History:
Mathew watched the sun set on the milky white sea. He had always wished to be the sun, to set into the blue sea. His mother spoke of it often, yet she always said how the sky islands were much more beautiful. The grass is always greener on the other side, Mat invisioned a beautiful, vast ocean, one that turns golden once the sun touches it.
Mathew did not know who his father was and noone in the village would talk with them for they were human. They allowed his mother to live in the city out of pity because she was a frail women, always sick. Mathew lacked friends and constantly honed his skills with his bow. Mathew took over growing their own food once his mother became to sick to take care of them. They lived without having to make much contact with the Shandians.
As he passed over the waves on his waver their home came into view. He was returning from the city of Angels with the only medicine he could attain by trading the last of their foods. He hoped it would be enough for his mother was getting worse and worse. Last he saw she could barely move.
He opened the door slowly, gripping the medicine in his hand. He approached his mother, she seemed to age 30 years in such a short amount of time. He removed the hot towel resting on her head and replaced it with a new one.
She opened her eyes slowly. "Mother," he said as he opened his hand to reveal three red pills. "This was all I could get with what we had." he felt disgraced, a failure, yet she smiled at him. "Thank you. . .Mat" she said weakly. He helped her take the pills, his face painted with sorrow. "I think you should rest mother." he said finally. She nodded in agreement and closed her eyes.
Mathew retired to his room, not getting much sleep. When the sun arose, so did Mathew. He found his mother was gone, her body there but her soul was not. He let tears fall silently on the bed sheets that covered her. Suddenly he could not breath, he ran out of the house, falling to the floor gasping for air. He lay there for hours, staring at the clouds moving freely.
-How could they be so beautiful at such a terrible time?-
Soon the sun set and the moon ruled the stars. He just lay there, no one cared to talk to him. Once the sun finallt rose once more he knew what he would do. He would go to the blue sea, to see the world as his mother once did.
Personality: Mathew is not quick to talk but is friendly. Sometimes he can be a bit sharp with his words, criticizing people without caring for their feelings. He is usually optimistic about things and cannot stand for certain things, such as greed or laziness.
