| Back on the streets again... Just like before she had met Seppy. Miyu sighed, truly sad. She hadn't lifted her eyes from the ground even once since she had left. Was Seppy dead? She didn't know. Was he looking for her? she didn't know. Would he be angry if he ever found her?....Yes, most likely. She was angry at herself for turning her back on yet another comrade, but even more than that, she was sad. Her stomach started growling again. She already knew the feeling of hunger all too well. She went into a dark alley, searching for some cardboard. Sure, she could have gone back to the hotel, but maybe Seppy was there. Maybe the pirate was there, and Seppy was dead. She felt tears rushing to her eyes as she picked up a piece of cardboard. If Seppy was dead, then it was her fault for not helping him. She tried to hold the tears back, but she still ended up crying herself to sleep, lying on the floor with only her own body and a piece of cardboard box to keep her warm. | |

| When Miyu awoke, she felt oddly warm. The smell of fresh-roasted meat filled the cold night air that nipped only at her ears, nose, fingers, and feet, as if held at bay in a sphere that extended around her core. Her eyes opened to a blinding orange glow that danced and flickered not too far from where she had fallen asleep. The damp, moldy cardboard she'd laid to rest under was gone, replaced by a much larger pile of dry, fresh newspapers.
Across the alley, screened out by the blazing light before her, was a silhouette that grew more familiar by the passing moment. Alerted to her waking by the reflection of the fire in her eyes, the figure leaned forward. Miyu instantly recognized the inanely smiling face of Seppy.
"Good, yer awake!" Seppy stated, his voice friendly and happy. He grabbed something hanging over the flickering orange brilliance, now clearly recognizable as a fire. A moment later, a skewer of roasted meat, seared and dripping with juices, was held out before her.
"I got worried a bit when y'ran off," Seppy confided, closing his eyes and smiling even more brightly. He looked pleasant, almost human, in spite of his fangs, with his tentacles hidden away in his backpack once again. His clothes were clean, the water dripping from his arms here and there indicating that they were still wet. "'M really glad y'fought off all a his goons fer me...'m really sorry I couldn' help. Was busy with the big guy, y'know."
Laughing a bit, Seppy tore off a chunk of meat from his own skewer with his feral, feline teeth. He kept talking as he chewed, unaware of his own rudeness.
"I god yer hav a th' bounny, jus' as promist," he said, a few stray bits of his mouthful flying out into the fire. Seppy spared a moment to swallow, his speech improving greatly as he spoke with an empty mouth. "I felt kinda bad fer runnin' off on my own while you were tracking Yoren, so I even split up the swag from huntin' his goons earlier t'night. You got thirty million even."
There was a dull thud as a large burlap sack hit the ground just inches away from Miyu's laying form. It was unadorned save for a single, large Beli symbol.
"Now, jus' you keep quiet fer a moment an' let me talk," Seppy insisted, ripping off and chewing another hank of meat. Swallowing, he went on to say:
"I know yer a real pro hunter, an' y'probably rather work alone. But I like workin' with ya. Yer powers an' my skills, they go good tagether. I was thinkin' maybe we could work on a few more hunts, y'know, make some quick easy money. Once we gotta go different ways, or we disagree, we can split up then. 'Till then, though, we'll make a killin'!" Seppy's strange yellow eyes stared at her with childish glee and anticipation.
"So, Mew, my best frien' in th'world..." Seppy paused, his meal momentarily forgotten.
"Whaddya say?" | |

| Being a bounty hunter? Her? Miyu knew that this couldn't go right, somday someone would tell Seppy about her and then she'd be done for... most likely... No, definitely, she wouldn't attack him, and he could track her. Still... She was happy he had found her. Unbelievably happy. He wasn't dead. He was alive and well, and he wanted to be friends! Before she could stop herself, she had alread jumped forward and embraced him. Maybe, just maybe, she was crying a little. She could barely talk, but she managed to utter the words: "Of course." | |

| Seppy blinked, his arms both out to the sides, unsure of what to make of the other hunter's response. He figured it'd make sense, when confused of what else to do, to imitate the other's gesture. His own arms closed around her; for a moment he thought this might be some sort of test of strength, a grapple match to see if he was worthy to hunt with. However, something about her sudden tears and the relatively loose nature of the hold told him he shouldn't try to squeeze her to submission. In kind, his own arms closed fairly gently around her.
"So!" he said, finally remembering and worming out of her arms with an agility anyone who's ever held a cat that didn't want to be held would instantly recognize, "I've got something for you!" Reaching into his vest, he pulled out a stack of papers.
"A new set a bounties, picked up righ' from th' night delivery-box! This should have every bounty head in this part of the seas!" Grinning ear to ear with his feral-innocent grin, he shook the stack, which didn't quite behave like paper should.
As soon as he began to try to shuffle through the stack of papers, Seppy's smile began to fall. The posters stuck to eachother, shredded, and basically fell to bits infront of him. He stared for a moment, his eyes going wide and his hands flying to the sides of his head as realization hit him.
"Daaaaaamn! I fergot t' take 'em out before I washed my clothes...!"
His gaze turned to Miyu, dejected, as if he'd just commited some unforgivable sin. Seppy's hands settled to his side, and a weak smile came to his face.
"Ahh...s'this is a bad way t'start, yeah...but jus' wait 'till tomorrow. I'll get a fresh new stack, promise!" Pressing his backpack against the wall, Seppy tilted his head back and closed his eyes.
"Jus'...err, jus' get some rest Mew. 'M a light sleeper."
As Seppy's breath began to even out, Miyu spied a corner of the destroyed posters not too far from her. She could make out, only because of her deep familiarity with the subject's appearance, a familiar brown eye, and short white hair. | |

| Miyu took a deep, relieved breath. that had been too close to be comforteable anymore. She looked at seppy sleeping, and she knew she wouldn't be able to leave him, morally not, and physically not. But she'd have to be careful... She really didn't want to face him in combat someday... She watched the pieces of bounty posters being blown away by the wind. Wondered if the risk was worth the gain. Decided that she shouldn't think about it too much. Went back to the place she had been lying at before. Watched seppy hĂșntill finally, she fell asleep. | |
