appearance: 7 feet tall, well muscled. has short and spiky dark-blond hair and blue eyes. has a large diagonal scar on his face, running from the upper right to the lower left. he has lost his left lower arm and right lower leg, and replaced them with custom prostetics( see roanoake's prostethics on the weapons page for more info). he usually wears a dark blue or brach pants with white sleeves, a heavy black boot and a white shirt that is buttond down exept the uppermost button. over this, he often wears a long, very dark blue cape, partially to keep his left arm out of sight, partially because he thinks it looks cool. he also carries a broad leather belt over his normal one. this belt has a lot of powder refills for his cannon.
in contrast to his impressive appearance, his voice is suprisingly soft, although it certainly gives people a feeling that its better to listen to what he says. he always sounds calm and determined even under very stressfull conditions. if he starts to shout, the problem has to be REALLY big.
history:don is the son of a notorious female pirate. his father, however, is a complete mystery to him. while she was pregnant, his mother decided that she would give up pirate life since it was to dangerous for her kid. she raised him alone on a small, relatively unknown island to keep them both far away from pirates and the marines. don had a very free and explorative personality since the day he was born, and his mother taugth him everything he needed to know to be a sailor, although she never pressed him to choose to be a pirate or not. he himself decided that he wanted to be a pirate, to see all far corners of the world, become rich and famous, and to be free to do what he wants and go where he wants. and so, when he was 8, she decided to return to the world and pick up pirate life. it wasnt for lon that she got a new crew together, with don as the cabin boy (simply the youngest one on board who gets to do all the little chores),and lived up to her reputation again.
but after three years, they where trapped and attacked by a marine colonel whe had a history with don's mother, and a score to settle. during the fight, don was hit in the leg by a stray cannonball, alost ripping of the foot and ankle. his mother went beserk when she saw him like that, and rushed towards him. she managed to put him in a boat with a sail, and sended him towards clear sea. after that, she stayed behind to keep the marines off him. altough she eventually lost to the colonel and his superior numbers, by the time they got to chase the escapee, he was long gone. he was picked up and taken in by a pirate ship. he went ith them on their quest for wealth and power, as well as continuing to train. he also received his spring leg from the onboard engineer, benny ,after he compained about how slow and cumbersome he now was with a peg leg. by the time he got 14, he was already stronger( and bigger) than many crewmembers, and earned his first bounty. however, trougout all this, he never stopped seaching for his mother, wich he believed was still alive and held captive somewhere.
one night, when he was 17, a mutiny broke out among the pirates. the first mate worke together with a couple of crewmembers to kill the captain and take over the ship. the rest of the crew didnt like this at all, and a fight broke out that eventually destroyed the ship itself( mostly due to the devil fruit using first mate). the pirates broke of into groups and all went their own ways. don lost his lower left arm in the battle and gained his trademark scar. he ended in a group with benny and two others. when they healed there wounds and benny created don's "steel fist", they became their own pirate group, with don as their leader. during the years they became pretty notorious, as they set an number of daring raids on marine ships and convoys, usually by sneaking up on them in a dingy or swimming, taking out the crew and sending them overboard, and taking the boat( and everything on it) for themselves. he also made himself quite well known when he decided to "redecorate" a small navy base by himself, taking out the entire garrison and its commander in rage. however, all this fame had the downsid of notoriety. one night, don and his crew( wich has expanded to 7 people) where attacked by a group of bounty hunters hoping to earn a fat reward. while the where driven away, they inyured many of his crew, and fatally wounded his friend benny. benny spent his final moments to finish his last creation that he had been working on for months in secrecy: the cannonfist. he wanted to give this to his captain to make up for his lack of range. armed with this, he went after the escaped bounty hunters alone, and beated them all up alone. he aalso finished their leader, who placed benny's kill shot. after this, he left his crew and set out into the world alone. this was 5 years ago.
altough stories about "cannonhand roanoake" have been popping up here and there, it has only been recently that he has been really in the picture again. he is still alone, and has been sailing around in east blue. he has had his fair sare of adventure , like running into a pirate group that tried to capture him and sell him out, to wich don forcfully disagreed, after wich the governament decided to raise his bounty to 5 million beli. he is still active there, and looking for a crew to join and meet his goal of seeing all of the seas- and find and rescue his mom.
personality: to people who dont know him, he often appears to be rough, rude, arrogant and calculating. however, nothing could be further from the truth. he is actually a kind, warm fellow, although maby a little bit to direct. he has a bit of a soft and protective personality, and is always ready to protect or help others and wont use violence unless neccecary, especially lethal violence. he also has a soft spot for children, and wil never hurt a kid or allow one to be hurt. he is also a lot smarter than most people guess by his rugged looks. he is especially good in keeping his head cool and come up with solutions when in problematic or dangerous situations. he also has a lot of confidence in himself and has a strong will, making it difficult to break or attack him mentally. he is very curious by nature, giving him his goal and often leading him into trouble. another trait that usually gives him problems is his issue with authority. although he can take orders if he respects the captain and understands his motivation, he has serious problems with people who want him to do things just because they say so. the effects range from sceming to reach the exact opposite effect of the plan to simple refusal and possibly violence. anyways, its gonna cause a lot off damage and make the governament really pissed

special abilities: super human strenght, martial artist(somewhat similar to thai boxing)
techniques:
1.cavalier charge: using the power of his spring leg, don shoots towards his opponent, and delivers a straight punch. the combined momentum will send his opponents flying backwards.
2. cannon charge: same as the cavalier, but instead of punching with his fist, he punches his opponent with his cannon, and fires it. the exta force is often enough for a K.O.
3.knights lance: don uses his spring leg to deliver a quick flying knee strike, wich leaves opponents dazed, off balance and open for attack. a variation is the vertical lance, wich is targeted at the chin from below, and sends the opponent flying.
4. retribution: after deflecting the opponents attack, don grabs his wrist/ankle, plants his other arm in his opponents gut, lift him above his head(partially using the opponents momentum) and slams him into the ground. this attack is derived from judo, and the stronger and bigger the opponent, the more powerfull the attack will be
5.titans grip: he grabs the opponent in the face, and rams him into the ground or against a nearby wall. its pretty davastating, and the blow to the back of the head will usually knock out or at least daze his opponent.
6.meteor kick: don jumps up high and delivers a spinning heel kick on the opponents head. this attack has his full power(and weigth) behind it and is therefore very powerfull, but it is also slower than his other attacks and can turn against him if not used carefully
7.grand cannon:by pushing a secret swich on his cannon, don can mix the powder charge with a special fluid. this mixture is 4 times as powerfull as a normal shot, and can rival the power of the legendary reject dial. this spectacular power comes with a price, however. he needs both arms to steady and control the gun, or he can possibly unhinge, sprain, or break his arm. also, due to the access heat, he cant reload for some time since the power would blow the moment it touched the steel.
8.speed master unchained: don remover his arm weapon, his armband, and his ammo belt. this combi weighs a lot, and all the energy that he usually uses to carry them around is now released. as a resulthe now moves faster, jumps higher, and punches harder. his speed is raised to superhuman levels and his strenght is doubled. especially his upper body can now move aroud fast enough to dodge a bullet. this does has the downside off robbing him from his most potent weapon and defence, but the increase in dodging speed and strenght can compensate quite a lot.
weapons/items: either his cannonfist or his steelfist, and either his sping leg or flipper leg. he also carries a steel armband that covers his entire right lower arm and is used for deflecting attacks. his boot has been reinforced with metal. he also carries a large extra belt that carries several powder refills for his cannon.
goals: to explore all of the world, find and save his mother, and live free as a pirate for the rest off his life.
