Positions on a Crew

I'm sure this is a question that no one's ever really thought of but is there a limit to how many positions one character can fill on a pirate crew? Like doctor, navigator, shipwright, etc.

Considering that many of the necessary positions require years of training, someone can probably only be an expert in a single one. It could be possible that someone without a specialty could have experience in any number of those skills, but they would pale in comparison to an expert. Just my opinion.

Good question, I assumed it would be one until I saw some characters have multiple. Hmmmmm.

Irrational's got a point, You should be a master of one or Decent with multiple.

not relay, if you think about it eventually the crew would get to big for just one doctor, or chef, also in addition to there normal work, all crew members do odd jobs around the ship, like raising sails, dropping the anchor ect. ... but I hadn't thought of it

Well no crews have reached that point where's it's too big for one of each.

I guess it would depend on the situation, a person could do multiple things but regardless of how good they are in each of their multiple fields, they can't be a compared to a Legendary Cook or Legendary Navigator, etc.

Well no one could really compare to a "legendary" anything, but here's just a basic example of multiple positions. Doctor, Shipwright, and lookout (the guy in the crow's nest)...would that even work?

Then you could get more than one doctor in your crew, I suppose.
Or the doctor could have an apprentice to help him.

But would a doctor/shipwright/lookout combination work? I'm asking because I'm thinking of making a character like that.
