| Name: Septera "Seppy" McSeppymerc Age: 24 Bounty: 12,000,000 Beli Species: IQ Modified Human Occupation: Hunter (Specializes in tracking, stealth, survival, etc.), Assassin (Specialty in low-profile, stealthy murder) Allegiance: Miyu Delany Home Village/Ocean: North Blue
Appearance: Seppy is a strange, hulking humanoid. He could stand over seven feet tall, his torso an enourmous yet lithe and taut mass of coiled muscle. Normally, however, he walks around bent halfway at mid-back, deliberately hunched forward like a cat in mid-pounce. His facial features are rough, all hard edges and a low brow, but a mouth that seems made for putting on big, happy smiles. Dark purple fur covers his forearms, his fingers ending in sharp, catlike claws. He has longer canines than usual by a shot, two sets, top and bottom. A dark purple beard, short and ragged, follows his jaw, meeting with his sideburns and ending in a great mess of shoulder-length black-purple hair that general remains more or less back of his forehead, with the occasionally bang falling to the side of his face. He habitually slicks his hair with his hand, immediately after licking it, when this happens.
The most noticeable feature of the man are the two, slick, four meter tentacles rising from his shoulderblades. They are nearly four inches wide at their base, tapering down to under an inch just below their head. At the very tip, for about a foot of it's length, the tentacle flares out and is covered with spikes. The tentacles constantly sway gently from side to side, and sometimes behave as if they have a mind of their own. He keeps them hidden inside of a black backpack when he's under-cover.
Seppy is sparsely clothed, with only a torn and tattered old black vest with purple fur lining about the neck on his upper body. He wears black shorts as well, looking as if they'd once been pants, frayed and torn into strands two-thirds the way up his shins. Soft, thin black leather boots run up from his feet to just under his knees, their tops well hidden by the shorts. The boots, which lack hard soles and look extremely well cared-for, are completely non-reflective, causing his legs to near-disappear in the dark. Around his waist is a cast-iron chain, worn with time and use, covered in barbed spikes. It is wrapped about his waist several times, with a head formed of broad, bladed links hanging over his left thigh.
History: In his youth, Septera was known by another name, long forgotten to him. A happy and carefree child, he spent most of his days doing happy and carefree child things. On a particularly noteworthy day in his childhood, a bully stole a favoured toy from child-Seppy. Child-Seppy proceeded to kill the boy and took his toy back, spending his day as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. The news reached the town by nightfall, and a mob gathered to take Seppy's head.
Recognizing the use of children who had no qualms with killing, a local noble had the child abducted before he could be stoned, burned at the stake, taken down, hung, shot, and stoned again for his crime. He lead the child through a set of exercises, each of them increasing his value in the field of killing. He did a good job; such a good job, in fact, that one day child-Seppy killed him.
Finding the child alone in his owner's mansion, a creepy old scientist who worked with the noble took the child in, taking great cautions to not be killed in the process. He put the child into suspended animation, and began experimenting with it, using a drug that would later be called SIQ. By exposing unconscious child-Seppy to certain animal's DNA, he created a super strong, fast, and deadly hybrid. Being the seventh of his successful experiments, the doctor gave him the name "Septera".
On his 20th birthday, the doctor awoke the sleeping experiment and introduced him into the world. He told him his name, gave him three years of extensive training as an assassin with his new abilities, all in the company of his fellow experimentees. He fell in love with a girl at that time, Unitera, the doctor's first experiment. She, however, had only eyes for Dutera, the second experiment, with whom she'd spent the many years prior to his awakening. On realizing that rape is generally frowned upon as an expression of affection, crazy doctor man ordered the other nine experiments to kill Septera. Quatera, Octera, Nontera, and Dectera all sided with Seppy, not wanting to see their friend die. Unitera, Dutera, Tritera, Quintera, and Hextera were all just fine with killing him. The resulting schism killed the doctor, destroyed the lab, and set all ten monstrosities free upon creation.
Finding that everywhere he went people wanted certain people killed, he quickly found a living in doing just that. He got into some trouble with the law a few times; after being sternly warned only to kill the faces in the square pictures with the numbers below them, an enlightened Septera took out into the world to hunt him some pirates. He still occasionally seeks out his best friend and life-advisor, Dectera, a giant with blue skin that lives peacefully under the name Large McHugebig. Incidentally, McHugebig was the one who awarded Septera his last name.
Recently, events have turned him afoul of the law and he is now a pirate himself.
Personality: Seppy is playful, outwardly seeming happy and easy-going. He's very quick to laugh, and rather enjoys overindulging in all things he indulges in to begin with. He's friendly with strangers and enemies, rarely if ever showing any malice towards even his intended victims. During a tough fight he'll occasionally don a quiet, business-like demeanour; he's not actually angry during these times, so much as concentrating. The only time's his ire is roused is around blonde women with very long hair, as they all inevitably remind him of Unitera. During these times he becomes tempermental, childish, petulant, spiteful, and quick to attack. Conversely, affection from these sorts has an inverse effect; he can be become very docile and manipulable if the affection seems sincere. The moment he's 'broken of the spell', so to speak, his rage will be proportionately greater to the time he spent enthralled.
Ship: Placeholdeo - A ship large enough for one person to live in comfortably at sea for extended periods, with a set of pedal-operated propelers. One set is driven by his legs, the other by his tentacles, when he needs to put on a great deal of speed.
Ship Flag: A blank green flag, symbolizing quarantine
Devil Fruit: Nill
Special Abilities SIQ: As a result of experiments involving the use of SIQ, Seppy has some of the qualities of a displacer beast. - Tracking - Through use of his heightened senses and training, Seppy is an exceptional tracker. Unless conditions are extremely hostile, he can track anyone for miles with a trail less than one week old. - Animal Qualities - Seppy, being a mutation in the "great cats" family, is exceptionally strong and agile for a person. He also enjoys exceptional sight, smell, and hearing. - Displacement - Part of his mutation is that his skin bends light around it in funny ways. He's always standing a few feet off from where he appears, making it difficult to hit him with pinpointed attacks, and giving all attacks some chance of missing. - Tentacles - Seppy has two 12-foot long, inhumanly strong tentacles. He can control them as easily as any other part of their body, though he often talks to them and refers to each of them as having independent personalities.
Learned Techniques Snare - Seppy has addapted his fighting style to grapple with enemies at a range. The moment he successfully lands a hit with either his spiked chain or one of his back tentacles, he wraps it around the site of contact, establishing a firm hold. Rend - Primary assassination technique. Once Seppy has a hold on someone with any combination of two tentacles or chains, he immediately begins to tear at them by pulling in opposite directions. This is fatal to weaker enemies, and causes a great deal of damage to stronger ones. It can be avoided by never being Snared by more than one tentacle/chain at a time. Oh Snap! - Assuming a defensive stance, Seppy will snap his tentacles at the hands of his foes, attempting to disarm them. Get Over Here! - If a target caught in Snare is of similar or lesser size and strength of Seppy or less, he can pull them directly infront of himself. Brutality - If anyone gets inside of the range of Seppy's chains and tentacles, he essentially mauls them like a wild animal. His speed and strength make his flurry of bites and slashes appear blurredly fast, and are very difficult to dodge at point blank. Shadow Walk - Seppy has a great deal of training with his Displacement, allowing him to use it in fights to his advantage. While moving around, he can cast his displaced image in such away that he appears stationary. This can let him position himself for sneak attacks on opponents while appearing to remain more or less in the same place. Shadow Dance - Using his displacement in combination with terrain and line-of-sight obstructions, Seppy can hide extremely well and quickly. This can give him some mild cover in daylight and places with few obstacles, but in dense forest or urban environments, with twilight or lower lighting conditions, can can 'seemingly' vanish. It is useless in open, brightly-lit areas.
Weapons/Items Fleshton Kutcher -A spiked whip with the anaconda model zoan. Can fight with or without spikes out. Seastone Cuffs - A sturdy pair of adult-sized seastone handcuffs. Spiked Chain - A spiked chain some eight meters long. Seppy can hold it to fight with both hands, reducing it's range to four meters, but letting him use both ends. Tentacles - Prehensile tentacles with spiked ends. Claws - Sharp, non-retractible feline claws. Very durable. Teeth - He has two sets of sharp canines on the upper and lower jaw. The teeth are durable and sharp.
Goals Finding and murdering the 'Five Traitors', finding and recruiting the 'Four Allies'.
