryo, up!" Dynar was prompting the frog to get up on wings. He ran up to the front of the ship, tying a rope to the figurehead. "The frog should be able to get us to move faster. He's strong!" Dynar shouted his intentions to the rest of the ship. He grabbed the other end of the rope and leaped onto his frog, aiding the jump by making a glider out of his hair. He tied the rope around the frog. "Ryo, move!" He pointed his finger, getting the frog to up the speed of the ship with his wingpower.

Grinning, Avis watched Dynar and Ryo go skyward. The two were quite brilliant; she never would've thought of asking the frog to give the ship a boost. Now all they had to do was move the sails, and the ship ought to be on its merry way out of the cyclone. She quickly ran over and yanked on the ropes to repositioned the sails so that they were to the east.

Killua shouted "YEA, GREAT IDEA!!! Just dont fly too close the vortex is strong, it can pull us in!!!!" Killua so far managed to keep the ship together and now the frog was helping him hold it steady, but they were still in danger of the ship ripping due to the pressure,he saw the exit, and now it took a heavy gamble. "OK LAST PUSH OUT OF THE CYCLONE!!!!!"

Dontae stands behind Killua watching everybody make moves to insure there survival there really wasn't anything he could do besides watch he turned and looks in amazement how fast the crews teamwork became so strong so fast,

Jace decided to stay where he was. There was really nothing he could do in these circumstances. So he resigned himself to watching the others.

The ship fially broke through the cyclone barely, it took all of Killuas steering power to get it to move the way he wanted. But he did it and fell down with a large sigh "YESS!!!! we did it!!!! we are out!!!!!!!" The ship put distance between themselves and the cyclone as they moved further away. Killua could see sunlight in the distance "Grand line weather is always too strange hehehe"

(I'd say we can start wrapping up and starting the next thread unless someone has any objections.)

Avis stretched her arms skyward and released a sigh of relief. That went better than she could've hoped. The ship looked in pretty good condition still, and there weren't any immediate repairs to be done that she could see. And while she wouldn't blame the crew for being tired after the entire fiasco, they seemed to be in pretty good condition.

When the sunlight came into view on the horizon, her face lit up. The sun would feel nice after all of that rain and wind. "I find that you being able to predict this type weather is even more strange, but I won't complain," she laughed, humored by Killua's enthusiastic reaction. "Let's just hope it's smooth sailing for a while at least."

Killua got up "I dont feel any changes, the weather is gonna be the same for a while captain..... how is everybody else?!!!!" Killua looked around to make sure everyone was ok.

Jace glanced over at Killua. "Everyone is still on board," he said. "Good work Navigator."

Dontae slaps Killua on his back "Way to go Kid" Dontae then walks over Avis and stands beside her " Looks like you've got yourself one hell of a crew here" he then pulls a cigarette out his pocket and realizes that his whole pack was soak and wet his eyes got big " Got Dammit, when's our next stop I Need a smoke bad"

Avis walked to the railing of the ship before seating herself and resting her back against it. "That's some good news. I don't mind a bit of peace and quiet every once in a while." Tilting her head backwards to look at the clear sky, she temporarily closed her eyes and simply soaked in the sun. The sound of someone walking beside her caused an eyelid to partially open. Dontae appeared quite horrified to be without his cigarettes, and she didn't realize that he was so fond of them.

While Avis didn't have any plans of stopping anywhere specific, it wouldn't be bad to take it slow and simply make port at the next patch of land on their path. "Killua, have any idea how long it is to the nearest inhabited island? We shouldn't plan on staying long, but it might be nice to get some information about the area there."

"If you won't be able to last without a smoke until we reach civilization, we could always knock you unconscious until we get there," she looked over to Dontae with a smile, poking her elbow playfully into his leg from her seated position. While Avis was mostly joking, part of her was quite serious.

Killua got up and pulled out his maps and looked through "Judgin by the wind and temperature... we should arrive at the next island in three hours captain...... but ive never been through here so i have no idea what the island is called ........ but im sure its a all day town island....."

Jace walked up behind Dontae. He put his hand on the sharpshooter's shoulder and held another hand up beside his head. "Captain, should I knock him out?" he didn't smile. After all, he was perfectly serious.

Dontae saw Jace was serious so he also put his hand around Jace's shoulder and a small gun came from under his sleave he held the gun to Jace's head Dontae was serious and was not in a joking mood since he didn't have his smokes " If you can do it before i pull this triger be my guest"

The smile disappeared from Avis' face, realizing things could get out of hand pretty quickly. Hastily squeezing herself between the two men before they could do anything further, she slung an arm around each of their shoulders. "Don't be like that, you two,” she chided gently. "Three hours is hardly any time at all. We'll be there before you know it."

Jace smirked as he looked over the captain's head at Dontae. "Yeah. Sure. If you really want to stay conscious then fine. But if not..." he ducked down under Avis's arm and transformed into his full bear form, popping up directly behind Dontae on his hind legs. "...then I'm sure I can take care of that in a flash." Then he transformed back into his human form and put his hands in his pockets as he turned away. "'Nuff said."

(Sorry about that captain. Looks like it was a Sanji/Zoro moment. Anyhow, I'm ready for the next RP as well.)

When Jace transformed behind Dontae he didn't noticed that Dontae had another gun pointed toward his chest " Don't be so sure" Dontae puts both of his guns back in the respective places and walks away to the edge of the ship to focus on something beside Jace and his Cigarettes..
