but does this mean that the users body can turn into gas as well? also why not use a weapon or doku doku no mi if thats the case?

Cannot turn the body into gas. It is supposed to be used as an irritant, to suppress the opponent, not to kill or destroy.

hmmm, still dont see why you cant use a weapon to make up for this , tear gas or paralyzing drug in a grenade launcher, which leaves a good Devil fruit spot open
